Initially, the scope of the job was underestimated, resulting in more work being needed to accomplish the job. Derrick, the individual who accomplished the work, is an unbelievably hard worker. He is very dedicated to performing his job well and completely. We would hire him again in the future.

Gutter cleaning from last season was inadequate. New gutter cleaners cleared up a lot of build up and debris (plastic rod???) left by this company.

First time getting a chimney service and my experience with A1 Chimney was great, especially technician Aaron. I asked him tons of questions about gas chimneys and he answered them all. He was definitely knowledgeable and provided an awesome customer service. The deal was only for an hour but he stayed to fix the pipe leak and added a vent clamp at no cost...A++!

I like to be spoiled like this.... all work done efficiently, neatly and right on time. It shows that the technician is very knowledgeable and a professional. Thank you Aaron for an excellent job!

I had another chimney company clean my chimney and they went out of business. A1 did an inspection and provided a quote. They had to cut out the damper, which was broken and in the closed position. They installed a top mount damper and replaced the cap. They found cracks and were able to repair. During the inspection they accidentally cracked a tile on my roof. The technicians sealed the crack, took a picture of it and told me about it. A1 had a roofer come out to fix it. I appreciate the honesty because there's no way I would have known. The two technicians doing the repairs were very impressive young men who worked well together, took the time to explain the work they were doing, provided me with helpful information and took pride in their work. They only issue I had was with the response time early in the process but that improved greatly once they started the work. I highly recommend this company.

Well. Wanted to get chimney checked before cold season

My first call with the owner was the day after I ordered the service special. We discussed my chimney and cleaning needs. He stated that it might cost $100 more than I had paid on the special. Two days later a nice and very competent worker arrived, on time as agreed. I gave him the owner's booklet for the stove and he set to work. After 2 hours the job was complete with no extra costs. My stove now works fine again, as the catalytic burners had become clogged with ash.

Have used this company to clean fireplace since I have lived in Calif..approx. 13 yrs. They are friendly, thorough, and quick.

Nice guy, good work as far as I can tell. The estimate was more than I wanted to spend, so I haven't done anything else besides the inspection. I think I remembered the correct approximate date and cost.

A1 Chimney Inc responded quickly and set the appointment in a timely manner. My unit is over 14 years old. Unfortunately they were not able to help me but they did refer another A rated company through Angie's List.

Fires in time for xmas eve. I moved in to this home in March and never received an inspection for the fireplace. A-1 scheduled the visit for a convenient time on a Saturday, showed up early, and professionally handled the job. The tech had a bunch of custom tools that made me confident they were doing a job that I was unable to perform. And he even knew to have a two prong adapter (i have old plugs) for his shop vac which other vendors have forgotten in the past. Along the way, he made the same recommendation that my home inspector had which is to add a cap to the fireplace to prevent rain. He noted that rain damage is a leading cause of masonry degradation. When asked if their pricing was competitive, he was willing to offer that they charge more for the part but they use a thicker gauge metal than most consumer brands. At the end, I was asking about burn days and he got me a brochure from his van and took the time to explain a few other details of his inspection and a few features of my fireplace. The experience was quick, painless, and worth the investment.

Vendor refused to honor our service purchase. I am out $129. I will be cancelling my Angie's List subscription- it has been a major waste of money.

They provided a thorough inspection and cleaning, removed old components from a gas-insert ($50 more than the Angie's promotion), and talked us through best tools, wood and maintenance options. They were on time and respectful. They laid out carpet coverings, cleaned the hearth before leaving, and used slip-on paper booties over shoes. They provided recommendations for a few at-home repairs we could manage independently. They provided a gas line check, and ensured the damper was bolted open, the gas line fully capped and free of leaks. We'd absolutely use them them again and intend to book a cleaning next year.

Horrible Workmanship!!! they used clear silicon to repair/sealed cracks on the exterior stack, and they charged me $200. yep, $200 to apply clear silicon. job was done on 11/18/2015.

The company was on time and checked the stoves safety and function . Eric left no doubt that we could use the freestanding stove without worry about danger from fie or fumes. Eric is a professional and would be welcomed into any home.

The Angie's list coupon we used was for a chimney cleaning. They sent a tech that was punctual, professional and seemed to know fireplaces. We had recently bought a bank repossession and the chimney was left cracked, broken and filthy. The cleaning allowed us to see all the damage. In seeing that a complete overhaul was needed, my husband balked at the estimate we were given for repairs. I called the main office to discuss JUST THE BASIC repairs to make the fireplace functional. It was at the end of the day and I said something to "offend" him because he snapped at me - and told me to have my husband call back. No thank you. Customer Service is a must in any business.

He arrived on time and did a great job. Our vent is too long, so it had clogged up. He cleaned from the roof and from the back of the dryer. We will need to have him come back out in a year or two for the same service.

Very pleased with their service on all counts, e.g. Prompt, courteous, did a great job, AND unlike other service people, didn't try to sell me anything!

It was very good. They were very thorough and he made sure that we understand the things that needed to be repaired. They left the area very clean.

We are the second owner of the home so the original parts were no longer available. They worked with me to retrofit what was there and came in under the cost quote. Great guys and nice to our dogs.
