Auburn Moving and Storage

The character that called me took about 10 minutes to explain why he and his workers would NOT comply with CDC or State of CA mandates regarding COVID. At the end of his rant, I calmly said, "Do you know who you're taking to?" I am a former VP of American Medical Response--the largest provider of EMS services in the U.S. -- we provided the medical care on 9/11 and our folks are back in the middle of the COVID crisis. I'm the co-founder of a medical device company providing monitoring of COVID patients. This is NOT a hoax; it's NOT a joke. All of these movers need to comply -- protect their workers and clients.

I drivers were on time and very polite. The younger men of the two was willing to do all that I asked with out complaining. The older of the two men was more interested in me signing the contract and paying. I felt as though he felt he should only work a short period of time. Because I was required to pay for a minimum of two hours of work I wanted to get as much done as possible. I stopped asking for assistance at 1 hour and 15 minutes because I was beginning to feel guilty. I have worked with your company before and felt as if it was a very positive experience. I believe this was the employee instead of the company. That is the reason I would use the your company again.

There was damage to some of the furniture - scratches on leather couch and chairs, parts missing on desk, cracked/broken lamp fixtures. Workers were running late and did a sloppy putting furniture together - I had to reassemble only to discover significant damage. Cost for services provided were more than I would have expected. Also, I felt I was overcharged for boxes. Example, one large box had a couple of Tupperware containers and 2 plastic cups. Excessive wrapping as well. Why on earth would you need 3 sheets of wrapping paper to wrap one Tupperware container. Would have been nice if the extra wrapping was around the lamp fixture. Did speak to a representative and they indicated the owner may call me. That was 2 weeks ago and no response.

From estimate to packing to loading to delivery - these guys did a great job! Chose them based on other reviews and wasn't disappointed! Took great care in packing, loading and unloading. Cheerfully tolerated my indecision in placement of items at the new place! Came in just under estimate as an added bonus. Tireless workers with great attitude and respect for the client. Kudos to Aaron on the estimate; Chris J, Michael, Lucas, Mike, Nathaniel and Al on the move!

Staff was professional from quote of the project to completion of the move. They returned my call immediately and scheduled a in-home quote. Everything went as stated, and the moving team was professional and careful with handling and packing. One inexpensive bookshelf was damaged and they immediately brought it to our attention and added a credit to our final invoice.

Red Ball is big back in the eastern United States and I didn't think they had them in the western states. I was pleased. I am ex military and during my military career, my wife and I moved 9 times and these guys are better. Their home office is in Indianapolis but they go all over the United States, and they contract with authorized Red Ball movers.

They were great, they even come in under bid. It's outside of Auburn, CA. They were the third company I called, they came out and gave us an estimate. We had a screwy kind of move, we were selling our house in Citrus Heights, CA which is 15 miles from Auburn Moving company. And we were looking to find a good long haul outfit. They came out and gave us an estimate and we told them we wanted to move on June 30th and our delivery in CA would be on July the 9th or 10th. The guy that owns the company is Shawn Miner and I dealt with him, and we agreed we would put some stuff in storage. We sold the house on May 30th with a closing of June 30. We wanted them to pick it up and put it in storage on the 26th of June. That was on a Friday, we sold the house and did everything like we were supposed to do. The real estate company closed on the loan early on Friday the 26th, which put us in a real pickle because we had movers scheduled to pick it up on the 26th and the 27th. We were in a real pickle, they came out on Thurs and packed everything and then on Friday they came out and packed the stuff that was going in storage, and then on Saturday they were supposed to pick everything else up. Because they closed on the 27th, the guy said he wanted to get into his house, and the real estate agent really put me behind the 8 ball. Because we had to do things in a big, big hurry which we had not planned on doing. We had planned on having a little bit better situation. The guys from Auburn Moving Company just were outstanding. They came out and packed everything. I have 2 model airplanes and they packed them so the wings wouldn't get broken or anything like that because they're made out of balsam wood. And the delicate stuff like chandeliers, they put bubble wrap all over everything. They took all of the main furniture, our bedroom furniture and all that other stuff and everything that they packed up on Sat, the 27th and put all of that stuff in storage because we didn't have a finalized date on when they house would be completed. We told them we would like to move the house stuff on the 9 or the 10th of July and come to find out we couldn't get into the house until the 11th. So they had to move back their schedule with their long distance carrier so that they could have the truck out here on the 12th and 13th. They were really nice about it, they were very very flexible. They took everything out of storage and put it on the truck and we didn't fill up the truck. We only had a half a truck and then they showed up on the 13th and had called us the night before to tell us they were coming in. Showed up and put the stuff in our house. And while they're moving us in, other people were bringing in our new refrigerator and washer and dryer and it was a three ring circus, but the movers got thru it with no problem at all. We had 1 scratch on all the furniture and we lost something that wasn't very important but we still haven't found. And then we played Christmas for the next 3 days opening boxes. These guys were really, really professional. I've forgotten the name of the truck driver and his 2 assistants that were hauling everything in. There was no fuss, no muss. Everything got here, there is one scratch on my wife's dresser and if you don't know where it is you won't see it. They gave us a big discount, and the good thing was they worked with us. They weren't come in, do it their way, hit the door and god bless you and good luck. They were really really careful and thorough and funny. The team that he has up there, Mr Miner's team, were very good people. They were joking and doing this and that so they made the work light and lively for them. The other thing was, on move out day they had to stay later so they didn't get out of there until almost 630 in the evening on that Sat. which goes beyond what we had expected. We thought they would try to hurry it up and they didn't. But they did everything very very professionally. I would recommend them to anybody.

