Great. The new deck is perfect. Will did a great job and I was impressed that the wood deck was framed to give it a finished look. Will showed up on time and worked through the day. It took two days to finish.

Excellent outcomes-work done on schedule and per estimate--Will and his helper answered any questions well-cleaned very tidily after work--was give clear options of some choices in the plan-had difficulty earlier getting anyone else to even come to do estimate as this is not a large construction job--Highly recommend the quality of the work.

My home was built in 1930; I'm not sure when the separate garage was built, but clearly is older. The garage interior was not finished. Caldwell installed pegboard on two walls & sheetrock on the other two. A small window was eliminated which entailed matching the exterior lap board siding that is so common in East Sac older homes. The other remaining "window" which only had a funky screen was updated. A window was built with plexiglass so that I could close and latch it or leave it open for ventilation. The workers also constructed a new window screen that can be removed. The exterior siding patch was caulked and painted as well as the interior sheetrock. William came out within a couple of days to give me a bid on my project. He had very helpful suggestions some of which I ended up using and, in the end, made for an improved finished product. William has some fabulously skilled workers on his crew (Jim, Steve, Will in particular). The entire job took 3.5 days to complete. The workers cleaned up each day and kept me apprised of what was done and what will come next. All the workers were on time, very personable and attentive to my concerns, answering any questions. At the end of the job all debris and extra materials were hauled away or left with me (if I wanted them). William stopped and checked the job progress making sure the construction was as we had agreed, At the job completion, he walked the project with me making sure I was satisfied. Everyone, including the office staff, are very professional. I can highly recommend Caldwell Construction for any home project. I have already hired them for an additional job!

The quality of the work was fine, but it was nothing great. I would consider using them in the future.

Will (not Will Caldwell) was very personable and appeared to do a thorough job in estimating repairs. Received a phone call a couple of days later from the other Will who provided an idea of what needed to be done, but not price. I requested an e-mail estimate; however, after 8 days after the estimate was done still didn't receive the e-mail. Requested e-mail estimate again, but told it was sent. Too much back and forth, and finally decided to go with another contractor.

He arrived close to the time I was told and checked out the work to be done. He then left for about an hour to get supplies and when he returned he fixed the problem of the 1/4" gap between my floor and the threshold. He also replaced the casing on the left side of my door and painted it to match the rest of the frame.

I'd had previous work done by Caldwell and was impressed enough to hire them again. We had two sections of fence on either side of the house (including gates) which were sagging and the posts on the larger section were rotted. All of my contacts with William and his crew were professional and on time. We scheduled the work for 3/21, and the crew was there spot on at 9am as promised. The work was completed the next day. I had one minor adjustment to the gate hardware that needed to be made--I contacted them on 3/23 and the adjustment was completed on 3/25. The fence looks great, and I'd definitely call them again.

I cannot understand why an Angie's List A contractor would take ELEVEN DAYS just to visit a home to determine whether he could fulfill his $640 coupon already paid for.

Excellent work. The redwood deck looks fantastic. Wall needed additional work after job was finished. He came out and did the work no charge. Overall we are very satisfied and hope to use them again.

Arrived on time. Was very cordial and professional. Started job immediately and had all tools necessary to efficiently perform job. Very please with service. I would used the service vendor again.

The young man who gave the estimate for the work that I wanted done was polite and on time. I was satisfied with the labor cost so I got on their schedule to have the work done. It ended up raining the day the work was scheduled but the owner called first thing that morning to let me know the work would be done the next day. The man who did the work was on time, polite, surveyed the scope of work to be done, removed the broken/damaged parts and hauled it away, picked up supplies needed for the repairs, did the work and cleaned up the area. I thought the work was done well and I am very happy with the result. The owner came the next day to check the work and make sure I was happy with it. I wish I could have done the job myself to save the money, but it was definitely worth it to have it done correctly and finished within a few hours. It's now rained a couple times and there are no leaks. Money well spent and a job well done.

