I do not recommend Environmental Heating and Air Solutions for the following reasons. I called EHA for a routine maintenance check on an air conditioning unit. The tech came out. and the checkup was done: “The AC unit was in good shape,” he said, but then I was told 2 capacitors were faulty. Although the price quoted to replace them seemed very high ($556), I foolishly agreed to have this done. The next day, suspecting I'd been had, I decided to check the price EHA charged for the price of the 2 capacitors and the less than 10 minutes it took the technician to replace both. Although the EHA office had protested they use only the best and highest quality of capacitors, I found the exact same units online for $12 to $13 dollars each. Checking with other HVAC companies and customer reviews, I found that capacitor replacement is a service for which companies will charge whatever the market will bear, a real money-maker for some of them. And EHA was at the very top, from my perusal of costs. The companies give you a good price on a checkup, then more than make up for it by exorbitant charges such as I paid. Although I had a good experience with another technician (no longer at EHA because he "did not perform up to standards"--he checked out my AC at another residence with no pressure for maintenance contracts, extra work, etc), I will not recommend EHA to anyone because if they will so grossly overcharge for what they did for me, for what other services will they increase the price from reasonable to exorbitant? When I was finally able to contact the head of the company, Matthew Evans, he told me that was a fair price for the service, then offered me $100 refund if I signed an agreement not to write negative reviews. I declined because I hope someone else will benefit from my experience. It's true, I should have just said NO to the EHA technician, and taken the time and energy (even though this happened when I had so little of either) to research this further and call another company. I urge others to learn from my mistake and not agree to any other work, no matter the circumstances, except specifically what you hired that HVAC company for, until you do your research. Another EHA practice I don’t like is not providing an invoice. All the tech wrote was done on a small digital tablet (in bright sunlight, so I couldn’t even see it). Although I asked for an invoice to be emailed to me, I never received it. In addition, EHA does not separate their labor costs from parts costs. In all, their practices are not transparent and they charge exorbitant prices where they can.

The sales rep spent over 90 minutes of my time for the bid and seemed very unsure of what he was doing...I gave him the benefit of the doubt but after 2 weeks never heard from him again. I contacted the company to try and get my bid and the receptionist did not seem surprised that this particular rep did not get back to me. She assured me she would contact him and resolve the problem - another 2 weeks have gone by and I have not heard a thing. We are dual income family and it costs us time and money to meet with contractors - to spend our own time on this and not even get a bid out of it is inexcusable - Don't waste your own time with this company.

The technician and the dispatcher were professional. They did arrive late but they let me know they would be late. The initial cost was way beyond my expectation. I would recommend getting a rough quote via phone, to get an idea of the full work scope cost before accepting the assessment appointment. I would say if they are unwilling to give a rough quote via phone, then go somewhere else as it may be a waste of time.

He recommended about $2,000 worth of work to clean and replace parts of the system that he projected would fail during the next year or so. He also told me that my air return ductwork was too small for my system and should be changed and that I needed several heat sensors to measure the temperature of incoming and outgoing air and adjust the furnace/AC unit as needed. All this seemed to make sense, but I had the same company do a heating system tune up and inspection just 4 months earlier (Nov 2015). At that time, a different technician told me, and documented in his report, that the ducting was OK and system was operating properly. He didn't recommend any of the cleaning or replacements that the April 2016 technician recommended. I wrote an email to the manager (Scott) with a copy to the technician (Matt) asking why the inspection reports were so contradictory and also asking what all the recommended work would cost. (The April 2016 report didn't include any estimated cost to improve the ducting that was identified as the major problem.) It's been a week and I haven't heard back from either the manager or the technician.

Technician was courteous and professional. He trouble shoot all possibilities and made recommendations for saving money in the future.

Recommended replacing the system, but instead they were able to find the refrigerant leak and fix it.

Service provider showed up on time and was very professional. During inspection found a problem with unit that required repair to major component. Technician represented that whole system was incorrect for my home and should be replaced. Worked up quote to replace whole unit and ducting, at a large cost. Did not supply any option to fix existing unit. We did not give him the go ahead even though he used several closes to get the job. We later had two other licensed contractors look at the unit , both said it still had 10+ years of life left and could be fixed. The part was replace and unit works fine for 1/4 the cost of a new system.

They were fine. They were very professional. They came on time and I got my money's worth. The tech that came out could have been more cordial. He was a little bit cold.

Kirk, of Environmental Heating and Air Solutions, was prompt, efficient, and professional. My central heating unit checked out OK, and he gave good advice for maintaining it for optimum performance. He also freely checked an additional electronic filter that had been installed with the heating unit (both of them in the attic and inaccessible to me) and offered advice about that, too. Kirk was very pleasant and presented options without any pressure whatsoever. As a single woman who has occasionally felt taken advantage of by service people, I really appreciate this kind of service.

