All the first rep wanted to do was show me how to use the thermostat. Come to find out the part should have been replaced when the heater was replaced in fall 2012. We received no refund for that bungled process.

They wanted $1,000.00 to replace it. I found a new motor at an appliance parts place and replaced the motor myself. Total cost was $168.00. The cost of the motor. They jack up the price of the repair and try to sell a service plan to bring down the price of the repair. The summer before the motor issue I had them check a plugged condensation line. They replaced it but installed it backwards and had to come out a second time to fix it.

in 2012, I bought the service plan to have AC serviced in the summer and heater in the winter. In July I paid for and scheduled my service for about 30 days later... The day of my appointment, they called to tell me they were overwhelmed and could not come out as scheduled. Of course, the fact that I took off from work to meet them didn't really matter. The gentleman curtly said, "there is nothing wrong with your A/C, and I should be willing to give up my appointment for those that "really need it". Nice. Thank you for that. Needless to say, they didn't come. So this year, I had a different plan. I called them in April and scheduled my service for May. A full 45 days out... I'm thinking I'm ahead of them this time scheduling it so far in advance of the cooling season!!! Guess what? On the day of scheduled service, they called me to cancel AGAIN!!! Same thing, they have to cancel unnecessary maintenance for people that really need it. I told the lady they did the same thing to me last summer, but she didn't care and proceeded to tell me that I could call back to reschedule when it's convenient. I told her it's convenient NOW!!! So here's my advice. Find someone else. This business is horrible. If they do actually show up for your appointment, just wait, they will cancel the next one. If you buy the "We'll sell you the service plan, but never show up" maintenance plan, just remember this review...You'll be writing the same thing soon.

During maintenance service, technician stated there was a possible crack in the heat exchanger and was calling supervisor to confirm. Supervisor came and asserted was a crack and not safe to use until repaired or unit replaced. Also said the unit was filthy and again wanted us to have unit and ducts cleaned, an additional $1900. We contacted another A/C system provider who came and used a recording camera to photograph the same area (identified by scratch marks purposefully made by technician in previous inspection.) We watched the recording and the unit is quite clean despite the comments made by Beutler representative. No cracks were found and entire unit was carefully inspected using the recording camera. We are quite satisfied that the unit was very carefully reassessed and found to be in good condition and no repairs were needed. 11/18/13 We were contacted by a Beutler Service Supervisor who requested opportunity to recheck the equipment and concurrently have other provider present. 11/27/13 Both providers visited, examined the system and found same results. 12/2/13 PG&E conducted extended safety check; no carbon monoxide readings, no flame distortion; could not confirm presence of crack during operational conditions. We also had learned that our 12 year old system had a valid and current warranty for 20 years for the heat exchanger and have decided to continue to monitor the system closely with the second A/C system provider. We can replace using the warranty as appropriate. Provider recommendation: Use a recording camera to demonstrate any findings that cannot be readily seen by consumer. Consumer recommendation: Obtain a second opinion from another provider; second opinion from same company of questionable value. Can also obtain advice from dealer who installed system.

They serviced heating system and replaced smart vent motor. Recommended full vent cleaning; rejected as many consumer articles clarify is not an effective service. Wanted to upsell to replace system; declined as newly purchased home and too little experience to evaluate need. Purchased annual 2 visit plan; just realized didn't provide 2cnd service and will have to call to schedule. I purchased an annual service contract last year so there was no cost for this inspection. I find this company to be very honest which is a rarity in this business. Another like company in the area always find a major flaw in whatever they inspect to make money from the visit. One of the problems they quoted on a year ago was not the problem. What was quoted at $700-$800 last year was quoted by Buetler this year as $30-$40 and I can fix it myself.

They are very professional, and we are on a service plan with them to check out our system in spring and fall. We have a water cooled thing which needs to be checked in the spring and shut down in the winter. They know how to service it and not many people do. They had to replace a part of the heating system in my attic that had corroded over the years. They are a good outfit. They were timely, explained what they were doing, gave me a fair quote and did the job in the shortest time frame. I was happy with it.

