Armstrong Plumbing

Quickly and completely cleared all the clogged house drains, laundry room, bathrooms and drain to the street. John Huntington took the service call and made sure that the drains in the whole house were clear. With 3 children in the house and 2 adults, it was a life saver.

The repairs went very well.They had estimated it would take about half a day to complete the work and that was right on target. The problem was a broken pipe connection in the wall behind the sink, and Justin showed me the pipe and explained what happened.

The hot water heater was not strapped as required by code. The plumber had never replaced filters in a system like ours and spent hours doing it (charging all the while), ended up creating a leak under the sink that Milt came out and fixed without additional cost. The plumber fixing the toilet said he had the same problem at his house and I'd need to jack hammer up the floor. Repair estimate was near $1,000. Milt came out once again and fixed the problem in a very short time and charged over $300. When I was surprised at how much the cost was for how quickly he fixed it, he said I should be thankful it didn't cost as much as the other plumbers estimate. Nice people, end result good plumbers, overpriced. Morale: don't send a plumber out unless he knows what he's doing.

Peter had another job near by but couldn't start it right away so he squeezed me in in the meantime. He showed up right on time and was done in less than 20 minutes. Very nice guy. Hope I get him again in the future.

I felt the sales rep was the most truthful and warned me of possible extra so I selected them. Their price was the best for the main sewer line. They so far have been great to work with. They came out prompt and cleaned the line for me. They explained everything they did and will need to do very well. I'm so far very impressed.

I could not get a response from Armstrong. Disappointing because we had been pleased with their service in the past. Note: Their follow-up on this issue shows me they are committed to good service. I'd use them again.

The gentleman was very knowledgeable. He was here and gone real quick because he knew exactly what the problem was.

Their cost is $130 to come out, so they are not cheap but with their work they know a lot about the homes. They were just very knowledgeable, they explained what was going on and what some of my options were. They were on time and they were just really professional.

We got him from Angie's List. They were great and really honest. They were quick to respond. They didn't try and up sell us at all and just fixed the problem. I would recommend them again.

Answered the phone on the first ring, set up an appointment two days later. Called before showing up, showed up on-time, had the part on the truck. Cost was exactly what was expected. Excellent service all around

This "F" looks great next to the other recent bad grades. Maybe this is a wonderful company, but they failed with me. I only clicked on this company was because they were at the top. I read the reviews and still gave them a chance. I clicked on their website to find out more information. This is when I noticed a live chat via typing available. I clicked on this and started to enquirer about my question. The first question the lady asked was "whats your phone number and email?" I'm asking about a plumbing issue and they don't seam to care about my issue only want to start their file. I played along and gave my info. Then proceeded to ask my question. In which I was told that a service professional would call me. I wanted info. If I wanted to talk to someone I would have called the number all over the website. This really put me out because on other web sites, that I have this chat feature, the person that I type to actually was able to help me with either all of my problem or enough info to get me through the trouble time. I explained this and was told that she was only an operator and her job was to direct me to a specialist. I told her not to have anyone call me I would call the number on the screen. I called the number and basically got the same response. This is just an operator. If I call a mechanic about an issue about my car, they can give me basic information. I explained my frustration to her about the live chat and this call only to be told that the business is closed. This was shocking when the first bold line under their number is "24 hour service." I said fine have a tech call me. She said "Steve" would call me with in 15 min. I guess my 15 minutes is not up yet because I have not received a call. I still have an issue. I believe there was a complaint in Dec. about a man calling and his problem not being solved. Now a few weeks later the same issue has occurred.

The plumbers did arrive a little late without an explanation but I just assumed that they had been held up on their first job but I do feel I should have been called and told they were running late but a minor item which I quickly forgot once they got to work. The plumber Justin, I believe, had an apprentice with him and they explained everything they were going to do before they did it and the plans did change from the original quote but that was fine with me as it caused less damage to my concrete and made the repair quicker. They both acted very professionally, cleaned up after themselves, worked quickly and minimized any noise generated, including digging through concrete. The best part of the whole job is I now have a perfectly working laundry at half the cost of what another Plumbing Company quoted me that uses commissioned plumbers, something that Armstrong Plumbing does not do and their honest pricing reflects it. In addition and in closing, I received a personal thank you letter from the CEO, Marcelle Flowers, thanking me for my business and a $20 off coupon for future labor. Now that's what I call Customer Service !

