He had to charge me an extra $30 as a travel charge but he called me and let me know ahead of time. He worked out really well and was very kind and efficient. His work was very clean and he didn’t leave stuff around. I’ve used lots of electricians and he’s been one of the best.
Description of Work: I bought a Big Deal with him. He fixed the ceiling fan in my bedroom and I had him check out a couple of other minor electrical work for me.

He was able to schedule me about a week after I first contacted him. He was on time and professional and for a small fee, I ended up getting a much nicer dimmer switch than I had before.
Description of Work: I found Ken through Angie's Big Deal and was very pleased with his work. He was able to fix two things that have bugged me a long time - a dimmer switch that rarely worked and a breaker that kept tripping.

Ken Adams with Anything Electric patiently worked with my schedule to perform the repairs at my home. I was thanful for The Big Deal I got through Angie's List. Ken's 2 hours of work could have been astronomical with another provider and without the discount.
Description of Work: He replaced a doorbell, a motion light, checked and showed me how to replace the batteries in all my fire alarms, fixed a loose light bulb in the garage door opener, and answered a number of general questions about my electrical panel and overhead fax fixture. I would highly recommend Ken's' services to anyone in need of electrical repair.

Description of Work: I was introduced to Anything Electric through Angies List Big Deal. The owner of Anything Electric, Ken Adams, installed 4 ground fault breakers. The location and access to the breaker boxes were not easy (old and short leads), but despite the difficulty Ken was able to handle the job well. Friendly and professional service. I would use Anything Electric again without hesitation. Mike

The electrician that came out was extremely reliable. He was completely accurate with his quotes. He didn’t fudge around with the numbers. He went out of his way to fit my request into his schedule. We got into a conversation about running business and things like that. The more he was talking, the more I kept thinking that he has read the same book that I just read which is based on Entrepreneurship and Leadership. I ended up asking him and found out that he had read the same book I was reading. That was really impressive for me because that book is all about doing business with integrity and treating people like human beings and not just another dollar sign. That’s exactly how I felt I was treated too. He operates with integrity and he does extra mile. He is honest and his work was efficient. I also got a bid on more things for which we would probably end up going back to him and have him do those as well. I needed the bids first to figure out how to fit it into our budget. His price was in line with the others but he was more knowledgeable. I was really impressed with him. I would absolutely use him again.

This was my second time using Ken's services and I continue to be satisfied with the work and help I've received. Ken and Luke showed up early and got right to work. So far everything with my house has been difficult and this was no exception. They ran into a few problems, but nothing they couldn't handle. It took about 5 hours to complete, but now I have two updated outlets in my living room, one in my kitchen and another in my master bedroom. They cleaned up after themselves and it didn't look like anyone had been working there. Unfortunately this is not the end of the work my house needs, but at least I know I have someone I can call to help me get everything done.

Ken and his assistant Luke showed up on time and put up 9 fixtures that had been taken down. They also but up a new fixture I had purchased beforehand. It's so nice to have light in my house again. He also gave me an estimate for more work (replacing some 2 prong outlets with 3 prong outlets) that I need to have done. I will definitely be using him again.
Description of Work: Purchased the Big Deal for 2 hours worth of work for $79. I had just bought my house and all my light fixtures were down after removal of the acoustic ceiling and retexturing.

heThere are three things that I don't like: 1. I purchased brand new replacement light bulbs from Homedepot right before he came. The package contains 3 brand new 65w flood light bulbs made by Philips. When he tried to install with the first light bulb, he told me it's not working and asked me for another one. The 2nd one worked. However, I installed the first one in my kitchen and it is also working. 2. The light bulb he installed on the first visit might have been damaged by installation instead of manufacturing defectiveness. However, instead of showing sorry for the inconvenience it has caused, he complained that he hate to come back to work on the light again and again for no money. 3. Finally, when he first arrived here, he told me that the Angie's list big deal really drive him crazy because there are so many of them and there is no money in it and the only reason why he is doing it is to get good reviews so he can get more business. He spent about 30 minutes to replace the light bulb and took out the paper for me to sign and left while I expected him to spend 2 hours in my home. When I purchased all my other Angie's list big deals, all the other professionals stayed 2 hours in my home trying to help me out on all the related things that I can think of until the time is up. He is the only exception. I think $79 for 30 minutes is really good and he still complained that there is no money in it.
Description of Work: The light bulb in my bath room went out and it was not working after I replaced a new light bulb. I purchased $79 for 2 hours electrician service through Angie's list to help me out. Ken came and take the light fixture down and replaced the light bulb then left. When he was here he did show me that the light bulb was working. However, when I used it that night, the light bulb lighted up for 2 seconds then went off again. I called him and he came back the next day and found the light bulb was physically broken into pieces around the neck. He replaced the light bulb again and it worked after that.