Technician spent one hour inspecting and cleaning the heating system. He reviewed all the work performed including photos taken. He suggested performing a complete system and duct cleaning service in the near future but did not pressure me. This is a change in approach for Beutler and is very much appreciated.

Unit wasn't working, when regular maintenance came out and told us that we needed a new unit while it was the compressors and the coils were going out, and they pitched replacing the whole unit instead of fixing the individual parts.

My AC went out during a large party on the hottest day of the year. I have the Home Service Plan with Beutler which clearly states I have "priority servce" so I thought when I called they would respond back to me in a timely manner. When I called the company last night that person that answered the phone call after 5pm (answering service) they took all my information and stated they would call the on-call tech and he would call me back... NO CALL BACK that night. I called the company again at 10:30 this morning and they stated that they don't get the messages from the answering service until the following day, she had no answer as to why they DIDN'T call me back first thing this morning? They told me that the earlies they could get someone out to check the unit was the following day from 3pm to 7pm (2 days w/no A/C). The Home Service Plan (AKA Comfort Club) didn't provide me any "priority' what so ever!!! I called another company I found on Angies List and they're coming out tonight.

Went well. Arrived on time, used shoe covers, laid down cloths from door to attic access and carefully vacuumed after work was complete. Took about 6 hours, made sure I understood new thermostat. Installers were polite and careful of my property. Nothing was damaged. They all introduced themselves and shook hands. Sales Tech was well informed, provided information in an accessible way instead of pushing to make a sale. Advantages of each option was made clear and I was able to easily choose which was best for me. Several financing options were presented. Waited only a week for an installation appointment that worked for both of us. AC is working great. No problems. Would highly recommend.

Technition showed up on time and after looking at furnace told us "I have bad news your blower motor needs repalcement." and quoted us $1981.00 and also suggested that we consider replacing our eight year old system with a new one. Really... eight years old? $12,000 ever eight years...huh. Anyway we sent him packing and paid our $59.00 diagnostic fee after which I went online and found that I could buy a motor repalcement for about $900.00 but with more research found that the motor part that needed to be replaced was $30.00. I ordered the part online and when it arrived I pulled the GE motor out of the unit replaced the part reinstalled the motor and in about an hour of total labor our hvac was working again. Lets see $900.00 motor ( which I'm sure they could get a better price) $1000.00 labor for an hours work vs. $30.00 part an hour of my time...huh tough decision. Be carefule there are alot of businesses out there that need huge profits to subsidize the practice.

I would never recommend this company to anyone and I will never use them again. Beutler heating and air install the AC unit in my home and form the beginning; I had problems with this unit. Every summer I had to call for a service technician to come out and fix yet another problem. I have had nothing but bad experiences with this company from a rude receptionist to a service technician trying to get me to purchase a duct cleaning on my unit that was only three years old in the amount of $900.00. I have purchase their service maintenance for the past four years every year my AC would not work properly. I schedule and appointment three weeks in advance to service my AC under their one year agreement. The appointment was schedule on May 15, 2013 and on May 14th they called and cancel the appointment and left the message on my voice mail. They did not state the reason they cancel my appointment, when I called them to find out why the cancel they said that they were only servicing customers that had no air. And the next maintenance appointment would be around the end of June. That would have taken six weeks before a technician would come out to my home. She told me if I needed them to come out the next day that would be additional charge $59.00. I had already paid them $119.00 for the service agreement, the receptionist said that since my system was not working the maintenance agreement would not cover the service that I had orginally schedule. They cancel my appointment that was schedule and then wanted me to pay again for service tech to come out. I want to say out of all the technician that came out to my home (Donny) was the only one that gave me good service and did not try to sell me something that I didn't need.

