GTL did a fantastic job and paid great attention to detail. We are very pleased with the service and the result. The workers were friendly and professional. Great communication, excellent work, very clean, done on time. Would recommend them to anyone. I kept changing my mind about which rooms to paint, and it didn't faze them a bit. Very happy I picked them to do the paint job.

Alicia and Tommy have been incredible to work with. GTL was very professional and the price was very competitive. They came on 2 different occassions to do the work and both times the work was flawless and looks great. The crew was really positive and hard working. Rather than write a very lengthy narrative, I will list the pros and cons of the experience with GTL. PROS: --As in the other reviews, Tommy and Alicia were genuinely nice people. --During the initial estimate Tommy took all the time we needed, answered our many questions and provided us with a good education of what the job would look like. --Door and paint vendors provided by GTL also told us that they were excellent to deal with. --Every communication was answered within 24 hours, sometimes within minutes. --They came out promptly for the work and rework. --When temperatures were predicted to be 110 degrees on the day of the job, they wisely postponed the work knowing it would not have a quality look. --They were the only contractor we talked with who applied 2 coats of paint on the house. --The painting/door crew was friendly, professional and were genuinely interested in what we wanted. --The house looks great and the paint is excellent quality. CONS: --They were consistently booked 30 days out. --After setting an appointment to finalize the estimate and job scope, Tommy was sent to the wrong house on the wrong day. --It took 46 emails and many phone calls to complete the job, have questions answered, clarify points, ask for rework etc. --The workers showed up at the same wrong house to start the door installation and power wash. We had to get them and guide them to our place. --After telling GTL and the crew we did not want the gutters painted, we came home to over spray and partial paint on most of the gutters. --The door required rework. --In a prospectus GTL gives clients it says "caulk all windows". We asked the crew if they had caulked the windows and they said the old caulk looked good and they had been told not to do it. When questioned, GTL's response was to thank us for the information and that they needed to change the prospectus to read "caulk as needed". --The front of the house was painted the wrong color but the rework was done promptly the next day. --A few times we would talk and agree on something with Tommy only to get an urgent e-mail from Alicia the next morning on the same subject. In the final analysis, we felt the communication within GTL and their attention to details were lacking for this job. We sincerely hope this wasn't typical of a GTL job and that they will return to the level of the previous excellent reviews.

GTL painted the interior of our home a year ago and did a great job, so we contacted them to do the exterior this September. Alicia was prompt in responding to emails about estimates and scheduling. Prior to painting, they powerwashed the house, caulked and primed areas that needed extra attention and applied two coats of high-quality paint. The house looks like new now and they did a great job with the trim work! Their lead painter, Sam, is a nice guy who does first-class work. Will definitely use them again.

GTL Construction was a pleasure to work for from beginning to end. They were very easy to communicate with. The project was handled in a quick and professional manner. I loved the fact that I could communicate with Alicia thru the whole process if I had a concern or a matter that needed attention, it was taken care of promptly. The crew on site was punctual and easy to work with. The prep and painting of the entire interior was done exceptionally well.

Sam and Steve arrived at the appointed day and time. They removed and covered everything that could have been damaged during the power washing or painting. They worked carefully all week, letting me know their schedule as they went along. Sam and Steve were very polite, finished on time, and cleaned up before they left. They did a great job!

The crew was punctual and respectful. We had some issues with obvious paint that was peeling and, had it not been for us telling them not to, they would have painted right over it without taking the time to prep it properly. The overall end result is good, but not excellent, because of lack of attention to detail (i.e., paint not cleaned up from places where it shouldn't be, taking the extra time to prep properly (scraping, primering, taping), and damage to porch railing from hoses being dragged over them that was not seen until after the job was over). We cannot in good conscience give an "A" rating because of this. Concerning the box above, regarding whether we would use the provider again, Yes or No. There was no choice for unsure, which is what we are at this point. To their credit, all but the issue of the railing was brought up to GTL, because it is unfixable, and the offer was made to come out and re-paint areas, but we chose to do it ourselves.