Did not do a complete check because the tech clamed that there were problems and it wa going to cost a fair amount of money to get it fixed before he could complete the check. Had two other companies come out and there was a problem, different from what was stated. We requested out money back and it was given. Company was very pleasant when my husband called and asked for a refund and helped facilitate the process.

They were fine. They weren’t excellent, they were ok.

We do have a service agreement with them as a result of previous Summer tune up of the system.

Pleasant guy, appeared to know what he doing. Stated I did not need additional refrigant gas.

Only inspection was performed, not other services that were advertised with the promotion. No cleaning. Looked at coils, etc. Told me everything he thought was wrong with unit and repairs estimate, which was very high. My overall impression was that they were trying to sell me a new unit. The unit was old, granted, but I at least expected him to do coil cleaning and replace some refrigerant even though there "might be a leak."

My unit is 26 years old so there was not much he could do that would not cost. If they took apart the unit in the garage they could have thoroughly cleaned it but the expense was up there, $700 or so. Just not ready to do that yet. The technician was very good and helpful.

My wife was home when the specialist came out. They were super nice and very informative. Unfortunately, I don't remember as many details because I was not home to speak to the specialist. Very satisfied with the timeliness and professionalism.

Overall the service performed was fine, but I believe they were very misleading with their coupon. It said "service + one hour of labor". I prepaid for the coupon. After the service, I was charged for labor. When I called to complain I felt the coupon included labor by the way it was worded, I was told someone would get back to me. They never called back. Just bad customer service in my opinion.

Technician did an evaluation of the HVAC system. Took the technician about 1/2 hour of his time and basically recommeded we needed to think about replacing the system. That was it.

I would recommend this company to family and friends. He was not pushy. Very polite. Explained our options in case we needed to replace our A/C unit.

I was disappointed because I live in a modest sized house, it is just 1500 sq ft, but the tech said that for the top of the line unit or I forget the exact term that he used, that it was something like $17000. It just put me off because it was so much money and all I wanted was a tuneup. I would not do business with that company again because it just seemed like a bait and switch. They wanted to get in the house to tell you that you needed a complete replacement. And that might not be what it was, but that is what it felt like. My husband was home, I work during the day and my husband is retired so he was home with him but they didn't leave the refrigerant to my knowledge. The price of the service if they would have provided it would have been great but they didn't provide the service. I don't think he did what the price included in the ad. They were very busy for that time of year but they got back to us right away and scheduled as soon as they could, so responsiveness was very good. I wasn't home but I would say they came when they said they would. I think what they did speaks to their professionalism or lack thereof.

Service tech arrived in afternoon of hot day. Kirk spent approx. 90 mins. to complete check up of heat pump and discovered cause of my concern re. reduction of noise in air input - entire seperation of input duct from bottom (attic side) of heat pump. Previous techs from a different company only used cloth backed duct tape instead of mechanical collar and sealent to mount input duct!!!! Kirk came back early the next morning (much cooler and safer for him) to complete the attachment. We discussed several other non critical items he pointed out and when weather gets cooler we will probably take action on them. Great company with caring personell and I am very satisfied with their work.

The technician was prompt and did a thorough check of my A/C system (I just purchased the house) to make sure it was running efficiently. He made several suggestions for improving the home to conserve energy. I have already suggested this company to others.

Initially we were pleased that we were contacted immediately to get scheduled for the tune up. It was the following day. The young man who did the work was kind, but not thorough. He did not wear shoe covers when entering the house after working outside and tracked dirt through two separate entrances through the house. He was great about telling us about the unit, and discovered two parts needed replacing. Costing us 700$ in the end, rather than the 60$ Angie's list deal. We were happy to replace the parts, and seeing as the company had great reviews, I trusted the work would be done well. We signed the documents and he returned the next day. This is where things began to go very wrong. While I trust the work was completed as stated, he again tracked in dirt and at the end of the job, left debris and a sharp screw on the floor of our hallway. I would not have been so upset had I not swept and mopped after he left the day before, and I have three small children that could have found the screw. I contacted the company and it took over a week to finally talk with them. I let them know I was unhappy with the lack of clean up and that a cleaner had been left behind in our backyard. While there was an apology, they also excused the young man saying it was "not like him". I prefer to deal with a company that trusts the customers' word, and doesn't try to explain away what happened. I spent two evenings vacuuming and mopping my floors, and then scheduled to have someone pick up the cleaner. I stayed home all that morning, no one came to pick it up. I did receive a call saying she had forgotten to put it on the schedule, so I scheduled another morning. That time, someone did show up. For me, this is a complete lack of respect and professionalism. We will not use this company again. I do trust the work we paid for was completed and was completed correctly.

I own an out-of-state rental and I ordered their angies list special for tune-up. They did a great job of coordinating with the tenants and checking in with me when it was complete to let me know of any futher maintenance recommended.