Response from Anything Electric
A clarification is needed to the member's post. When I first examined his light fixture, I informed the member that the shower fixture was not a correct fixture for a wet location. However, after troublingshooting why the fixture would not work, I discovered that the bulb was blown. I replaced the blurb and informed member that the light fixture should really be replaced as the current one would not work properly and would continue to blow blubs because of the water and humidity. I replaced the blub. The member did not ask me to do any other repairs while I was there. He called me that evening and said his wife got into the shower and the light worked and then quit again. I rearranged my schedule so that I could return to his house the first thing in the morning. I examined the blub and noticed that the blub was cracked all the way around the neck. I replaced the blub and it worked again. I informed member again that the fixture is the wrong fixture for a wet location. Regarding the member's comment about why I agreed to the Angie's list discount. I did mention to the member that I did agree to Angie's List discount for electrical services because of the potential for future customers and for comments from people I have completed work. It's true. However, my purpose in telling the member this was to help him understand that I could not keep coming to his house to replace the light blub because he is unwilling to replace the improper light fixture. Actually, the cost associated with replacing the light fixture would be about 2 hours and approximately $50 for the fixture. The member also purchased another discount and asked me to meet him at one of his rental properties. After inspecting the problem, I found that he had hired a plumber who had connected and rewired copper to aluminum and placed under the tub without access to the junction box. I informed the member that I would not work on this project because the rewiring was not completed by a licensed electrician and was not to code -- it could potentially be a hazard. In addition, a standard outlet was installed next to the sink when it should have been a GFI. I asked him if he needed anything else done -- he said no he would talk to the plumber. I am sorry that the member was not pleased with my work. However, I am a licensed electrician and I am required by law to ensure that work I complete is done per code. In addition, I firmly believe that customers should only pay for the work once so it should be done correctly. It is my opinion that the member did not want to invest any money to fix the light fixture correctly.

The new outside light fixture did not have all the parts. Ken was able to use the existing parts of the old fixture and made it work. While he was there, I asked him about our outside landscape light that wasn't working. He took the time to figure out why it was not working; checked the other lights to see how they were set up and configured; he then fixed the landscape light. The wires had somehow been severed from the connection. We were having a dinner party that weekend and we were very pleased to have our lights working!

Went fine. He was able to handle frustration as well as could be expected.
Description of Work: Called back quickly and able to come in a few days. Pleasant and professional. I had a loss of power in one area of my house and it took some diligence and tenacity to search out the cause. It was simple once found, (reset button on a GFI plug). He repaired my garage light and inspected the wiring of my whole house fan. He was timely and accommodating.
Description of Work: I recommend Ken to anyone, but especially those looking for an honest Electrician. I called him out, because I was told my whole house fan was plugged in by an extension cord. I had asked him to install a dedicated electrical outlet for it. After examining it Ken stated it was not plugged in by an extension cord and it was up to code (though he would not have done it that way). Ken could have easily taken advantage of me and made some money. He is an honest and professional Electrician. He also repaired my garage light while he was there. I can't say enough about how indebted I am to him for his honesty.

