Armstrong Plumbing

We made an appointment and they arrived on time. Jacob introduced himself, put on his booties to protect our flooring and we discussed the items needing repair. He then put together a proposal and explained it thoroughly. During the course of the project it was quite apparent that Jacob knew what he was doing. He seemed very knowledgeable and conducted himself in a very professional manner. The work was completed in a timely manner and with no surprises or hidden costs. Great company, great employee, great work! We wouldn't hesitate calling upon them anytime a plumbing issue comes up. Thank you Jacob and Armstrong Plumbing for another job well done.

The problem started about 6:30 Saturday morning. We went to Angie's List because we had seen advertisements explaining what the list did. We are glad we did. We found Armstrong Plumbing on the list, called them, they were excellent. The plumber was here promptly, diagnosed the problem . He found the water softener failed(it's old) and the system breached causing small beads to clog the faucets and hose to our washer. Everything was done promptly. We are very pleased with the service and will call them again with any future plumbing issues.

They’re very good! The joint had rotted out and they were very skilled in replacing it. I’d say they’re my go-to plumber at this point. They have two pricings, and it’s a lower cost if you plan it out (vs. an urgent call).

I was about to leave the house, when I heard a loud gushing sound coming from the wall between the bathroom and a bedroom. There was an already cut area of drywall. I pried a corner off and was hit with hot steam. I called Armstrong Plumbing and was initially told they'd have to see where they could fit me in. I stressed that this was a real emergency. I was told they'd send someone over right away. In the meantime, the "leak" had burst through the drywall. It was a geyser. If it hadn't been hitting a piece of furniture in the middle of the room, it would have spewed to the opposite wall. A lake was forming in the bedroom. I was really upset, as I had new hardwood floors. In my panic, I forgot where the shut-off valve was. I was running around the outside of the house crying and repeatedly saying "OMG!", looking for the shut off valve. I saw a truck park around the corner, and I begged for help. Turned out he was the father of my new neighbor. He immediately found the shut off valve. Then he brought over his wet/dry vac and sucked up the lake. I dried the floor with towels. Shortly thereafter, Clete from Armstrong Plumbing arrived, and quickly found the leak. He replaced the brass coupling, which had a large crack in it.

They’re really responsive, good, on time, and overall fantastic! They’re very efficient and very reliable. They’re definitely our go-to plumbers at this point.

Great guys, very pleasant and courteous. Professional work. And the followup was the best part. I had a minor issue with the bill and the customer service manager called and basically offered to do whatever it took to make me happy. He was very nice about it, too - he didn't patronize me or talk down to me at all. No company is perfect. But what can make a company great is how it handles the inevitable problems. These folks were outstanding on that front.

The work went smoothly even though we have lived in our home for many years and never had the various elements updated. The plumber who came was courteous and friendly. Providing us with a high quality vanity faucet when the one we had purchased would not work. We definitely will employ Armstrong plumbing again for future plumbing needs. .

I had an appointment set up for 2 to 4. George called me at about 12 saying he could come over sooner, and after I told him to come on over he arrived about 30 minutes later. The job did not go easily because an outside clear out was not easily accessible. He tried to clear the clog from the drain side, but was not able to get through. George was able to locate the outside drain. It was necessary to punch a hole in the line so that he could get a snake in the drain. After working on the drain for a bit after that he was able to clear what was obviously a really massive build up. He placed a temporary patch on the hole and advised to have a clean out installed in that location. George told me that if the drain had a clean out installed already he would have been finished in under an hour and the cost would have been about half of what it ended up being.

Sewer line replacement: We received an estimate for $2235 to replace the sewer line, which was supposed to cover labor and materials. They charged us $3,120 just for labor PLUS $291.80 materials. (huh?) Final cost: 39 percent over estimate, AND they charged us for materials. Surprise! Number 1 Permits: During the course of work, they had to pull two permits. We finally received a verbal estimate of $1,000 for that portion of the work. Armstrong told us the cost of Permit No 1 was $600 and "a couple hundred" for the other. Final cost: $1,208. 12 percent over verbal estimate Surprise!! Number 2 Water line replacement Received verbal estimate of $300-$400 Final cost: $503 25 percent over verbal estimate Surprise!!!! Number 3. All those surprises added up to a total of $5248.69. We were anticipating total costs of $3,635 ($2235 sewer line + $400 water line + $1,000 for permits) My calculator tells me that's a $1,613 difference I guess what I'd want other people to know about Armstrong is that at no point during the course of the work were we informed about how costs were escalating or why. It should have been a simple courtesy for them to do, right? I mean, just give us a call and let us know. Instead we found out how much we owed only after we received an invoice by email. I wrote to Armstrong expressing these same thoughts. Never heard a word from them. I paid them using my $20 Angie's list coupon.

Our bathrooms and showers suddenly backed up in our newly purchased home. I saw other deals, but Armstrong plumbing was rated high by others on Angie?s list and now I know why. Also, Armstrong staff explained over the phone I could go for one of the deals I saw online where I would receive a plethora of service, but I might not need it and could end up paying for more than what was necessary. They were right; I didn?t need all the service promised by the other offer. Mike showed up on time and immediately went to work on resolving the problem. We had no idea if this had always been a problem or something that just came up since we?ve only been in the home a couple of weeks. He checked what looked like the drain plug, but it ended up being a drain for runoff. They finally found the correct drainage and fixed the problem. Mike did not charge for the time spent on the wrong drain. Additionally, they provided advice on how to handle such problems in the future on our own. Overall, my wife and I are happy with their service. We know who to call next time.

