Description of Work: I decieded to get all the windows (7) and patio door replaced. As I did not shop around and compare prices I am not sure if it was a good offer but I think it was.

Description of Work: Brian from Good News came to our home and gave us an estimate for window replacements. He was professional and helpful, and even though we ended up just repairing instead of replacing our windows, I was impressed with their service. Would definitely consider hiring them, if we do eventually replace our windows.

Description of Work: We were looking for window replacements. Although we decided to go with a different contractor, i was very impressed by the thoroughness and responsiveness of Good News Home Improvements... It was a close decision, that finally fell out to cost, but they were still reasonable, ( and i thought the windows they use might have a better warranty ) | |They are timely, informed, and take great care in listening to what is wanted, with good suggestions on how costs can be held down... I am definitely saving their card!!

Description of Work: Installed 7 retrofit vynil windows including a garden window. It went great, they were very friendly and responsive to my concerns. The caulking could have been a little straighter in the living room windows next to the sill.

Description of Work: All went well in the end. There were some communication issues and some issues with unfinished work. All started with one minor mistake which was not a big deal. So, Kori and I actually laughed it away, and Roger was very apologetic. So, overall, a good experience. I plan to use them again for another rental property.

Description of Work: They installed 5 retrofit vinyl windows in our home. Ed from Good News came out to do the bid and returned to write up the final contract. Both times he showed up when he said he would. He measured accurately when he came which meant they did not need to make an appointment to re-measure before the install. He discussed several types of windows and alternatives. Ed had some computer issues which prevented him from sending emails with the bid when he had said he would, but he called to keep us apprised of the situation and no time was lost. I appreciated his updates during what I am sure was a frustrating time for him with his computer. We chose them out of 3 bids we got for the job. Their price was the best and they had great ratings on Angie's list. The installers arrived as expected, were quite personalable and installed the windows quickly and efficiently. There was one manufacturing issue with one of the windows which Roger, the Production Manager came out personally to inspect. He contacted the manufacturer and got a replacement pane which he personally installed at the agreed upon time. It was all done professionally, on time and as expected. All in all a good experience.

Description of Work: They replaced our old sliding door, a broken bathroom window, took out an old in-wall a/c and replaced it with a window. Professional work all-round and they came back to repair some nail dents in the walls. Also re-stuccoed exterior wall where window went in. Very satisfied with their work.

Description of Work: I picked Good News because I liked what the salesman demonstrated. He demonstrated the heat blocking abilities of the windows (Amerimax). I liked that but emphasized I wanted windows that blocked most of the noise. He assured me that these windows would do that. So, I had 7 windows installed. Everything went according to plan until after the installation. The windows looked good, however the noise blocking was terrible. I could still hear the morning doves, traffic, trains (2 miles away), dogs barking, rain, and everything else. It seemed as though the windows amplified the noise instead of inhibiting it. I took a closer look at the windows and they look paper-thin. They're supposed to be low e and double pane. The windows are already in so I guess I'll have to live with it. However, I do NOT recommend this company nor their windows.

From the initial consultation to scheduling to the day of installation, the process was smooth, professional and fast. They gave me a very competitive quote; worked with me to truly understand the whole process; and did a great job on installation.

Description of Work: Replaced the siding and added shear on the front of our house. The quality of the product, the knowledge of the product, the professionalism of the contractor and staff, and the overall experience were good. There was one small problem with the transfer of job requirements from the quotation to the job contract. This resulted in a mistake. The owner did his best to ensure adequate correction and provided a small discount to compensate. Overall the work was good and the installation professional. I would recommend this company to anyone.