I am very surprised that I am having to write a negative review about Armstrong Plumbing. My past experience with Armstrong was a STRAIGHT-A review. My only guess is that something must have gone wrong with the company or at least for me. As I write this, I am still leaking water above my ceiling between my bathroom and closet. And Armstrong has completely blown me off. Gasp! On the 30th close to midnight, I discovered a major leak/flooding between shared closet and bath wall. On the 31st, bright and early, I called Coit. They're are like magic, they came immediately. They practically beamed themselves over - they arrived so quickly. Also, I called Armstrong Plumbing that morning and spoke with Michelle. I explained my situation. I offered to send her photos so that they would be prepared upon arrival. *What's leaking is the coupler joint between one of the water pipes and it leaks 24/7! I told her that I would email one of the owners, because I have in the past, communicated directly with Matt. Michelle, In an excited tone, asked that I not. Ok...So, I agreed not too and she assured me she would get me dispatched. I did as said, sent her an email. Coit left and asked, "do you have a plumber coming?" I declared, uh... no, not yet. I'm waiting to hear back from Armstrong. They said, "we can't do any work until the leak is repaired because any work we do will get wet." Makes sense! I waited all morning and day, not a peep from Michelle. I called again that afternoon and got another person that said she was busy and put me on hold. Instead, she hung up on me in error I assume. called back. The lady said, oh... our lines are busy and have 5 other calls going. [It's great to be busy, right?] Anyway, she took a message. So here we are on the 2nd of January and I'm leaking water, fan blowers and dehumidifiers going and I'm leaking water. and Armstrong still has blown me off. I AM REALLY DISAPPOINTED. Not because they didn't jump and come to my demanding attention because I understand being busy. But, they have hired staff to make phone calls and send emails. They even have my cell phone. So why not Email, Phone or Text? Shame on Armstrong. Really bad communication and this is unfortunate. Basically, a courtesy, SORRY DAVID, WE ARE TOO BUSY BUT WE CAN RECOMMEND ANOTHER PLUMBING FIRM would give me immediate notice to look for another plumber rather than wait. Instead, they just let me wait while water leaks until I give-up. This is really bad service for someone who is having a home owner water flooding crisis. Very friendly. Spent a lot of time waiting for glue to dry. Spent a lot of time waiting for a self flush after repair to make sure repair worked.

The plumber was prompt, knowledgeable, and fast. No problems, no complaints

PG&E found leaks and turned off the gas to my house. I called Armstrong, based on List recommendations. Scott came out the next workday to scope the job and give an estimate. He was thorough, took photos, talked through likely options, and helped schedule the work. Six days later, plumbers came, armed with Scott's photos and suggestions. Clete explained his strategies as events unfolded. He and his assistant worked carefully, intelligently, and industriously. After repairing external leaks, they spent hours in the crawl space under the house, where they found and repaired perhaps 10 leaks, dealt with a pipe that broke, and sometimes coughed. It was much worse than expected. They took no lunch break. Clete cancelled his 3 o'clock dental appointment to finish the job. True, they started an hour later than scheduled, probably because the assistant had worked an emergency call the previous night and got little sleep. They did hard, trying work in conditions most humans couldn't tolerate, and continued being caring and courteous. What heroes.

The plumber did a great job! he was progressional and was very proficient. Since it was a short notice request the price was $195 which I did agree to pay. So I have no complaints. Thanks for showing up and doing a great job Armstrong Plumbing

Mike fixed two toilets and a slow/non-draining bathtub in less time and cost and 2 other plumbers I've had over here who couldn't seem to figure it out -- one even wanted to tear out the opposite wall to get to the pipes. He definitely made my week!! I'll be relying on Armstrong Plumbing (and hopefully Mike) in the future.

I had hoped this to be a review of services performed, but I can only speak to their responsiveness. I needed a plumber to fix a leaky shutoff valve under the kitchen sink, and after browsing all the plumbers on Angie's List, I selected Armstrong based on their overall grade, years in business, and reviewer comments on work done. Since I do much of my work online, and since the job was not urgent, I made the decision to schedule an appointment on their website. I completed the work request, explained the scope of work, and even selected a preferred date, 5 days out. This was on a Monday. Their website indicated someone would be contacting me soon to schedule. By Thursday, we had not heard from them, so I called them and only got their "exchange" and was asked to leave a message with the Operator. By that point, I simply wanted some immediate information, and chose not to have to then wait for a callback at some undetermined time. Friday came and went. It may well be that they are so popular and busy that they can't keep up with customer demand, or that they aren't managing their online services well. Regardless, first impressions are everything, so I'm going to try the same online attempt at Ace Plumbing (my second choice) and see how that goes.

Mark from Armstrong Plumbing just left my house and I had to take the time to write a review. This is my second time hiring this company and I couldn't be happier!!!! Everyone from scheduling to the actual service call has been a pleasure. I had been calling a plumber that did our remodel for two weeks. After canceling twice and two no shows I decided it was time to call someone else. So I called ARMSTONG PLUMBING. We used them the first time for an emergency leak during our remodel and were pleased. So decided to give them another opportunity. This time we needed all the plumbing moved to acommate a new sink vanity. Mark tried everything not to have to cut a hole in the dry wall but ultimately had to make the cut in order to do a clean job. The pipes now fit perfectly in the space behind the vanity. He even configured it so I didn't lose space in my draw or shelf. Mark called ahead, was on time, did an AWESOME job, and even cleaned up after himself! Next time we need a plumber I won't waste time calling anyone else! If anyone needs a plumber call these guys. I can't say enough positive about this company.

The clog happened at 4:30 in the afternoon. I got an appointment for 10am the next morning. Plumber was very efficient and professional.

Estimator came on time, asked questions and provided quote a day later. Compared estimate against other plumbers. Armstrong earned contract based on value. The install team, Clete and Kenny, did a wonderful job. They were professional, experienced, cared and performed duties exactly as stated on the quote. We could not be happier with the job. The estimate was provided and the work completed in a very timely manner. The area was left in good condition and we have had no problems with the install or the heater. Works great. Used their service again for another issue.
