He scheduled to come out and give me an estimate but he never showed up. At the end of the day I called him and he said someone was sick and he overlooked it. I gave him the benefit of the doubt and scheduled him again. And again he didn't show up or let me know that he couldn't show up.

They are very pleasant to have in your home. Shawn and his workers are very straightforward; they want to do the best job possible for you.

The crew arrived on time each morning and finished each day as was laid out by Sean. They cleaned up before they left and were generally careful about the rest of our home. They were very friendly and helpful in answering our questions as things went along. The job did take somewhat longer than planned, though mainly that was due to a delay caused by the Inspector. Only once or twice was there a missed communication between us about whether someone would show up for that day. All in all their work was great and we were very pleased with our new bathroom. We would recommend Sean and Home Solutions to our friends and family.

The hall bathroom had a shower added and a general remodel this gets an B+, it had a couple of glitches. but they have taken care of them. The master bath had a total remodel. this is an A+. They took a box shower and converted the end of a small bathroom to a shower with a bench. It came out just as we pictured it. We love it. I have absolutely no complaints about the work, workmanship, employees, or any other part of this company. We have 3 dogs and one of them is not friendly...but no complaints from any of the people in and out of our home. The employees were talented and very pleasant, the supervisor (Joe) was helpful and always available to answer questions. The owner (Shawn) was always on top of things and keep the projects moving along nicely. I must also mention the man who installed the tile in two of the bathrooms; his name is John and he is indeed a master at his profession. If any who are reading this review need work done, don't hesitate to contact this company.

The provider gave a starting date that was three months away. I didn't think I could wait that long.

They did a beautiful job. When their sub-contractor made a mistake this contractor took care of the problem at his own expense. He went above and beyond. It rained unexpectedly and they had to deal with that as well. He also gave dinner coupons to each neighbor by me for the inconvenience his work caused them. One neighbor had bark that one of his wheel barrels rolled over and he replaced it. He also gave me a gift basket as a thank you. The experience with him was wonderful.

LONG OVERDUE UPDATE. This update is describing work completed by mid November 2013 but at least I can report from the perspective of living with the work done since then. SUMMARY This project was conducted from beginning to end as well as any contractor project I have ever had done and was completed as well as I could possibly hope or expect. We are extremely happy with the work done and 3.5 months in we are really pleased it was done, everything is working great and it has proved a great addition to our house and improvement to our living arrangements. SOME ADDITIONAL DETAILS Financial Management Shawn was very honest and totally fair on all financial matters. He wasn't the most super organized on this point - in fact in the final reckoning and settlement, we reported costs he incurred that he forgot. But I have absolutely no quibble on the financial aspects of the contract. Shawn ultimately underestimated the time he would need and manpower he would need to finish, and there was extra work caused by some snags his people created along the way. He corrected all these things to my absolute satisfaction and presented no additional charges for the non trivial over run of staffing that he needed. Shawn's contract documents were very clear and thorough and avoided any weasel words. During the project, Shawn helped us make choices that would save money, and he also realized our budgetary constraints - helped us keep items for re-use. When something was discarded by accident and sent to the dump that we had said should be re-used, he replaced it at no cost. Collaboration This is Shawn's strength. He collaborates with his customer really well. Maybe I was a high maintenance customer for him, I don't know, but I wanted to do a lot of inside wiring for my audio system while the walls were open and he absolutely accommodated me - even modifying construction to make my life easier. The design of the project overall - its entire feasibility - was made possible by Shawn's creativity and his willingness to brainstorm as to how what we wanted could be done. Without that it could not have been done. I can't believe the good fortune in finding Shawn out of the gate so that this project could be done. Work Process Everyone Shawn brought to site was courteous, professional and cleaned up after their work as well as can reasonably be expected (actually on some days, Shawn sent people just for the purpose of doing some clean up). Shawn was diligent to keep me appraised of who would be coming, when and so on. I saw Shawn himself about 70% of the days work was being done and he always made time to talk to me. We had a couple of minor scheduling misunderstandings related to when inspections would occur and who would stand them, and for one my Wife ended up talking to the inspector. But we still passed :) Given the complexity and duration of this work - I don't think anything could be expected to have gone any better with respect to the work process. No one was ever standing around waiting for materials, and the right people showed up each day for the work to be done, and did good work. Work Quality No issues of any kind here - now we have lived with the work for a while, everything works great - phenomenally well. Sure we have now found some minor niggles in construction detail. (e.g. one wall has a slight bow in it; one kick panel is installed with some indelible writing facing the outside world when the other way around would have hidden the writing; Some door casing was clearly miss-cut and they addressed it with caulk.) But I gotta say - the work is better quality than the four other major, expensive, contracting projects I have hand done in this house by a huge margin, and I have no issues. Not only that - but let me tell you this anecdote. During the project we did have a project with a leaking dishwasher. Shawn fixed this of course. Weeks after the end of the project an email that I had prepared to Shawn on the topic, but never sent (because he showed up at the house proactively) - well this email got sent and Shawn thought it was leaking again. He was IMMEDIATELY responsive, baffled as to how it could be leaking and literally confirming to me he would be round to sort it and suggesting how he could sort it. I was able to tell him it was an old old email. Shawn stands by his work - that's all there is to say. All in all - Shawn and Home Solutions is my go to contractor for anything from this point forward. I would re-use him without hesitation and if I ever wanted to build a home I would try to talk him into being my general, even though he has made it clear he doesn't do that. AL members - should check out Shawn for any home construction/remodel projects. ---- ORIGINAL INTERIM REVIEW From when I first contacted Home solutions to now is about 2 1/2 months. We are two weeks into the actual project with 4 weeks to go. I wanted to post my initial feedback onto Angie's list. Shawn and the team have been excellent. Shawn strikes the perfect balance - he is creative and flexible when requested but firm on the requirements of good professionally done work and code requirements etc. He is working with me the home owner on accommodating things I want to do at the same time while he has the walls open such as low voltage wiring for my home theater. But my sense is if the home owner wanted no involvement at all, he would deliver that and own everything he commits to - his focus on his responsibility to the project comes across in every dialog with him. He has devised a creative way to use the space in our home to do what we want. So far the work being conducted is focused on doing it well and right (and I am a pain in the a** - I am watching closely to learn things much more than to watch them). There is a focus on cleanliness and concern for the customer's experience while the work goes on. From a business fundamentals perspective, Home Solutions produce good clear quotations that capture all your discussions really well and they are clear about the financials of the project. The are prompt to arrive when they say they would and so far they clear up after themselves as well as can be expected. During the specification of the project Shawn was careful to point out decisions we were taking that would drive cost up, and also ways we could get virtually the same outcome but drive cost down. He cares about the money we are investing in this project. I have used a lot of contractors in the last 15 years. Shawn and Home Solution teams are top-shelf and recommend them to Angie's List members wholeheartedly and without any reservations. In fact - I am just in the process of specifying a third project with him on my Kitchen!

