My front yard was a mess! I wanted to get rid of the grass and re-landscape with low water plants etc. Before I could do anything I need the lawn removed and have the yard graded. Josh and his team did more than just that. I had planned on installing a new walk way. All estimates for concrete were absurd. Josh and his team removed a stump and roots that were running under my house and ready to break my water main. Graded everything. Put in a DG walkway. Repaired some broken pvc lines and laid down industrial grade landscape fabric for less than what the cement walkway would have been. AWESOME WORK AND A PLEASURE TO WORK WITH! Thanks again guys!!!!

We recently bought a house in Sacramento. During the last rainy season we discovered that we had a drainage problem: pools of water formed next to the foundation and water was running underneath the house via the crawl space depression. Over the years, the grade on the north side of the house had developed a slope toward the house (probably due to adding soil for gardening) and the old flexible corrugated downspout drain pipes had clogged or collapsed and didn't run to the curb. Hays Engineering fixed all that. The company owner, Josh Hays, kept us informed about the project schedule and was on site. They contacted utilities to mark underground lines. They regraded the north side of the yard and installed a drainage system consisting of seven collection points using smooth 4 inch drainage pipe (that can be cleaned out if necessary). The Hays Engineering crew used a laser level to ensure that the slope of each drainage pipe was correct. The terminal ends of the drainage pipes were fitted with pop-up drainage emitters. In-ground irrigation pipes were rerouted where necessary. Digging the trenches for the system was done very carefully and they hand dug when approaching an underground line. Mr. Hays and his team were friendly, professional, and answered all of our questions. Not only did Hays Engineering do an outstanding job, the cost was very reasonable. We highly recommend Hays Engineering and would use them again without hesitation.

Fully technical engineering firm with outstanding skills

I have utilized many contractors over the years and have to say I am most satisfied with the work Josh and his team did for me. They were courteous, timely, professional and delivered on all aspects of our agreement. We needed a drainage line installed through our side yard - which we had just remodeled a year prior! Josh said he could install the needed drainage AND return our side yard to its prior condition. I was a bit skeptical that anyone could rebuild the side yard, but darn if Josh didn't do a near perfect job. I am an extremely satisfied customer.

Josh took one look at the slope, or lack thereof, in my backyard and identified the problem immediately, and he had a way to fix that right off. He knows his stuff. Put in drainage, has the downspout going into the new pipe he put in, and it empties into the swale that borders my house. He showed up when he said he would, and got the work done in the timeframe he proposed. Cleaned up very well after. I will definitely hire Hayes Engineering again and recommend the company highly.