GTL was recommended by the Dunn-Edwards store in Sacramento, Ca. The house is a two story, 2200 sq.ft. residential home built in the late 80's. The property was purchased as a rental and living more than 400 miles from it I needed to hire a company that could be trusted to do quality work without close oversight. GTL was more than up for this. During the prep work for painting, they found extensive dry rot that I was able to see by picture before the work was done. This, despite having a pest inspection service certify it clear. That will be the subject of another review. The owners, Tommy and Alicia Lewis are great people who run a quality operation. They replaced all of the rotten siding and trim, replaced a bad window, and then did a full prime and finish repaint. The house looks beautiful and is now the nicest looking home in the neighborhood. I couldn't recommend GTL more highly.

Everything went perfectly. The starting time was spot-on, the work progressed quicker than we expected, especially with the unexpected discovery of additional dry rot that was encountered. The house painting at the completion of the dry rot repair was accomplished a full week ahead of schedule, which allowed our new renter to move in a week earlier than she expected, which made her SO MUCH happier with the rental experience! We could not be happier! Our home is 40 years old, and looks almost new! Our realtor feels that she could sell this house for much more than the appraised value. We would be more than happy to recommend GTL Construction for any similar project, both for performance and quality, and for the excellent communication that occurred during the course of this project!

This has been our very first experience with any home remodel and paint, and GTL has helped make it a good one. We want to give a shout-out to Omar, Augustin and Julio who not only did a fantastic job with the wall and cabinet sanding/painting, but were also fun and nice folks to have around the house. As we have learned, living in a construction zone can be hugely stressful so they helped soften the stress a bit. We wanted to adopt Omar and Augustin and were sad to see them go once work was complete! We also want to give credit to Carlos, who was great with installing the baseboards, getting the house taped down and primed, and the initial painting started. The baseboards look fabulous and really transformed the home. Alicia is the backbone of the whole GTL operation, and a real pleasure to work with - very communicative and just a genuinely nice person, as is her husband, Tommy. They have been flexible with some schedule needs and a last-minute paint color change. We were in a bit of a rush toward the end because of move-in dates and family arriving, and Omar, Augustin and Julio amazed us with their speed. Thought they jammed through the last few days, they did not compromise quality. They took great care to cover all floors and furniture, and did a great job cleaning up. On the very last day, one minute there were dropcloths, paint tape and paper everywhere and the next minute it was gone! Thanks to the entire GTL crew for making the inside of our house look great! We hope to be able to work with them for the exterior paint for our home.

,Tommy from GTL came out to give me a bid on a home I was purchasing and wanted to have a large portion of the interior rooms painted. Alicia and I spent some time getting the dates nailed down, but they were able to come in right after we moved in and completed the job in 3.5 days, sooner than expected. The painters were great, Omar was our primary painter, but he had additional help on 2 of the days. Justin, (can't remember the other two names) who were also great, and always left our home clean. They did 2 coats as promised and it looks great. Tommy came back the next week to do some final touch ups and to ensure we were happy with the work, which we were!

They were absolutely fantastic. If you walked into my house it looks brand new. It wasn't the most expensive but wasn't the cheapest either. They were so obliging and always on time. They didn't leave until they were done. I would recommend them to anybody.

Tommy Lewis listened to what I wanted to accomplish at his initial visit, and Alicia patiently relayed answers to my additional questions in email. Their experience and willingness to answer my specific questions assured me that GTL could do a good job. The cabinets and drawers had been previously painted, and there were drips and chips needing sanding. In addition, the interiors of the cabinets and drawers had never been painted and were dark and unattractive. Some of the shelves were starting to sag, crown molding needed replacing, a replacement board was needed under the sink, and ceiling paint needed a touch up. Carlos did the initial carpentry, Sam and Tony did all the painstaking sanding and painting, then Carlos came back to install new hinges, knobs, and pulls (I had purchased these separately). I wanted a polished look, and I got it. Visitors often think the cabinets are new, it's that good. I've recommended GTL to a couple of friends who are considering a remodel. I'm sorry to say it's taken me a year to post this review, but that allows me to say that the Dunn Edwards Evershield paint has indeed provided a very tough finish that resists damage and is easy to clean. I've appreciated the bright interiors of the cabinets and drawers, and the kitchen is generally a much more cheerful place to cook. Thank you, Tommy, Alicia, Sam, Carlos, and Tony for your patience and superior workmanship. The kitchen looks great.