I never got his quote. I was also told that the project probably woudn't be started till early spring. Still would have been nice to receive the quote anyway. I ended up going with Tuff Shed because they quoted the project and followed up. I only got one actual quote back out of 6 contractors who came to measure the site.

I left an inaccurate review because I had the date of our appointment wrong. They called back the next day and reminded me that we had actually scheduled for another day. I was and still am thoroughly embarrassed and very sorry. It was completely my mistake and they were extremely gracious about my error. I can't wait to work with them now. Just so that my douchebaggery can be witnessed in person, here's my original review: "After two seemingly normal interactions with the owner and wife over the phone, they No Call/No Show for our first scheduled appointment to give a kitchen estimate. I waited 30 min for someone to show before I called them. One number went straight to voicemail while the other rang a bit. Left voicemails on both numbers and waited for another 15 min with no response. They are Sprint voicemails so I know it goes to a mobile phone and not to an unattended desk phone. And I'm pretty understanding so I wouldn't mind if they couldn't make it and needed to reschedule. But at least call so I can go on with my day. It's the right thing to do. Apparently they just don't want my business." Had I only given them more time to respond, I would have known that it was my mistake and not theirs. SORRY!

This was a good experience. Shawn and his team were excellent to work with and we would have them back. Remodel included all new wall and floor tile, travertine counters, removal of tub/shower and adding large walk in shower, replacing all the fixtures and two window. The project ran a little longer than was planned (7 weeks versus 5) but the results were outstanding. The quality overall was excellent. Had a few missed days because of workload but nothing serious. We had lots of questions and wanted direction on some of the choices, Shawn was very helpful as well as his team. Kept within budget. Always on-time and kept to a 8-5 schedule which was important to us. Thank you all for the great job.

I saw this advertise from the Angie's List for to buy $10,000 and get $25,000 worth of work and I emailed Jeff Moreno who's from Home Solutions Construction and he got back to me so quick. I got an e-mail at the same night. He was just so polite and I made an appointment and I live pretty far from Sacramento which is 30 minutes and he came out for a free quote which I thought was even better. His price was very fair it's just a little bit more than I could afford at the time. He's very knowledgeable and he answered all my questions very timely. The prices he charged were very, very low for what he's offering.

