Description of Work: Repaired leak in roof - repair and service were great. We just felt for the size of the job and the amount of time they were here (about 90 minutes) that $1900 was a bit excessive). We would possibly use them again in the future if we could negotiate on the pricing. Except for the cost, everything else was A++

Description of Work: Roof Guys was a disappointment. I informed Brian that I had selected Roof Guys to do the job on my roof. Brian made an appointment to do the job on 8/11/11 @8:00am. No one showed up nor did he call me. II waited all morning. I had to call him to find out what had happened. He told me that his truck with the equipment on it had broken down and he apologized for not calling but he was trying to get the truck fixed and then he said that he would be coming at 1:00 pm. Again he did not show up or call. I called him several times and he did not answer the phone or return my call. I had wasted all day waiting for Brian and had changed my appointments. So at about 4:00 I left home to run some errands. My daughter called me at about 4:14 saying that 3 men had showed up at my house saying they were there to do a job on my house. I turned around and came back home. The three men were Mexicans and could not speak English or communicate very well. They were not sure of what they were suppose to do. They did not even have the materials to fix my roof. They said that they just got the job order from Brian that day and that they would have to go and pick up the materials at Home Depot and fix the roof the next morning. I asked where Brian was and they did not know. They wanted me to call him and find out what to do. I told them no!!! and that they could leave and that I would not have Roof Guys do my job because I did not like the way Brian did business. To this date I have not heard from Brian and I will now have to get someone else to do my job. I would never contact Roof Guys do do any job for me. I was really disappointed because they gave me the b est bid but apparently they were not the best company to deal with. I have to really think about if I want to use anyone else from Angie's list.

Brian from The Roof Guys came to give us the estimate and impressed us with his knowledge of the construction of our house. He obviously knew his stuff and was familiar with older houses like ours. He was far more pleasant than the other two people we had out to give estimates and there was very little of the slick salesman in him. He gained our trust through his knowledge and attitude. We negotiated the price and his crew came out to strip and replace. They were professional and cleaned thoroughly after every day. An excellent experience.
Description of Work: Our house's roof was removed and replaced with a radient barrier sheathing and composite shingles. They shimmed up the beams so the roof line was level at the peak and on all sides (something that really improved the look of the house). They also strapped the back wall to prevent further movement and replaced all the gutters.

It was pretty good. Overall, I decided to register for Angie's List to find a roofer after seeing day light in my attic access door. Our initial meeting had to be rescheduled but The Roof Guys had my roof repaired before the next rain storm. I also received an estimate with a discount for a new roof that I need (roof is 29 years old!).

When we bought our home 4 years ago this same section of roof was leaking. The sellers consulted a roofer who explained that he didn?t know why it was leaking and suggested they just re-roof the whole flat section as that should solve the problem. They hired him and the work was completed while we were in escrow. The roofer gave us a 2 year warranty and within the first year of owning the house, it leaked again. Just as we started approaching the 4th year of ownership the leak returned but had escalated to no fewer than 6 separate leaks throughout the room. We invited roofers to come and take a look at the roof for estimates and explained that we wanted uncover why it was leaking and solve that problem. As roofers came to bid the job they all questioned the workmanship of our Seller?s roofer but had the same solution ? ?Don?t know, let?s just re-roof it?. Enter Brian Warren of The Roof Guys. Wow, what a difference! He actually took the time to tour our damaged room(s) and specifically wanted to understand how the leaks started; when and where. He examined our existing skylights and identified them as a main culprit; they were flat glass and not the right type of light for a flat roof as they didn?t provide for proper water drainage. Our skylights also did not have proper flashings to keep the water out. Instead, flat roofing material was angled up the sides of the skylights. He inspected an overhang that collected debris and identified that as another source; closing this section up would allow water/debris to move off the roof rather than collect in the corner. Brian noticed that the flashings around our third skylight were lifting causing debris to clog the area. This is on a separate section of roof that isn?t leaking. Because this is a potential problem area for water to enter, Brian fixed it at no additional cost! He also didn?t charge us the labor to install the new skylights, we only paid his contractors cost for them which saved us hundreds. Communication was constant and any concerns were addressed right away. His crew was professional and courteous; they removed the tarps from the roof and folded each one (5 total) - setting them in a stack at the corner of our house so they were out of the way, our front yard is huge (5 cars can easily sit on our driveway alone) and they left it cleaner than it was before they arrived ? there wasn?t a leaf to be found. Brian?s personality is fantastic! He is genuine and caring, just an all around good guy to work with. We are thrilled with Brian and The Roof Guys and would recommend them in an instant ? we have found our roofer.
Description of Work: Re-roofed a flat section of roof and replaced 2 skylights; two pitched roofs emptying onto flat roof were also re-roofed approx. 3' up from flat roof transition. Replaced dry rot sheeting. Inclosed a section where there was an overhang onto the flat roof that trapped water and debris. Resealed all vents. Reworked existing flashing system at a third skylight that is on a separate section of roof.

