The dish washer wasn't draining so supposedly for $300 he cleaned it all up and got it all working, he said that was the cheap way to go. He took the job the dish washer was working so I wrote him a good review. Well about three days after I wrote him the review a computer chip burned out, he wanted $300 to come by and change it out and so I told them well I wont repeat what I told them but I will never use them again. They got a nice little scam going.

Phil arrived on time and kept me abreast as he worked on my machines. Both are old and he had no problem replacing belts and hoses that were definitely needed! I felt very appreciative of the care and communication given/offered.

Finally, I've found an honest, reliable Appliance Repair Service. Called this a.m. and left message - Phil called back within a few hours and scheduled an appt for that same afternoon. My dishwasher has been going out for sometime now and I finally called to see what was going on. I truly thought I was going to have to replace it BUT when I compared what I would have to spend on a new one - of equal value - it was apparent that I could get it fixed. 1 hour later - DONE Cannot say enough about this company.

Our oven was going out just a few days before Christmas and we had family coming over. I posted a request on A&J's website stating our problem and explaining our pending need. I posted the message at 2:00 am and didn't expect an immediate answer. (In fact many websites never respond) I was still in bed when Phil called and talked to my wife the next morning. I hadn't told her I had contacted A&J so she had no idea what he was talking about ,but Phil just went with the flow. He told her I had written him and he was booked solid but if it was Okay, he would start early and slip us in the beginning of his day. Phil arrived at the time he said he would and started to work. I pretty much knew which part had failed and Phil confirmed my suspicions. Not only that, but he checked the broiler element while he was there... just to make sure it was Okay. He had the part with him, installed it and was on his way a short time later. The oven was fixed and cooking better than ever. I felt the price as fair and service was the best!

Phil was extremely professional and patient. He told me up front that his service fee was $85.00 and any parts and labor were in addition to that. Because my fridge was almost 14 years old and is a smaller model (28" wide is the largest I can fit in my cottage), I was trying to figure out whether it was better to repair it or buy a new one (new ones run from about $549 to $800 for the higher end models). Phil couldn't diagnose the problem over the phone, of course, but he was very honest about the fact that it could be a minor repair or a major repair and told me that the average repair was about $200 to $250 including the service fee. Since this was almost 1/2 to 1/4 of a the price of a new fridge, I decided to go with a new fridge. However, I was extremely grateful that Phil took the time to talk to me and was up front and honest about stuff. I sensed he was more interested in being a good person than simply making money. Because of this, I will keep his name and number and definitely call him when I have another appliance repair issue come up. I was very impressed with his honestly, patience, knowledge and willingness to give me the information I needed without trying to hard sell me. You don't find that often. Again, I plan to use him for future appliance repairs, even though I didn't this time. I was extremely impressed.

I called him A & J this morning, and although he had a busy day, he was able to squeeze me in. He was extremely friendly and likable. I stood around and asked a lot of questions; he was happy to explain everything. After checking a few things, he narrowed the problem down to the starter. He told me if it had been the compressor, he would have recommended that I replace the frig because the cost of the part was almost as much as a new refrigerator. Luckily, it was the starter. He advised me that I have a really good model that should last a long time. On another occasion, I called him and although he didn't come out, he gave me valuable advice over the phone. The computer in my stove was shot. He asked me questions on the phone, then looked up the model of my stove. The computer would have cost more than a new one, so he advised me to buy a new stove, which I did. We spent maybe 15 minutes on the phone. Most companies wouldn't waste the time unless they were going to make money off of me. I would definitely call A & J any time. Highly recommended!

We have used Phil for years, and always been pleased with the results. Last night, our 15-year old refrigerator/ freezer gave up the ghost. No interior light, no ice, no cold. I called Phil to get him to come out, describing the problem. He told me that, based on the symptoms, he thought it was possible that the fridge wasn't plugged in! I checked. It was plugged in, but the GFI protector on the wall socket had tripped, cutting off power. I re-set the GFI, and now everything is working again. Phil saved me a service call. That's service. I give Phil the highest recommendation.

Phil repaired my dishwasher by replacing the pump. Recently he replaced the heating elements in my dryer. I emailed him on a Sunday and he phoned right back to suggest troubleshooting solutions that I could do myself before paying for him to come out on the call. The solutions unfortunately didn't remedy the problem and he came out the following day to do the repairs.