Excellent work. We had dry rot damage at the base of the chimney on the roof, and some on the lower edge of the home. The chimney casing was also warped and rotted, and there was an additional damaged piece of siding on the other side of the house. Marcus came out to provide a labor quote on 10/13/15 with the understanding that materials would be added later once the extent of the damage was known. We estimated at that time that the work would cost roughly $2000. Work began on 10/29, on schedule. Marcus and his team were efficient, well-organized and more than willing to show me what they were doing and why. Some additional woodwork and trim was required beyond the original estimate, which brought the total cost to $2200. Marcus and a coworker came back on 10/30 to finish up the work (they tried, but couldn't get it all done in one day). Again, they were on time and professional. After a final walkthrough, we declared the job a success. I would gladly work with Caldwell again, and would certainly recommend their services to anyone!

the work went very well. the guys made sure everything looked good and made sure i was happy. the only bad thing i would like to say is that hes very busy so tends to forget who you are when setting up times for work. i will still use him but make sure i send him txt to remind him about me. but all in all i know if i need something done he will do it knowing it will be done right.

He did a really good job. Marcus and Tony were great.

Over two days, I had five different guys (2 originally on the first day, augmented by 1 to better complete the attic insulation part of the job) and two the next day for left over projects. All five individuals were excellent in what they did. It might have been better to have had the same guys both days but as it turned out they all had their strengths and it went very well. The estimator (Marcus) insisted that the job be completed as originally agreed to even though I was willing to do a couple of finishing touches myself. I chose to have a number of items completed at the same time to check off items that were on a checklist I've maintained for a decade. Some of which I've tried to unsuccessful complete and others that just came about. If figure I got what I paid for plus some. I especially appreciated the oversight by Marcus and the work by the five individuals who completed the work. At no time was I concerned about any of them being in my home. For the most part I stayed out of the way. There was actually a short third day for painting over some ceiling repair work. Again, excellent job. I couldn't be happier. I will call them if I have other items build up on my list in the future.

I had Caldwell out on two occasions. The initial occasion is the one in which I used the Big Deal, I think it was $99. They were called to repair a security flood light in my front yard. I was satisfied with that call. They were not able to repair the light because they needed to replace it so I paid them the $99. Actually, they offered, I think it was maybe an hours worth of work or maybe it was 2 hours. But they looked at the light and they also installed some house numbers onto the front of my house like I asked. I was satisfied with the first call. Then we had to set up a date for them to come back to repair the light that they were not able to repair the first time. The second time it was a little bit of confusion about what they were going to do. I had the feeling the second time he was a little less professional. He was a little, I don't want to say condescending but telling his assistant, Make sure you get the money from her. He said that several times as though he thought I wasn't going to pay. I was a little disappointed with the way he said that. I said, if you're worried I won't pay you, I can pay you up front. He said, no, no, no, we'll wait until we get the job done. His helper who actually installed the light was helpful, he was professional. The light is working now. Also, with that second call, the first call we listed 3 things he was going to do. He said he would recharge me for the second call and then there were 2 or 3 things we said he was going to do for the amount of time and money when he was going to come but he didn't even mention those the second time. We didn't follow the procedures and instructions that he said he was going to do the second time like he said the first time.

Caldwell Construction completely gutted and rebuilt the large wooden entry stairs leading up to our front porch. We own a 100 + y/o craftsman home and were concerned with maintaining the architectural/historic integrity of the exterior stairs and front porch - i.e. bullnose stairs, detailed wood-etchings, and other craftsman details. William and his team delivered on all-fronts. ?Their pricing was extremely competitive (I sought seven bids for this project, all from other vendors present on Angieslist). Also, their communication was clear and consistent. The job was performed on-time, the team-members were both diligent and professional.?Additionally, the owner, William, called to follow-up/ensure that we were satisfied with the work after the job was completed. Given our quality experience, we will likely be contracting Caldwell Construction to perform much larger remodel/renovation projects slated to be performed in the Fall. We are very pleased with their service.