We hired Beutler to perform a routine maintenance/tune-up on our heating system. During the service, the technician, Brian, detected hair-line cracks in the heat exchanger. If undetected and unrepaired, such cracks will widen and cause leaks with danger of carbon monoxide poisoning. Brian showed the cracks to me, using a mirror to show the cracks on the underside of the heat exchanger and comparing them to pictures of similar cracks in a service manual. A supervisor, Omar, came out the same day to confirm the finding. They recommended replacement of the heat exchanger or the furnace to remedy this dangerous situation. As we have a home warranty, the furnace replacement was performed by a different company chosen by the home warranty company. Of note, technicians from two different companies sent by the warranty company were unable to find the cracks in the heat exchanger until I pointed them out using a mirror I have, despite being told beforehand that the cracks were there. Brian was the only one who saw them the first time.

NOT WELL... I knew specifically what was needed when we called the company, namely the contactor switch, and that was all I asked to be replaced. However, the first guy to show up ... 1 - showed me photos of "a" blower filled with dust & dirt 2 - stated I need a brand new unit 3 - when he told to put unit back & forget it, he sabotaged the AC 4 - when I called company, they gave me run-a-round and the supervisor called us a liar saying his crew would never do that. 5 - no apology from anyone once it was discovered the tech did sabotage the AC. Upon further thought and speaking with others there was NO WAY the first guy could have taken photos of my units blower since he did not even take the blower apart or open it to see inside it; therefore the photos he showed me were NOT of my unit, and were very deceptive and dishonest. He is lucky we did not turn him into the State of CA Dept of Consumer Affairs. I would seriously consider checking into this if I were Beutler. When they finally sent someone back out to look at the unit after the first guy came out the 2nd guy found a wire was "disconnected" from inside the unit, preventing it from working properly once he left. , My AC broke down and they were the only company that could arrive that day. They gave a 4 hour window and the tech arrived in the first hour. He fixed the problem quickly and explained each step of the diagnosis and repair. I do not know if the final repair price was too low, too high or just right but having the AC working again the same day during a heat wave was priceless. The company touts that they have a large fleet and can respond to most calls within 24 hours. My experience indicates there is a good deal of truth in their claim. However the story is different when I asked the company to bid on a replacement HVAC. Their bid was easily 50% higher than everyone else. When I pointed this out, their estimator was willing to negotiate down the bid to something much more reasonable but it was still the highest bid. The problem is they bid bundled packages that contain useful but not necessary extras. An example is an electronic air filter. If you have someone with COPD or a severe allergy, this is useful but for most people it is not necessary. Trying to figure out what was really needed and what was useful enough for me to buy was tricky. They did offer to install the system faster than anyone else and claimed they could do it all in one day. However I decided not to go with them due to their higher price. The bottom line is this is a good choice for emergency repairs. But if asking for a bid to replace or install something, make sure you have another bid to compare before talking with them and be prepared to haggle.

Received a reminder card in the mail that I was due for a routine inspection of my furnace and AC, installed by Beutler when the house was built 5 years ago. I was disappointed to find out that they were not going to inspect the AC, only the furnace. The service technician was polite though quite young. He inspected the furnace and informed me that my hot surface ignitor (basically a glow plug) was reading high resistance and at risk of giving out soon. Glad to have found that out before it gave out. However he said it would be $337 to replace it! That seems pretty expensive when you consider that a spark plug is just a few bucks. Seeing my shocked expression, he said I could get a slight discount on the part if I sign up for their annual service plan for $169/yr. So his solution was to have me pay even MORE money?! Well I reluctantly told him to go ahead and replace it, but wasn't interested in an annual plan. I prompty got on the internet to see how much markup he was charging. Amazon had the OEM replacement part for $22, and a variety of others in the same price range. So that's a 1500% markup? No that's a SCAM. So I told the technician to put my old ignitor back in, I wasn't going to pay that much. He protested a bit but reluctantly obliged, then I sent him packing. So I bought the part on Amazon and installed it myself. It required removing one screw, and took about 30 seconds to install. The amazing thing was the part he tried to install was NOT the OEM original part, since he had to splice the wires rather than use the existing plug. Amazing. Was he dishonest and trying to make a quick buck, or is this Beutler's policy to rip off their customers? Either way Beutler is at fault and I will never do business with them again.