I discovered a water leak over my garage so I called the Roof Guys for an estimate. Brian returned my call and was able to come by the same day. He has a pleasant demeanor and communicated in English very well. He personally took the time to walk my entire roof and was able to tell me where the potential problems were. A lot of the work was required near the edge of my two-story home so I opted to have them do the job(s). While we were inspecting the roof Brian was taking pictures for future reference. He also put up a temporary fix for the roof leak free of charge (since it was going to rain that evening). The original job was quoted but I was given a discount for being an Angie's list member. Brian and (3) crew showed up late in the day (~3:30pm) to do the job and they got to work immediately. They hung the drywall and moved on to the outside tasks with ease. A fourth person was called in to do the finishing work on the drywall. Overall the job went very smoothly and they showed great flexibility by accommodating my extra requests. Such as disposing of a shed and microwave. Even though the job ran long, the crew worked diligently without complaint even when faced with obstacles (cold and darkness). I am very happy to see that Brian runs an 'employee' based company vs. sub-contractors. I saw excellent communication and cohesiveness between the entire group. The quality really shows in the finished product. One thing that I noticed.. Each team member was enabled to make the job go smoother. e.g. cell phones and vehicles. The day after I received a very nice invoice which included photos and was right on the estimate amount. Brian came by the following day for a follow up. Not only did he take the time to show me all of the work but also went above and beyond by fixing some other potential issues (not on the original estimate). I know that it is impossible to plan ahead for every job however, I do feel some basic items should be in the basic tool kit. Flashlight, broom and dustpan, screwdriver to fix hole saw, magnetic broom for screws. These may sound nit-picky but an oz of prevention is better than a lb of cure.
Description of Work: * Troubleshoot and Repair roof leak * Preventative maintenance on downspouts (added devices for proper water flow) * Preventative maintenance on roof tiles. (cleaned moss from drain channels) * Preventative maintenance on flashing for roof vents (adjusted and secured vents) * Repair flashing (improper installation from builder) * Replaced damaged drywall (from leak) * Cleanup and removal of debris * Bird abatement devices installed (spike strips) * Build debris removed from gutters * Anti-clog devices installed on all downspouts

It was an absolute pleasure working with Brian. He was prompt and professional. He took pictures of the problems on our 2nd story roof so that I did not have to climb up on the roof myself. After he fixed the problems, he also took pictures so that I could see the repairs. They were done in a professional, workmanlike manner, and I have confidence that the roof now is properly done.

He is adorable and we love him. He provides tons and tons of customer service - he just bends over backwards to make you happy. The communication was great. He gave me his cell phone number, and I could call him with questions and check for details. The crew was professional, polite and neat, and they cleaned up everyday. They got the job done on time. He checks with me every few months to make sure I?m still happy. He has asked me if he can use our roof for a reference and if people can drive by and look at our roof. We are thrilled with the work they did. I got an expensive roof tile and a life-time warranty, and it cost just under $10,000. The price was in the middle - he was neither the lowest nor the highest, but I felt most comfortable having him and his crew in my home. He gave us a discount because we were on Angie?s List. The quality of their work is great and the roof looks beautiful.

My repair time was at 9:30 am and Brian called at 8:30 am and stated he forgot that 10/12/09 was a holiday and he was looking for tile and would be at my house by 11:30 am. At 1:30 pm he called and stated he was still looking for my tile and would be there at 3:30 pm. At 4:00 pm he called and found the tile in Auburn, Ca He showed up at about 5:45 pm and did all the work, plus give me some extra tiles. This contractor is very professional, and very nice to work with. He went to all the trouble to find my tile and did not charge me any extra money. I would recommend him and use him again. He kept me updated and where and when.
Description of Work: Contacted Brian Warren ( owner) on 10/08/09 made appointment for 10/10/09 at 9:30 am to look at my roof. Just bought the house 3 months ago, and the home inspection list stated they were broken tile on the roof. Warren inspected the roof and told me how many were broken, how many needed to be replaced, and how many he could repair. He did everything has stated, except he had a very hard time finding the tile. He went to 3 different places and finally found some in North Auburn, CA. which is about 20 miles from my house.

We bought a foreclosure in Davis and the previous owner had neglected the home and we had some areas in the roof where water was entering the attic. I got Brian's name from Angie's list and he came out to give me an estimate. He had no qualms about driving out this far. He went up on the roof, took pictures, and sent me a very detailed bid. He was very knowledgeable, and great to work with. His follow up is outstanding and I would definitely work with him again.

