We didn't go with them because of the price and they were going to a different type of roof. We had 7 bids and they were right in line with about 6 of them. The flat roof guys were cheaper. It was for a commercial building. There was nothing wrong with what they were proposing, but it was $10,000 more.

An individual from this company came to my home and inspected my roof. He promised he would have an estimate to me the next day. When a few days went by, I called again and spoke with him and he said once again that he would have it for me right away, and apologized for the delay. He never sent an estimate. I stopped calling and just moved on to find someone else.

We just got an estimate from them among a few other estimates - so I have no idea of the quality of their work. But I did get a good job done on roof for considerably less than their estimate. They were however responsive and got the estimate done quickly and good about answering questions.

Brian Warren at Roof Guys was very responsive and professional. I was living out of state and needed a new roof for a rental property that had leaked during heavy rain in November, 2011. He was the first to get to the location and took photos of the roof. His emailed bid was the most complete with the best presentation of the six bids I gathered. His photos made it clear what had transpired and his bid included a good-sense recommendation to prevent future problems that no other roofer mentioned. His bid also included costs of potential dry rot repairs that were specific and clear. The roofing work was done quickly, weather allowing. Once the old roof was torn off, dry rot became evident. News of more costs are always hard to deliver, but when the time came, Brian phoned directly and then emailed another estimate with options on the extent of additional work to be done, using the pricing in the original bid. He was also very co-operative with the folks who served as "my eyes" while I was out of town. Overall, Brian Warren and The Roof Guys were professional, pro-active, responsive and efficient. I would work again with The Roof Guys, and recommend them to others.

Brian Warren was referred by contractor friend. We exchanged several interesting and humorous e-mails before reaching agreement on cost/services to perform, which was patching roof. His estimate included many photos and was quite revelatory and comprehensive. Work was efficient and excellent. Brian is in your-face- authentic , very easy-going, personable and the ultimate professional. Very pleasant experience. He will be used when we need new roof. Will give him straight A's...

Brian Warren the owner, estimator and contractor of the Roof Guys is very easy to deal with, professional and personable. I appreciated his knowledge about tile roofs and he wasn?t afraid to share his knowledge. He provided a very detailed and professional estimate. The work to be done was quite the laundry list. But basically he was installing aluminum nosing, new felt and weather seal materials all around the drain edges of the tile roof, repairing dry rot in several spots to the OSB and fascia boards due to improper installation of the original gutters and tiles. I had hired a general contractor to replace rafter and fascia boards on the back of the house. But once they removed the rafter tiles they did not know how to put them back properly. They fixed this and sealed all the gables and ridges, used epoxy on the slipping field tiles and replaced all broken tiles. All this work was done in one day by a 5 man crew and foreman. The house was also scheduled to be painted prior to the roof work. Brain was genuinely concerned about the gutter color matching the new trim paint. So much so he sent the gutter contractor by the house with a sample to make sure we would be happy with the color. When the roof work was done the gutter guy Victor began to install all new gutters on the entire house. During this process I found a small spot of dry rot in the OSB, rafter tail and Fascia board on the back side of the house. Brian send a 2 man crew out to repair this spot and finish up the rest of the project. Victor completed the gutter installation the next week, it took about 2 1/2 to 3 days total for the gutters to be installed. And they turned out great and the color matched nicely with the new trim color of the house. We were very pleased with the new gutters and downspouts. The Roof Guys warranted the work they did for 2 years. I marked them down in price, just because I did think the project was expensive, not because I didn?t think I got what I paid for. I did have to wait about 2 weeks for the final paid in full receipt after the project was complete and paid for. But Brian kept his promise and emailed a lien release and final receipt after I bugged him about it. I am pretty picky about cleanliness and I thought his crew could have done a better job of cleaning up. But overall we were pleased with the service the Roof Guys provided and we will be calling them again for any future repairs or roof replacement. Hopefully that will not be for a long while.
Description of Work: Brian Warren the owner, estimator and contractor of the Roof Guys is very easy to deal with, professional and personable. I appreciated his knowledge about tile roofs and he wasn’t afraid to share his knowledge. He provided a very detailed and professional estimate. I have cut and paste the list he prepared for the work to be performed on the roof. 1. Locate and purchase matching tiles. This tile is currently out of production but still available. 2. Remove tiles at drain side perimeter of roof and set aside. 3. Remove 30 pound felt and battens in order to make dry rot repairs and install nosing. 4. Remove rake edge and ridge pieces in order to remove two gable fascia board sequences on east side of home. 5. Remove all drain side fascia boards that are associated with the original construction. The fascia boards that have been replaced will remain. 6. Cut back all extended gable eave details that were designed to cover gutter ends. 7. Make necessary dry rot repairs. See extra costs. 8. Install 2” x 4” metal nosing to properly transition water off roof into gutter system. Install 6” wide Grace Ice & Water Shield (non-porous weather seal material) around drain side perimeter of roof. See http://www.graceathome.com/pages/roofingprod5.htm for more information. 9. Install 30 pound ASTM felt underlayment at roof eaves to complete base weather seal. 10. Install battens as necessary in preparation for tile installation. 11. Reset gable apexes to complete proper vertical alignment. 12. Install lead caps at all three way intersections where gables and ridges intersect for a long term weather seal. 13. Adjust all slipping tiles and reset with cement epoxy. 14. Remove and replace broken field tiles. This scope of work will include 20 field tiles. Extra tiles will be provided at $15 per tile. 15. Correct broken ridge pieces at first story where water is currently traveling under tile roof. 16. Cement epoxy field tiles at compound angle over front entry. Several tiles are slipping and could fall off. 17. Extend column flashings at first story with lead so water cannot wick under flashing system and run under tile. 18. Power wash moss. The entire first story north slope has excessive moss growth. 19. Provide a two year no leak workmanship warranty at repair areas. 20. Install new gutters and downspouts on the entire house.