This job with GTL did not start off well and should have been a sign of things to come. GTL was originally contacted in 2012 for an estimate for dry rot repair and an exterior repaint job. At the time the appt. was made, I told them that they would need a ladder to inspect some of areas with dry rot. When the owner came out to inspect and provide an estimate, he did not have a ladder with him, declined my offer of using my ladder and also was uninterested in coming back at a later date equipped with a ladder. He said that he could provide an accurate estimate just by viewing the areas such as the chimney from ground level. His assessment of the amount of dry rot repair was not accurate as other companies that did take the time and trouble to get on the roof detected much more work than GTL was able to identify. I did contract with another company for the dry rot repair, but did select GTL for the exterior repaint job. I did a drive- by of their past jobs, but should have inspected them from a closer distance and also inspected repaints of houses with siding. GTL's method is to spray, backroll, spray, backroll again. First, GTL says this is the equivalent of 4 coats of paint when only 2 coats are sprayed on. Other painters that backroll recommended spray, backroll, spray to achieve a smoother finish. Secondly, GTL's painter didn't think that there was a problem with painting the exterior in the full afternoon sun on a day when the temperature exceeded 100 degrees --even when their paint mfg. (Dunn Edwards) doesn't recommend painting under these conditions. The end result of the backrolling and or heat was that the paint surface on the siding came out with an unsightly, heavily stippled finish. Thirdly, I provided the paint for the door, Kelly-Moore Acry-Shield exterior semi-gloss enamel, which they incorrectly said was a contractor grade paint that GTL would not guarantee. It is KM's premium retail paint. The door that GTL painted is blistered in several areas. Finally, the porch light that they re-installed was wired incorrectly causing the breaker to trip and shut down everything electrical on the same circuit. After coming back in 2013 to inspect the stippled siding, GTL originally didn't think that the end result was unacceptable. I indicated that other painters advised that repainting alone would not fix the stippling and that the surface would need to be sanded and repainted. GTL did agree to do just that and an appt. was set to do the work. Here's a breakdown of what happened regarding the repaint: 1. They arrived late after having been delayed at Home Depot by some credit card snafu. 2. They started sanding and repainting only those areas visible from eye level. When I questioned them about that eventually did start to redo all areas instead. 3. They tried to reinstall the porch light using a cordless drill to screw the fixture back in. They gouged the brass back plate of the fixture, stripped the screws and broke one of the screw heads clean off. This fixture cost somewhere between $200-$300 when purchased originally. 4. They tried to go to Home Depot but their truck's battery was dead. I jump-started their truck with my car so that they could leave. 5. Finally--they did want to reimburse me for the cost of replacement parts to repair my light fixture. They mailed me a check made out for the amount of the parts, but the check was not signed. Even if they attempted to do the right thing and endeavor to please, somehow it was one mistake after another. Unfortunately I was the customer so this comedy of errors wasn't very amusing to me. I'm sure that they do satisfied customers based on all the positive reviews, but based on my experience, I cannot be counted as one of them, no matter how sincere their efforts were.

I first contacted GTL construction and spoke with Alicia. . She explained that her husband, Tommy, did not do construction like removing walls or pour concrete. She said she could arrange for a meeting with GTL and a company who did such work. That company was 3D Benchmark Construction. Both Tommy and Mike showed up at the time we agreed upon. I instantly liked both men who were very friendly and listened to what I was hoping to achieve. We discussed possibilities with 3D Benchmark regarding the expansion of the living room and dining room. I discussed with tommy the finish work, which was painting on the interior, exterior, crown moulding, and the beautiful wainscot he applied to a large part of my kitchen. GTL provided me with a friendly work crew who was courteous, on time, and so quiet. At the end of my project Tommy did a walk through and we discussed everything that went on and what he had accomplished for me. If I had any questions or concerns I was able to email Alicia who had answers for me almost immediately. Now I know why this company is so high in Angie's ratings. They are great people to work with and very capable of helping you achieve your goal. I have more projects planned and I will not hesitate to call GTL Construction.