We had been looking to re-roof from shake for some time after having a firework land on the roof a few years ago. We had at least 8 estimates in the last month. We found that most roofers simple 're-roof'. Brian Warren came out and was concerned about all around appearance and quality that would last us for a long time and would bring value and character to our home. His estimate for the roof fell below average as far as cost! Even after we asked him to do a couple other finish work items, he never raised the estimate! While first at our home and seeing our back patio he stood back and suggested 're-pitching' the patio. My wife and I discussed it and decided it would be a great idea that we had not thought of. Brian and his crew came out early on a Sunday morning to start the project after some rains had gone away. They were professional and he was always able to be contacted at all times. He was here most of the time overseeing the job. No 'sales guys' to get extra comissions. He and his crew were here every day they said they would be and completed the job in the time they had estimated. We were very picky when it came to finish work and when we found a few very minor things that we asked him about toward the end of the project he quickly updated those items to make them to our satisfaction. I really did not think we could find someone to do a job like this. We have had many renovations to our home and it is always difficult to have the contractor come back to make sure it is to our satisfaction. Brian and his crew were awesome.
Description of Work: Full Re-Roof from shake to Presidential composition on 2 story home. Also changed an existing back patio overhang that was a flat roof to an angled roof to give more room to back patio and put normal roofing on now angled back patio.

We discovered a leak in our ceiling and we immediately checked Angie's List for a local roofer. My husband was off for a week after surgery and wanted the work done while he was home. Brian Warren came the following day to give us a quote. He was very personable and very apologetic for being late. He gave us an 'Angie's List' discount once he heard we had gotten his name through the website. He took pictures and took the time to explain to us non-roofers what caused the leak and what he needed to do. He was very good about coming out the following day to do the work - even though I know he was very busy. He had a team of 3 other workers and got the job done in a couple of hours. We were extremely happy and felt we got our money's worth.

Brian was very friendly and professional in his approach. He gave us an estimate on the job and then was responsive when we called with questions prior to picking Roof Guys as the contractor. In addition, he was the only contractor that pointed out a problem with the chimney and included it in his bid. We wanted a solar tube placed in the hallway and he suggested we replace the existing light with a lighted solar tube. That was a very helpful suggestion and we went with it. Brian did show up late for our initial appointment. We discussed this with him and he gave us a contact number that we could reach him at all times. He handled this matter to our satisfaction and it was the only instance. He scheduled the job at the time we signed the contract and was able to schedule it to accommodate our schedule. His crew showed up on time and was friendly. There was one problem with a ladder place against our gutter, but that was taken care of to our satisfaction. The crew started and finished the work as scheduled. We were delayed one day due to the city inspector, but that was not Brian s fault. When the roof was finished, we could see the flashing at the gutter line because of the type of gutter we had. We discussed this issue with Brian and he came up with a solution and took care of it. We were nervous about this job having heard horror stories about roofing companies. Brian was great to work with, he made sure we were completely satisfied with the job and made it a pleasant experience.

Brian Warren is extremely likable. He was thorough, explained what needed to be done and why without rushing or making me feel like the "idiot customer." He pointed out some obvious structural problems that other contractors failed to mention. The crew was amazing. They arrived early, and except for a short lunch break, never stopped working. They were pleasant, considerate of my dogs and horses, and left the area clean. The house repair was tricky. They had to tie the new section seamlessly into the existing 3 layers of composition roofing material, and try to match the color. The color couldn't be matched exactly, but it blends well. The first attempt at tying the new section into the old roof left a ridge that I wasn't happy with. But, Brian sent the crew back within 2 days to correct the problem. I'm very happy with the result, and will use them again--this time to install solar tubes.
Description of Work: 1. Re-roofed a gambrel type barn, reinforced existing rafters, and installed a sky light. 2. Replaced the overhang, supports, roofing material, and fascia board on one end of the house. Telephone lines were attached to the fascia board. The weight of the lines pulled the fascia board away from the roof. That stress, added to inadequate structural support caused the overhang to collapse. They replaced the overhand and tied new roofing material into the existing roof.

Brian arrived promptly for our appointment. He was very good natured and experienced with all aspects of the re-roof process. He answered all of my questions and his bid was competitive. I liked the fact that he has been a contractor for 18 years. He assisted me choosing the right color and style of roofing to match my home's color combination. The roof was installed without any complications-right on schedule. I have received many complements and I am very satisfied with the results.

Brian Warren arrived on time for our appointment. He was extremely knowledgeable and friendly and I immediately felt confident in his abilities. I also received bids from two other roofers, but I found Roof Guys to be the most competitive. The job started on time and was complete in four days. Brian kept me informed of the progress each step of the way. The roof looks great and I'm very satisfied.
Description of Work: I hired Roof Guys to install a new composition roof and new gutters on my home. First of all, I am very nervous about hiring a contractor, so I verified their contractor's license, insurance and called two of their references. I was delighted to discover that not only do they carry a Roofing License, but they are General Contractors as well. My garage had a rafter sag which required structural repairs and Roof Guys was able to include this work with the new roof installation.