Shawn and his team tore out the old bathroom shower, toilet, vanity, medicine cabinet, towel racks, and floor. It is a very tiny space, but they made it work and pass all the codes. They opened up a wall so the shower could be expanded to 36"x36", hot mopped it, installed new tile and fixtures, and added a light. We opted to forgo a shower door and use a shower curtain instead due to the small space. They tiled the floor, installed a new toilet, a cute new vanity from Ikea with lots of storage, and an oval mirror to replace the medicine cabinet. And also installed towel racks. Prior to the remodel, there was a folding door, but it was replaced with a standard door. They finished off the bathroom with primer and a fresh coat of paint. I have to say, it was really wonderful to work with Shawn and his team. ALL of them were kind, considerate, pleasant, and easy to communicate with. And, they cleaned up after they finished working.

He showed up on time for the initial meeting, provided a very clear estimate and was professional. Ultimately we selected another vendor, but have nothing but positive comments for Home Solutions.

Home Solutions Construction was fine. In fact, I bought a new coupon to use him again for my master bath. He was very good to get back to me and to address my concerns. They were pleasant people to work with. The tile work was beautiful. I like the tile work. It was very nice.

They were really easy to work with and friendly. They kept it close to my budget that I needed. The tiling was great, they really worked with me to get what I wanted and to keep the budget. They offered a special on Angie's List and I had good savings, so I tried that and why I went over a little bit because I chose a more expensive tile and I had them do a little more tile than was in the contract part. And I had to get a different toilet because I have a wall toilet and that looks much more expensive. They would have been right on if I hadn't done over the tile and couple of other things. They've kind of get in organizing things, so it's a little more disorganized but the quality of work was good, in fact I hired them to do my master bath remodel, which mean they're getting the whole thing as we speak and re-configuring the whole thing. I really like it, they were easy to work with and there's always going to be different thing that come up when you have an older home but they were really easy to work with and try to give you the nest deal. And you know, once you know someone, it;s better to go with the known. Good product and the end result was really nice.

The project was a complete remodel of the existing guest bathroom with the replacement of an exterior window at my primary residence. The workmenship was excellent. There were a few delays with the delivery of materials. However, the professionalism of the work crews, maintenance of a clean worksite, punctuality of the workman, and the responsiveness of the contractor compensated for the materials delay. I have had nothing but compliments with the outcome. During the project, the contractor also came to my aid on another project (bathroom granite counter top installation) at a property I was preparing to put on the sales market. My granite installer was a last minate no show and the Home Solutions came through with the installation which kept my project on schedule for an open house that occurred several days following the installation. I would definately request this contractor to bid my future construction work.

Work commenced on April 1st and was completed on April 23, within the time frame that I was told. Kitchen is located on 2nd floor of townhouse, so there were challenges. Things progressed smoothly. Cleanup occurred after each workday.

All of the Home Solutions work crew were terrific. They were friendly, courteous and thoughtful. They came when they said they would. They were respectful of our home environment. They made suggestions and were very helpful with each phase of the renovation. John, the tile guy, did high quality detailed work. I wanted the glass tiles set in a particular color pattern and he did a fabuous job! Eddie and Shawn were hard workers and responsive to our requests. They remained very calm throughout the process and the set backs. We appreciated that! In the end, we were left with a beautiful new bathroom exactly as we designed it. We would hire Home Solutions again. We are very pleased with the end result.

Home solutions couldn't be bothered to provide an estimate. After 5 weeks I gave up. Oddly, when discussing the proposed bathroom remodel, the estimater was unaware of cultured onyx and didn't seem as knowledgeable as the other contracters we met.

Shawn and crew worked diligently to transform an outdated 70's bathroom into a beautiful "5 star hotel" master bath. I'm still smiling about the results. Shawn was extremely professional and listened to my requests every step of the way, stayed within my budget and finished on schedule. Shawn will be starting my kitchen remodel in February.

After about two weeks, someone called from the office asking if we had received the estimates yet. I told her no. She said she would put a copy in the mail. I also asked if she could email me a copy. She said she would. That is the last I heard from the company. No letter, no email. We had gotten other estimates and decided to go with another firm that really wanted to do business with us. We have the bathroom we wanted. It was a disappointing that someone did not at least call, or ever get back to us. I would not recommend this company. I don't know how their work is, but their getting back to people needs a little work.

We were moving from our home in Dallas to a house in Sacramento that my father-in-law built in 1954. We also had rented it out this house in Sacramento, and the inside of the house was in bad shape. Shawn helped us turn this house into a home.

Shawn helped us make this kitchen the heart of our home. It could not have turned out better. He helped us take down a wall to open it up, helped us every step of the way. Now it is a pleasure to spend time in our kitchen. We only had one small issue about cabinets for the kitchen, somehow he thought we wanted custom cabinets--which was not the case. Once the error was discovered, Shawn went out of his way to help us get to where we wanted to be. We also needed some other things--hardwood floors refinished throughout the rest of the house, and painters for the rest of the rooms. We asked if his crew could also do the painting, and they did an awesome job. He also referred us to someone to do the floors--the floors turned out beautiful. Shawn was so helpful in helping us turn our house here, into our home.