GTL Construction has proven time and time again how amazing they are from start to finish! Customer Service: The owners, Alicia and Tommy, are always upbeat and extremely knowledgeable about the services they provide and the products they use. Their response time is incredible and they are very helpful with answering any questions I have regarding projects. They always go out of their way to be accommodating. Construction: Tommy does a great job by thoroughly explaining all of the moving parts from the initial consultation to the final execution of each project. He is willing to offer recommendations, which I have found to be very beneficial. He has great ideas and stays current on new trends and material use. They are always punctual and prepared once they arrive. They really go the extra mile by prepping rooms to ensure that all existing items (i.e. furniture, flooring, appliances, etc.) are fully protected. They always keep the job site clean and free of debris. Most importantly, their attention to detail is remarkable! I highly recommend using GTL Construction for any new or existing remodeling needs!

Everything was wonderful! We met with Tommy to get a quote, and then did our homework and also received quotes from other companies. After receiving a quote for less with another company, we still decided to use GTL based on 3 things. 1) Their Angie's List reviews (the reason we called them to begin with!) 2) How polite both Tommy and Alicia were on the phone and in person 3) The responsiveness of Alicia. Every time we called or sent an email we had a response beyond was expected. We are so glad we used GTL. The quality of their work is fantastic! We will use GTL again!!!

GTL are an outstanding company, timely , professional and their quality of work is A+. We had a little confusion around the definition of a "room" as the quotes did not include closets or ceilings. After a call with Alicia it was cleared up but there were incremental charges added. Additional charges also added for the amount of colours selected, not that this would have changed our decisions but would have been good to know up front for budgeting purposes. The team to paint the house was Omar and Armando, who were simply incredible. They were prompt, every morning, worked methodically through the house and worked with us to accommodate a laundry list of challenges as we had furniture being delivered, movers in and out. Nothing was a problem for these guys, they just worked around our schedule and still go the job done on time. We will definitely consider using GTL again. THey are priced on the higher end, but you know exactly what you re getting...A+ quality, A+ service.

From the start, Alicia and Tommy were professional and timely. Tommy and his team did outstanding work and were very considerate in keeping the project site clean and and secluded from the remainder of the house. Tommy was great on giving ideas to the project and figuring out how to make things work. Their build quality was impressive and we will definitely use them again. They were always very timely and completed the project on time.

My condo needed upgrades (especially paint) before I could move in. GTL was one of the vendors I contacted after reviewing vendors on Angie's List. Tommy, the owner, came out to the property and we went over what could and should be done as well as color options and the different kinds of paint he would recommend. Afterwards, "the office" (aka his wife) sent me an estimate via e-mail. However, I subsequently had to ask for additional paint work due to an emergency plumbing repair. They were able to accommodate my request and adjusted the bid, slightly. The final GTL bid was competitive with another vendor's bid, but the GTL bid was more professional in appearance (an itemized invoice PDF formatted with the GTL logo vs. the other vendor's e-mail text) and the GTL bid included more detail as to which paints would be used, their standard procedures, warranty info, and payment schedule. Luckily, they had a cancellation in their work schedule and were able to paint my place the following week. On the final afternoon, the office let me know about what time the crew would be finishing so that I could go over and inspect the work before they left. I was very pleased with the final job and friends and family have how they like the color scheme.

Tommy is very easy to work with. They were on time, his crews did good work. I am fairly detailed and had a punchlist of to do items at the end of the job, and they handled it professionally and with a great attitude to make the customer happy. I should have written this review long ago- my apologies Tommy and Alicia.
