Borg Fence & Decks

dWe contracted Borg Fence to replace our existing rotted fence. They came in with a fair bid, worked quickly and efficiently. They did an excellent job. Brian, the contracting representative, was pleasant and very informative. The Fence is sturdy and beautiful. I would highly recommend Borg Fence.

Called Home Depot first and they supplied us with the company they contract with. Called Borg and had them come out for an estimate. We set up a date and the representative was very prompt. I had 4- quotes total and Borg came in with the best offer and after looking up the company on you website and Better Business and State Contractor License Board, found them to be a tripple A company. We contracted with them and they called to set a time and date, was prompt and very professional. It took 2 days. The fence looks great and the neighbor was so impressed, she contracted with them to put in a huge 2-door drive thru gate. She was very happy with them also. This is a great company and treated us very well. Absolutely would use them again.

It took them a long time to do it. They worked on the wrong side so I have to call them back. It was just a simple gate but it took them a month to do it, I was expecting it to be finished in a week. I don't think they understood what I wanted to be done. I got low quality company so I thought I have paid more. But nonetheless, they took care of it.

We did not use them because their bid was too high. There was a lot of difficulty to get with him. He told us he would get back to us and he didn't so then we were playing phone tag so not a good thing. He is a one man show.

Everything went well, but we decided to postpone the project. I didn't get other estimates, so I can't rate the price.

They were helpful in putting an estimate together. He wanted me to move the RV which was not convenient.

They left chucks of concrete around the posts within the dirt which is now dried and worthless within our garden area. Even though they were hired by Home Depot, we were impressed when we found out they happened to be on Angie's List. We quickly changed my mind when they left without cleaning up. Would they have done better if we hired them straight from Angie's List? And why would that be?

They're very professional. They did an excellent job. They did a neighbor-friendly fence that looks appealing from both sides. They're hardworking guys who didn't take a ton of breaks; they just worked through the day. They got everything done in one day. It was a big, long fence--about 122 ft. I would recommend them to others.

They are incredibly honest people, they are a little more expensive than other companies, but they are worth it because the warranty is excellent, and if there is anything wrong with their product, they come out immediately and fix it.

I've used them twice now. Once five years ago and this time. The quality of work is good. They arrived early and on scheduled. They brought all necessary equipment, tools, and materials needed. They finished early and did a great job. They satisfied all three parties that were involved. I would definitely recommend them to anyone.

A tree root had raised the sidewalk under my gate. Borg Fencing and other fencing companies recommended I replace the gate and the section of fence connected to it and in the process cut the root growing under the sidewalk. I was assured when I accepted Borg's bid that the root would be cut before replacing the gate. I had a 15 foot portion of the fence stained. The stain was applied very lightly and after a few months it started to wear off. It was applied so lightly it had not penetrated the wood. I called Borg to ask that the stain be reapplied. It took several phone calls before I was finally able to get someone to come out. They sent someone to determine if there was a problem that they should fix. This person tried to convince me that there was not problem, one of her arguments was to tell me that this was a lighter stain than the one in their brochure. I insisted and after a few more phone calls was able to get them to send someone out to re-stain the fence. Almost 10 months after the fence was installed, the gate was becoming harder to close, the gate latch was no longer aligned properly. I called Borg and again had to call several times before someone was finally sent out. The workers who had installed the fence came out and adjusted the latch. I asked why the gate would need adjustment since it was not sagging and whether they had actually cut the root as I had been promised. The workers said they had not found a root when they removed the old gate and fence and did not know what had caused the latch to need adjustment, though they admitted the sidewalk under it had raised. They told me to just adjust the latch if it happened again. It did happen again a couple of months later. I called Borg, though it was now just over a year and the fence had a one year warranty. I never heard back from Borg, I gave up after a couple more calls and spent another $900 to have the sidewalk replaced and the root cut. While it is hard to understand that the workers did not find the root, I feel that Borg should have informed me at that point before proceeding with the work. There were other places that the gate could have been installed. I should have insured that the contract specify that the tree root be removed, not just vegetation as was marked. And I should have stayed home and supervised the work, especially the work on the gate which was the major concern

It went just fine. I’d give them a tip-top rating. They were first-class.

I obtained three estimates and Borg was slightly higher than the next lowest but had more knowledge than the other by far. Now looking at our fence it is absolutely gorgeous, better than I envisioned. Mr. Borg himself came out to do the estimate, asked all the detailed questions that I would not have known to ask, there was no pressure just options, I wanted to know how much everything cost and let him know what I was willing to pay more for and he simply provided information and answered all my questions. He also had a portfolio to show me exactly what he was talking about. The workers showed up as planned and although they did not have everything they needed, someone came and dropped off the missing materials. The other mishap was the worker drilled holes for a 6ft fence into my house but it was 4ft, he puttied over but you can obviously see the white putty over the creme house, I know this might truly upset some folks but because it was in an inconspicuous place and the fence turned out so amazing, I didn't make a big deal out of it. They finished that day and and put a nice looking spring lock on it. I simply cannot say enough about the end product, it is a gorgeous fence and we get compliments on it.

