He arrived promptly and did a thorough inspection and cleaning. He made sure that there wasn't any mess inside.

They were good. They were a little cheaper than another company, but I used them because I couldn't get the other company out there. They all run kind of the same price. They were really good. They were very responsive, they were booked, but they managed to get me in anyway.

We disagreed and work did not happen. Please refund the money back to credit card.

The technician from A1 Chimney arrived on time. After inspecting the chimney he set up tarps and a vacuum cleaner in the fireplace, then brushed out the chimney from above. Based on his inspection, he recommended sealing the cement on top of the chimney to keep water out of the brick work--we had this done. He also put a chimney cap over the flue hole to keep rain out. I am happy with the service and price.

I have been living in my home for 17 years and was unaware the dryer vent needed cleaning. I scheduled an appointment with A-1 for the fireplace and dryer vent. They were on time, took their time with each cleaning, thoroughly explained the process and educated me on upkeep. Unfortunately, my dryer would heat by not dry clothes after the cleaning. I contacted A-1 and they were back on site within a few days. The issue was caused due the fact that the dryer vent goes to the roof and right before it exits, there is almost a 90 degree bend. After the initial cleaning, some lint remained in the bend and when I started the first load to dry, it caused the remaining lint to congeal into a blockage. A-1 quickly identified and corrected the issue at no additional charge. Wonderful customer service and education.

They were great. They did a good job. They were really nice. The special they were running was for 2 chimneys and I have 3. They just charged regular price for the third. They gave me a nice price and were very helpful. I don't remember the price but it was reasonable.

The gentleman who came to the home was fast, clean, and professional. He even took pictures of what the chimney looked like at the roof level to show me that some of the metal work will need replacing in the future.

Great overall experience from schedule to actual service. Showed up on time, and representative was very professional and was very careful to keep things clean. I would use them again.

Contacted A-1 on a Monday for a chimney sweep and was able to get an appointment for Wednesday afternoon. The company gave me a 3 hour window between 1 and 4 pm. The technician called 15 minutes before arriving at approximately 2:15 pm. He was courteous, professional and efficient. He set up his equipment and completed the job within 30 minutes. He explained the results of his inspection and recommended repairs. No hard sell for other services or the repairs and I have no reason to doubt the quality of the work. I would use A-1 again.

It was two days before Christmas and our fireplace needed to be cleaned since the smell of creosote was evident every time the flue was opened. I called several chimney cleaners; some we had done business with and others out of desperation. I called A-1 and they said they could be there that same afternoon. Two men arrived promptly at the front end of the stated timeframe and were very professional. They placed tarps across the entire pathway from front door to fireplace. Additionally, one of the men placed a ladder against our 2-story house and inspected our chimney. I was surprised on two levels...first our roof is very steep and, though we have had our fireplace cleaned before, no one has ever climbed our roof to check the chimney. (Even the satellite dish installer refused to climb up on our roof!) The men went efficiently about their task and had completed their work in about 30 minutes. Our fireplace never looked so free of soot! I would definitely use A-1 again!

He was on time and very professional. He gave us the report that day onsite, with an estimate for repairs if we wanted to proceed. He prepped to keep the mess down and cleanup very well after the service.

They are patient and definitely take their time. They performed excellent work and presented themselves in a professional manner. They were also very informative, knowledgeable in their field and thoroughly answered all of my questions. I felt as though I was in good hands, they sure were great to work with.

Expensive, $1500 for four hours work. It is probably good work, maybe very good work. The contractor was experienced and professional. Never-the-less I recommend getting a few estimates.

I was told by the previous owner of my house that she had never used the fireplace. I still wanted to get it inspected to make sure after 22 years a bird hadn't built a giant nest in it. The technician was on time, quick and friendly. He inspected the chimney for damage and debris, which there was none. He also showed me how to open the flu, etc. I will use them again.

The chimney sweep was very professional and polite. He was also VERY clean, placing a drop cloth down on the brick and carpet adjacent to the fireplace. He used a strong vacuum which seemed to eliminate most or all of the possible soot from entering our living room. The employees who answered the phone at the company were also very polite, professional, and friendly. Our Landlords had told us their arrival time was to be at 9 AM. The A1 Company Scheduler informed us the correct appointment time scheduled by our Landlords was 8 AM (not 9 AM as they had told us). When we explained my severe neck/back injuries cause early morning pain, they very accommodatingly changed the appointment to the late afternoon. We have serious problems with our Landlords, Becky and Steve Emert, in getting repairs or maintenance accomplished in the home we have rented from them for almost TEN years. In the past, they established a habit of not being here to oversee work done. However, due to recently ignored repair & maintenance requests, and their fear of us discovering additional misinformation and lies they have told us, they stayed here the entire time the Chimney Sweep was here to be sure we were unable to speak with him privately. Even so, we were still able to ask him the same questions we would have asked if they had not been present, i.e. "Does the fireplace need any repair on the inside? How is the overall soot condition on the inside of the fireplace?" Since we use self-cleaning logs in our fireplace every winter, we were naturally curious as to its overall condition. The last time it was cleaned was NINE YEARS ago, and that previous sweep (different company) told us the inside of the fireplace needed serious masonry repair, which might not have been true as he was not a licensed repairman. The A 1 Chimney Sweep said there was absolutely no indication further repairs were necessary. Disappointments: The worker did not offer us his card as evidence he was from the company he represented. However, he was driving a company van. Maybe we should have just asked him for his card. We mention this because previous workers in our home have given us their cards. (He also was not wearing a company employee identification badge, i.e. P.G.E./Smud, etc. Maybe we are a bit leery due to our Landlords previously hiring unlicensed workers, and those who will write receipts for $499.00 per the Landlords request to avoid state inspections regarding legal permits required, etc; and also due to the dangerous times we live with these days.) Overall, A 1 Chimney is a company we WOULD RECOMMEND TO ANYONE AND EVERYONE as THE Company to get an estimate from for any of the services they offer, and even if their estimate is higher, their workmanship, ethics, and trustworthiness are worth a higher price!

Easy to schedule appointments and schedule. Work was done on time and professionally. Chimney/Pellet looks good and have functioned great after the cleaning..

First, scheduling someone to come out was very cumbersome. When they did come out they did not seem to know what they were doing with the pellet stove, I left them to putter around with it and about thirty minutes later he said he didn't know what was wrong with it or how to fix it but would go talk to someone in his office and give me a call back. Well that dandy bit of service cost me $100, thanks a lot. I then got a phone call about four days later, gave me a 600 dollar quote to fix it and close to double that to install it. They still couldn't tell me what was wrong with it though. I called up another company, this guy knew exactly what stove I had and literally under a minute had it working, and this was just him coming out to give us a quote on installation, didn't charge us a dime to fix it. The quote he then gave us on installation was half that of A1's. We went with the other company and have loved our pellet stove. I shudder to think what would've happened if I had trusted that work to A1. **Update** The provider responded to the review and offered a full refund. I can appreciate that things sometimes go wrong and sometimes employees don't always live up to the business ideal. I think it says a lot about a company when they are willing to step in and make things right.