My husband spoke with Phil on the phone and explained the problem with our 18 year old Amana refrigerator. A clunking noise when the motor goes off. Phil was prompt in responding to my email and called my husband. He was very honest and said there was nothing he could do for this type of problem. We appreciated Phil's honesty and he saved us the price of a service call. We definitely will use his company if we need service on our other appliances.

My dishwasher stop draining so I called A and J. The repair guy said they don't service out this far. But nonetheless he took 10 minutes on the phone with me. He quickly diagnose the problem as an air gap blockage. You walk me through the repair of the phone, and now my dishwasher drains fine. Thanks for the help - you really got us out of a jam!

He had came and fixed my refrigerator previously and did the work quickly. He had came out after hours and didn’t charge anything. He is very honest and tells me everything upfront. I really appreciated his honesty

Called and left a message. Phil called back promptly. I explained the problem and he said he could be here in 20 minutes. I had taken the clothes out but the water was still in it. He diagnosed the problem right away. He replaced the part and gave me some tips to prevent breaking the part (not letting the lid slam or fall down). Phil was Very nice and professional. Will absolutely use him again.

I was doing a full load of laundry this afternoon and the machine stopped before it got to the rinse cycle. The water would not drain out. I was a bit frantic--what was i going to do with a full load of clothes sitting in wash water? I checked Angie's list and called the highest rated repair company, but they could not schedule me until Wed. morning. I went down the list and found A & J Appliance Repair, located fairly close to me in Sacramento. I called the owner Phil Grajeda at 4 pm and he said he would be here by 5 pm. He arrived 15 min. early and got to work. Evidently the lid clicks into a sensor when it closes signaling the machine to drain. He replaced this sensor which was cracked and at 5:15 pm my machine was working again. I was so pleased! It cost about $165.00. I don't know if that is ballpark for this type of repair or not, but the important thing was he was available immediately to do the repair. I did not have to take my clothes out of the machine dripping wet and go elsewhere to finish washing them. I would definitely recommend A & J Appliance Repair.

Called someone else who came right out and fixed the problem. My new appliance repair company.

I sent him a message on Angie's List and he called me promptly. He had the part on his truck and he replaced the part. He explained what and why the part had broken and he stayed and ran the machine to make sure it was working properly. He also looked at my dishwasher and he indicated the unit was plugged and he fixed this as well.

Came n fix the problem n left Did not say too much. It was quick fix for 100. I thought it could been little cheaper.

Replaced lid switch and missing lid screw.

Old GE dishwasher's pump motor was shot so he installed a new pump on the spot. While here, I mentioned the stove top burners not lighting, so he tore that apart and found the ignition module was shot and an igniter. I was very happy with his friendly demeanor and the services provided. All works perfectly now!

Arrived on time, work performed properly and professionally, excellent clean-up. Described what caused problem and gave excellent advice on preventing future clogs and other problems. My wife gives him an A+

After searching the list for appliance repair services, we contacted A&J initially through their website. Phil Grajeda (owner) responded that same day and gave us the details for his service calls. A call to another provider was not returned, and when we contacted them after several days and learned that their service calls were more expensive, we decided to go with A&J. Phil returned our second call within 15 minutes, and we set up an appointment for the same day within a half hour. Phil arrived exactly when he said he would, and started work on our dishwasher immediately. Within a few minutes, he had identified the likely source of the problem, and performed the necessary steps to stop the leak. He inspected the dishwasher, ran it through several cycles to make sure that he had not missed anything, and reassembled it. While he was pretty sure that he had resolved the problem, Phil also let us know that there were a few other issues that could arise, and what would be required to deal with them IF they came up. He did not suggest any costly or unnecessary steps. Phil got our dishwasher running again for just the cost of his service call ($60). To top it all off, Phil is a really friendly and outgoing guy, and it was a real pleasure to have him come and do the work for us. If you need any appliances in your home that need service or repair, you will not do better than A&J Appliance Repair Service. I would not hesitate to call them again and I give them an unqualified A++ recommendation.

Our tenant called us on Sunday early evening to report that the freezer and fridge had gone warm. We called A&J and left a message, and even though they are closed on Sunday, he called us back on Sunday evening to set up the appointment for Monday. He arrived promptly to our location, quickly diagnosed the problem, and had the necessary parts in his truck to fix it right then. He was very up front with his pricing, and did not perform any work without our authorization first. Super nice guy, easy to work with. He fixed our fridge and it was up and running for the tenant within 24 hours of their initial call to us. I would not hessitate to use them again.