We don't have dual pane glass in our home (built in 1970) so we hired Brothers to replace one of our sliding glass doors in 2013 ($1472). We then hired them a year later to replace the other slider and window in kitchen which they did at the original estimate from a year ago ($1806). They were professional, pleasant and got the job done. The window and sliders look gorgeous and we are very pleased. Great warranty as well.

He came out 3 different times. The total amount for all three was $580. He first came(1/17/14) out for a leak under our master bathrooms sink and fixed that. Also pulled the guest bathroom toilet out as it was leaking($201). He replaced the wax ring. Came out a 2nd time(1/27/14) to repair a leak under the sink($119). Had him come back a 3rd time(3/18/14) as the guest bathroom was still leaking. He assessed that a plumber we hired before him did not repair the flange properly. He took care of that($260). No more leaks anywhere. He wore booties over his shoes every time he entered the house.

The first time the sink drain was not fully cleaned out,and they followed up without charge. These guys are great, they are on time and guarantee that the job is done properly.

He went to all lengths to make sure my stove gas line was set up to finally be completely installed by the seller of the stove. The stove is a dual-fueled stove--gas top and electric ovens--and required final installation of the electric cord and setting up of stove parts and leveling correctly. I would definitely recommend Armstrong to anyone else. By the way, the other company did not even call me back until three days later.

I was having work done on my driveway and it was brought to my attention that the problem might be the sewer, I had already had the city out to check and they said it was fine. It was explained that the city doesn't check everything. So I jumped onto Angie's list to find a plumber who could come out and check my sewer for crack or damage the same day. Because they were fully booked they added to the the end of a day. So it was dark by the time Milton arrived at my house. He was great, he had to do a lot of extra stuff just to help me find my sewer access point (which was not the same as the city's? who knew?). Anyway, he had to dig his way under a bush that had grown over it, with me holding a flashlight so he could see what he was doing. He did find a minor issue that they city should have seen and suggest that I contact them again. With his help, the city actually fixed the pipe before the drive way work was completed. I was very happy with the service and would use them again.

Very well.There was some tension between the plumber & my wife when she began asking questions, but it disipated quickly and the appointment went better than anticipated and a future with that particular plumber was arranged.

They have been our plumber for a couple of years now. They are fast, professional, their prices are comparable, and they are very nice.

Job: Relocate 10' gas pipe 4-6". Floor of garage attic was compromised because previous installer cut out boards to allow pipe to pass. Someone was suppose to call 30 minutes prior to arriving so my husband could be there when plumber arrived, however, no one called. Reason for not calling: His phone didn't work. Individual could not provide an estimate. Hello? Made another appointment for that same day at 10am (Friday, March 21, 2014) for his supervisor to provide us with an estimate. We met and he stated that he would send an estimate no later than Monday via email. Today is Tuesday and we never heard from them. All they had to say was, " we can't do the job, we don't want the job, or we don't like your pipe", or something. We heard nothing from them. Had we known they were so unreliable and that we would have to wait a very long time for an estimate we would have chosen another company. They were aware that were doing renovation work and that we needed it completed right away. All in all, it makes me realize having numerous reviews and rewards doesn't always mean the company is the right choice. We were also considering installing a new tankless water heater but they weren't interested in that either. Hmmmm?

Great service! The provider was responsive and prompt. When he arrived he was very friendly and assessed the situation immediately. He then fixed it and educated me along the way so that I can now save some money down the road by avoiding the situation in the future. Really terrific service! I have always used another plumber and used this company for the first time because it was after-hours and my usual plumber wasn't available. I would hesitate to use this company again.

I like everything about Armstrong Plumbing. They take care of any problems you have and are very responsive. They're very good.

Justin came out from Armstrong the same day I called, he looked the situation over and pulled off the faucet then turned off the water to the house, it kind of puzzled him at first then he took the faucets insides out and found it frozen up after all my house is over 40 years old so guess they don't last forever. Justin had a part in his truck so he replaced the part tested it then went and turned on the water and it worked. My problem was solved. Thank you Justin for a job well done and thank you Armstrong for a fast service. I will use you again when I need plumbing.

It was excellent. George came in and cleared the drain in no time at all.

It went very well. We were delighted it was a minor repair job. This was for a dishwasher in a 1947 home with old plumbing, and we were handling it over the phone for our tenant. Armstrong was super responsive and quickly resolved the problem. I was also very impressed with their followup: one of the office staff called a week or so later to ensure the job was done satisfactorily. And, the office staff mailed a copy of the invoice without being asked.

Was fortunate enough to get a same day appointment for a leak under one of my upstairs bathroom sink. George was able to diagnose the problem sufficiently. He needed some parts that the did not have on hand and immediately went back to his office to pick up the part, and did not charge me any extra labor time for doing so. George was professional and very good at explaining the issues with the leak. Will be using this company again.