He is very easy to communicate with and answers questions thoroughly. The only problem was that once roof project was completed we began to arrange for another project. This time the project was a interior paint job. He agreed to provide paint swatches for future paint job but he did not follow-through. Never heard from him again.

After a bit of a rocky start actually getting a bid, Brian from the Roof Guys diligently and consistently followed up. Following completion of the initial estimate, we had our gutters cleaned, during which we discovered that we may have some dry rot on part of the roof owing to poorly installed gutters. Brian came back and provided a revised estimate that included an option to replace the affected roof section; the pricing on the job was extremely competitive. We ultimately decided to move forward only with the immediate repairs. Brian made extra effort to schedule the work at a time that was convenient for me and as soon as possible, juggling inclement weather and other scheduling demands. He and his crew came a day early, and completed the job in a few hours, the day before the next rain storm began:).

I had some difficulty making the initial contact. Once the initial contact was made everything went quite smoothly. They fix a roof leak which was fixed twice before by two different people who failed. The roof guys attempt proved to be successful. They went to great lengths to explain why my roof was leaking and they did a quick and effecient repair.

I did not go with them. They were the first people I talked to and he asked what I needed. I said to put a new layer of shingles on. Then I talked to 3 other companies and they said that I needed to tear off the old shingles and put on new felt and a new roof. From interviewing him I felt that he was telling me what I wanted to hear and not what I needed to do. I didn't know about roofs and if 3 other roofers tell me that I need to tear it off and replace it to get a better roof then I tend to think that is the case. He was just giving me what I wanted to hear and I wasn't the expert. I was relying on the roofing people to be the experts. His quote was not comparable to the other quotes that I got. They were very prompt and their quote was reasonable for what they were going to do. They were the first to respond and they were very responsive. He was very nice, almost overly nice but I didn't have confidence in the work that they were going to do. I found several roofers that I liked much better. I went with a company that is starting the end of this week.

He recommended re-doing the valleys, the area around the chimney, replace broken tiles and nail back into place the loose edge tiles. His crew came out the next week, got straight to work and were finished by the end of the day. They were very courteous and neat. They cleaned up and told me when they were leaving. I was pleased with their work.

We moved from the East Coast to Sacramento and bought a large foreclosure home that needed a new roof - many additions had been done in the past and there are lots of complicated areas where different rooflines meet. We were also required to do some general contracting work (window repair, carpentry, plumbing, etc.), and the Roof Guys did that for us as well. Brian with the Roof Guys was great - we spoke several times from across the country but never met until after we moved. To put it simply, we are lucky that we chose him - this guy knows roofs and he's very sharp. He worked with us to stay on budget, but he also told us when there were issues that he thought needed to be addresssed. He's not pushy, but provided information and took the time to explain things and answer questions. For example, the old roof was too heavy for the home and the roofline was sagging - Brian fixed it, and it looks a lot better. Also, he pointed out which gutters were cracked and needed to be replaced. He didn't just try to get things done quickly or do it in a cookie-cutter way. Instead, he really made sure that we got a quality result. Brian also took care of general contracting issues for us. The process went incredibly smoothly and the whole project was done ahead of schedule. He was flexible but stll made sure that we took care of all the issues that were required to be fixed. And of course, we're very happy with the results.

The Roof Guys replaced my barn roof 2 years ago. Great experience. Unfortunately I waited until October to replace the house roof (busiest time of the year for roofers), but was still able to get the job done quickly. Brian helped me select the best color/type of roofing material in my price range. It's gorgeous. The work was completed in 4.5 days: day 1 the roofing material was removed, day 2 insulation was blown into the attic and materials were delivered. Days 3-4 two guys completed structural repairs at one end of the house and finished the roof. On day 5, an employee spent 2-3 hours cleaning up every piece of debris from the job. There was nothing left for me to do but admire the roof. I work at home and was concerned about losing my broadband signal (receiver located on the roof, no signal-no work!). They planned for that so the receiver was back up in 20 minutes. Brian was great about working with my limited budget. He suggested the lowest cost materials that still provided an excellent quality result and I really appreciated that. The work crew was amazing. They were on time, worked all day with only a short lunch break, cleaned up each day, answered all my questions, were kind to my dogs (even when one of the dogs came dangerously close to eating his lunch). These guys were a pleasure to have around. Good experience again. The roof is beautiful. I'd use them again, but am out of roofs.

They?ve done work for me in the past and I really like them. Their estimate was reasonable because we have a lot of repairs that need to be done because there is dry rot. Last time there was a problem because of the structure of our roof and they came out to take care of it immediately. Last time they were quick, they didn?t take a break, they cleaned up immediately, and the roof looked nice and wore well. The company?s owner is a very nice guy.
