Avila Tile

We were in the middle of having our pool deck replaced when we realized our plant to replace tiles after the concrete was poured would not work. Under a time deadline, we needed someone to come out and replace pool tiles. Urgently. Quickly. Victor Avila came by in the morning, looked at what was needed, and quoted us $600 to replace tiles that fell off in the pool deck removal and then noted that the "tunnel" between pool and spa was not done correctly and for an additional $100 could redo it so everything matched. It was a lot of money for a small job, but we were short on time and agreed. Replacing the tiles and such went fine, was done quickly. However, there was a big smear of grout on our 2 year old finish that Avila's workers either did not notice or care enough about to clean up. Victor had made quite a big presentation about the clean-up with my husband, so imagine our shock when we discover this hardened grout smeared below the replaced tiles 2 days later. They were punctual, available to do the job when we were under a severe time constraint - for which we paid a premium, and then left a big glob of grout that ruins any and all good work. We are disappointed. What could have been a positive, grateful experience has turned sour because the workers did not care to clean up appropriately.

Absolutely professional! The work was done as planned, quickly, and the clean-up was extensive. The workers had a huge collection of tools that they used throughout the day which were spread all over the yard. The debris from removing the old tile was immense but every last piece of garbage and all the equipment was gone by the end of the last workday. You would have never known that anybody had been there! Our pool looked great! Victor Avila always answered my calls on the first try which was nice! It was a pleasure to work with him.

We had an excellent experience with this tile company. He got here when he said he was going to be here. He was very much a gentleman and very well spoken. He worked with us to stay within our budget. He gave us really sound caring advice, instead of being greedy. A very classy guy. He was very organized and professional. Our pool looked immaculate afterwards, and they cleaned up their mess after they left. Wonderful!

Great experience overall.

I was given Victor Avila's name from a local tile company. I had two other estimates from other pool tile companies. When I called Avila's Tile I talked with Victor about our needs. I explained that I was completing a pool that was up to the gunite stage. We had left it that way since 2006 (due to changes in our finances from the economy). I told Victor that because of health issues we would not be staying in our home for more than four years. Therefore, our prime goal was to finish it economically and quickly so the kids could enjoy it. I told him because I wanted to save money, I would purchase the tile myself. Victor gave us a fair bid, and also a two year warranty. From the moment I talked with him on the phone and emails, he was professional, informative, and listened to what we needed. Trust me, I have called other companies and they think they knew what we wanted. Victor always promptly returned my questions and emails. He presented a bid quickly, and it was clearly outlined to us. When we called Victor to accept his bid, he was here within two days. He and his worker arrived early and set there equipment up. It is evident in his work in how effortlessly he puts on the tile, that he is a true artist and perfectionist. They worked together as a team extremely well. Victor did suggest a penny tile that he thought would save me money and work well with the tile I already had for the waterline. I am so excited how our pool tile turned out! The penny tile he recommended is the icing on the cake! It makes my economical pool, look like a jewel. After they completed the job they cleaned up their job site. I would highly recommend Avila's Tile for any job he chooses to endeavor. It is so nice to work with someone who enjoys his work and takes pride in what he does.

We met Victor Avila at the home show in early February and signed up to get a quote for having our pool tiled. Victor called 3 days after the home show and provided a quote in a very timely and professional manner. Quote was very fair and so we contracted him to do the work. He arrived when he said and was finished when he promised. He put new brick coping around our (very old) pool, he installed tile around the inside and also built steps in the pool. Our pool looks really good now and is no longer an embarrassment. He also helped us choose the colors when we weren't sure what colors to go with. It was just like yard -crashers - he was in and out in less than 3 days! We're looking forward to using him again on our next project..