Anything Electric solved a problem with our pool filter timer that two other companies could not. Ken is a real professional electrician who was able to solve the problem because he took the time to analyze and understand what was happening.
Description of Work: We had a tricky problem with our pool filter timer that had stumped 2 previous electricians/pool service people. The automatic timer would seem to work for a couple of days and then stop. After almost giving up, we called Ken at Anything Electric who really dug in to figure out that that we had a clock problem plus the previous guys had wired it all wrong. It wasn't simple and took two tries but he stayed with it and fixed the problem. Ken also followed up to make sure that the timer continued to work given our previous experiences.

Ken was very pleasant and patient throughout (some of these problems were tricky). He attempted to replace a switch in the fluorescent fixture in order to save me some money ~ he was unsuccessful just because they don't make them anymore. He explained in detail (I was interested so I could learn about what he was doing) what each little job entailed. He was a little late which was to be expected since my appointment wasn't the first one of the day, but he called to let me know and gave me an estimate of his arrival time. I will be calling him again if I ever need other electrical work done. A warning... he seems busy so be prepared to wait a few weeks before he can get to you, but perhaps that's not always the case.

Job was more complicated than it sounds; Ken and his assistant spent most of one day installing the fixtures. They were very professional; kitchen was left spotless including ceiling touch up paint. We had the chandelier sitting in the garage for two years because the quotes we received for installation ($500) were more than it was worth. Ken's price was very reasonable given the high quality of his work.
Description of Work: Install three in-ceiling can lights and three under-cabinet fixtures in the kitchen; install retrofit box in wall for outlet/recpt. and switch; put together and install chandelier in two-story main entrance; price includes three eyeball fixtures, bulbs, recpt. cover (owner supplied under-cabinet lights).

Could not have gone better! Ken goes out of his way to be there for you... even when I couldn't be! Although his expertise is electric, he was willing to help me out with a smaller job at my dad's place. I live in another city, but had met Ken (thanks to Angie's list!) on a previous electrical job at my dad's. It went so well I asked him for a recommendation on a small window repair job, knowing he was a contractor as well. Fortunately for me, he was available and willing to help us out even though it wasn't a very big job and my dad is a challenge to say the least! ;) Wasn't available immediately, but in my opinion he's well worth the wait! Honest. Fair. Upfront. All the way around, a really good guy with a good team behind him. I would recommend Ken and Anything Electric without reservation or hesitation. In a word, Ken ROCKS! :)

Poor.incident....And at present day, the lights off and on -- just simultaneously. But maybe not the contractor's fault ??? I have an ordinary problem I will call this contractor. But ... not extraordinary problem..
Description of Work: The first encounter with the contractor with an electrical problem, the contractor several installing (porch, back yard) lighting. He had a work estimate. Then he completed the outside work. Then I tell him that he had a problem inside, with two rooms that lights on and off. So he said it's a problem with my remote with the ceiling fans/lights. So I looked for the replaced remote (to have to match the first bedroom). Then to Home Depot and can find the remotes. Then I looked at the internet that the mfr has recalled the remotes. So I asked the mfr to replace the remotes. So then it took a while for his contractor (he was busy). On Oct. 28, he went to my house. There was no estimate. Then he removed the ceiling fan/light on one bedroom. He looked at the transmitter and the serial number was not recalled. Then he went to his home to get a part(device). Then he re-installed the ceiling/fan and he billed the work and he said he CANNOT repair the lights UNTIL the lights were dark. I've spent the money, and no repair.

I spoke with him and scheduled some time to come by and quote the job. Due to a sudden death in my family I had to travel out of state. I did receive a voice mail from him while out of state to confirm our appointment. However, I did not have a return contact number within the voice mail to call him back to let him know what had happened. I just returned back to Sacramento. I will try and give him a call to explain what had happened.

Ken was very responsive and was able to come out, give an estimate and perform all of the service within a four day period. Took care of several wall switches that were bad, installed two floor receptacles, installed 3 digital timers for outside lights, fixed a broken ceiling fan and covered up some outside lights so bugs won't get up inside. Great job!
Description of Work: Ken and Jimmy were great. They fixed a list of varied electrical problems and even solved a problem my husband said couldn't be solved! They were very neat and very aware of safety. Hopefully won't need more service soon but if I do I will definitely call Ken.