We called Borg to schedule an estimate and Ray was able to come out the following week. He listened to what we wanted and he offered suggestions to help us decide what type of fence would work best for us. He knows his work and everything was spelled out in the esimate. His office was supposed to call back within a few days to schedule the installation, but we ended up having to call them back to set a date. The 3 man crew showed up on time at 8:00 am and they worked straight through the day, finishing up about 4:00 pm. They hauled away the old fence and they did a good job cleaning up the area when they were done. They had to make a few adjustments, such as moving the front gate up a bit, but they always asked first to make sure we were ok with any changes. They made sure all the gates fit well and they were no gaps. They tried not to disturb my plants. Borg did a great job and the fence looks absolutely beautiful. This fence is solid and our dog won't be escaping any more! The final cost was right on the estimate, so no surprises at the end. We called back later for information about staining the fence and they were happy to talk with us. We are very satisfied with the work that was done.

We had called Borg in March and the first estimator did not respond to our emails and phone calls to finalize and schedule the job. So I went to Home Depot and asked for an estimate and was suprised to discover they contract w/ Borg. I expressed my disappointment w/ the prior estimator but was convienced to give Borg a second try. Reuben Borg came out to give an estimate this second time and he was great! He was on time, very professional and friendly and gave a good estimate on the spot. I was so impressed I called the next day and scheduled the job. However, the problem came with the Borg project manager and work crew. The job, which consisted of installing 4 gates at each corner of the house, was suppose to take 1 day but they were unable to complete the job on time and ended up coming out 10 days later to finish. When they dug up dirt for the fence posts they buried several plants. When they finished the job, debris and piles of dirt and concrete were left behind with 1/2 dozen plants dead. They stated they would take away old metal fencing but it sat in our backyard for 6 weeks. We called SEVERAL TIMES about various issues, left messages with Borg staff and on the project managers cell phone regarding removal of old fence, cracked boards on the new fence, improper installation of the gate latches (upside down) and asked them to fix areas of our concrete there they hand chipped away chunks of concrete to make way for fence post when there was ample room to dig posts in the dirt area. The project manager rarely returned out calls and did not complete all fix-it requests. Several calls were made to the Borg staff - I wonder if the desk staff actually passed messages along to the project manager or if the project manager decided to ignore our concerns? On on occasion, the project manager called us with an irritated tone in his voice asking for payment when the job was not even finished!

Reuben came out for the estimate on time. We had to reschedule because of rain, but we got a time within a week of our original date. They got here about 8:45 in the morning and were completely finished by 1:30 in the afternoon! Not bad and all done in 4 hours and 45 minutes! An excellent job with the fence as straight as an arrow. They took away the old fence and cleaned up after themselves. The workmen also let me know what kind of stain to use on it. We were very pleased with the professional job.

Borg responded promptly to my call for an estimate, arriving on time for the appointment. Bid was the lowest of three estimates gathered. Work was scheduled, then rescheduled due to weather. Crew showed up on time and completed the work in one day as promised. No surprises, no added costs. All in all, a very positive experience.

Our entire experience was fantastic! The company responsed quickly when we called for an estimate. The salesperson came out promptly and discussed our options clearly and professionally. A couple of other companies just gave us an estimate over the phone. From the start, we felt entirely comfortable with Borg and the associate, Leigh Turpin. We were given a written estimate for a less expensive option as well as the one we chose. Although it was not a cheap project, we feel we got our money's worth and now have a gorgeous new fence to enjoy. We plan to complete the other side in the near future.

I got 4 written bids from top-rated Angie's List companies. The proposal from Borg was the most complete and professional and their price was 15% less than the next lowest bid. I had a little difficulty scheduling the work: I had to call the salesman twice who eventually told me that to schedule the work I had to call the office. I had to call the office twice because the only person who schedules work doesn't work every day of the week. In any event, I eventually got the work scheduled and the job got done in a very satisfactory manner. Two guys did it all in one day. I'm very happy with the work Borg did for us.

The job was smooth, fast and everything went well. Leigh Turpin was right on on what was needed and suggested the best way to do the job and use of correct materials.

I scheduled a noon appointment for an estimate. The appointed time came and the estimator, Leigh, called to let me know that he was 35 minutes away. Twenty five minutes later he called to say that he was 25 minutes away. We decided that he should proceed to his 1:30 p.m. appointment and call me as soon as he was leaving there so that I could come home and meet him. Since he was early for his 1:30 p.m. appointment, he arrived at my house shortly after 2 p.m. We walked my property and reviewed the fence and two gates to be replaced. Sunday night, 3+ days later, I received the estimate from Borg Fence. It was the second highest estimate of the four that I received, and 16% more than the one accepted. The estimate itself was very detailed, and included a key suggestion for handling a change in slope (kickboard). I have no doubt that Borg Fence would have completed the fence to my satisfaction had I awarded the project to them. I was relieved that the price difference was so great as I feared choosing a contractor based solely on who showed up on time!

The estimate from Tony Manino was very detailed and easy to understand. The workers were very professional. I was very impressed with the quality of work. They were finished in two days. I highly recommend the company.

The two workmen were on time, answered any questions I had satisfactorily. They completed the work in good order and cleaned up very well. Clint made a stop by to check on the progress and to ask if all was O.K. Very attentive.

They were very good. They were timely and professional. I would use them again.
