Description of Work: I used Armstrong Plumbing BEFORE I joined Angie's List. Armstrong worked on a drain when it backed up. I just checked to see if Armstrong was on Angie's list. I was impressed with the quality of personnel and thejob done.

Description of Work: We needed a utility pump replaced in the basement laundry room. We supplied the pump. Joe gave a rather high quote for the work, which resulted in some delay in getting on the schedule because of my query about it. His work is efficient and excellent, with high quality additional supplied materials. The final result is solid, working well, and came in at a lower final price than the quote. I have used Armstrong Plumbing in the past. They have always been excellent, reliable, and professional.

Description of Work: I sent a request for service to Armstrong on 2/17 and after not hearing from them, I phoned them on 2/20/15. They said they had not received my request. I told them I had a leaking toilet that I needed pulled and also help in pulling up the travertine tiles around the toilet so I could see how much water damage there was. The woman I spoke to said they don't do that type of work. I guess I misunderstood when their website said they did remodel work. The woman said she would check with the boss to see if they could help with pulling back the tiles to expose the sub floor and she would call me back. I never received a return call.

Description of Work: I called with a minor issue (major to me)and instead of coming out to evaluate and obviously make some money doing so, he (I'm sorry I can't recall the name)asked me if I was handy and explained how to take care of the job myself! When is the last time anyone gave that kind of service? He knew it would be a little time consuming for him and weighed out the income/time ratio and opted to throw me a bone and tell me how to fix it. The best customer service...his parents taught him well!

Description of Work: We have a solar hot water system which must be drained each year before the first hard freeze. Two copper tubes connect the solar panel to the water heater. Each tube has a shut-off valve. One of the shut off valves leaked. On Friday morning, Jan 2, I called Armstrong to replace both valves (since I didn't know which was leaking). Armstrong's dispatcher said an estimator would contact me that afternoon. No one did. I called Armstrong again Saturday AM. The person answering said an estimator would come by that afternoon. Justin appeared as scheduled but spent about 40 minutes trying to understand the system. That time included a long cell-phone call by Justin to someone at Armstrong's office who apparently explained the system to Justin. Justin then cut both pipes and capped the ends. That took him between 15 and 20 minutes. He then gave me an invoice for $235 and told me he was providing complete info to the Armstrong office so they could call me Monday with an estimate to replace the valve's. That was a full week ago; no one has called yet. I was billed $235 to cap the two lines which required only a few minutes. Justin was pleasant although ignorant of the basics of solar systems. However, Armstrong's scheduling was faulty and their charging excessive.

Description of Work: We had a clogged toilet that wouldn't flush. After removing the toilet it was found that the drain was clogged with tree roots. The drain was thoroughly cleaned and the toilet was reset (using new bolts as the old rusted bolts broke off during removal). My only complaint is that a piece of the laminate floor underneath the toilet cracked off during the toilet removal.

Description of Work: Armstrong Plumbing replaced our old water heater. They did a great job hauling away all the old equipment and installing a new water heater that was fully up to code. They left the garage clean as well. They were a little pricier than some other quotes we received, but they were way more professional. I have a lot of confidence in their work.

Description of Work: I called to make an appointment. They told me that one of their professional staff will contact me. They never called.