They quoted us a price of about $1800 for 4 people and two trucks for an estimated 10 hours. They actually sent two people and one truck and got the job done in just about the same time quoted and the charge was about $300 less than the original quote since they had less people/trucks. Their initial estimate was better than several other movers in the area so the price was really good. The movers were on-time, careful and everything went without a hitch. An excellent experience.

I have used them three times. I have used them as far back as 2006. They did really well. They were very responsive when you needed things in a certain room or packed in the truck even when things were noted as fragile. They are really good about it. Granted it was not a far move but everything has gone really well with my moves with them. The first time using them in 2006, and they were able to do the day I needed it and the next day it snowed. They weren't originally going to be able to do it but they pushed it and it worked.

I work normal business hours, so to accommodate me the guy came out to my house at 7 am to give me a quote -well before he normally starts work. They confirmed my move work me one week and also one day ahead. The crew arrived on time, was professional and courteous. They knocked over one plant, but everything else made it without even a scratch! I was very pleased as they say in any move you can expect to have about 15% of your things broken.

Service was good, found no items broken or damaged. Took longer that estimated. 2 trips to complete. We would use them again. Good Company.

The scheduling went well. They were available when I needed them. The day before the move, I found out the cabinet painters at the new house had not finished and would be there the morning of the move. I called Auburn Moving to see if we could move it a couple of hours later. They called their customer whom they were moving after me and were able to accommodate me. Very helpful! I only had them move big items and they took great care in wrapping my antique furniture carefully and even wrapped up my piano for storage in my garage at the new house. The three guys who came out were so nice and professional. I've had Auburn Moving move me three times in the last 15 or so years and they've always done a good job. These guys were particularly polite and nice though.

The truck arrived promptly and the guys got straight to work removing the boxes I had already packed, and packing my kitchen as pre-arranged. The guys were all courteous and efficient. They were equally efficient and pleasant to work with when they unpacked the truck. Oh, sure, the next day, I did find a few small items that they or I forgot, but that was to be expected and was no big deal to me at all. This was, by far, the best move experience I have ever had, and I have moved my home and my business on several occasions through the years. Nothing was broken or even scratched. I was very pleased and will proudly recommend this company.

Overall the move went well. They showed up on time and worked quickly and efficiently. I had packed most of my belongings, but I had them pack my flat screen TV. The time estimate for 3 men had been 9 hours. The 4 men finished in about 7 hours. Three of the four movers seemed very experienced and careful. One mover was younger and a little careless. All were respectful and pleasant. There was some damage to one chair (leg knocked off) , but it was minor and it is an old chair that I don't care much about. My only notable disappointment was that the moving truck they brought was not big enough for all of my things. I did have a company rep out to the house for the quote and I showed him all of the items to be moved. When it became apparent that not everything would fit, I asked them to leave a few light-weight items behind so that I could move them the next day. I saw them handling the heavier items (like the barbecue) and in the confusion of moving, I assumed that these things were on the truck. It was only when we arrived at the new house that I discovered that more items than I thought had been left behind, including a few large heavy items. I had to make 2 trips with a pickup truck and an SUV the next day to pick up the items left behind. Also, the person who gave me the quote gave me a "not to exceed" price, and told me that if it took more time than he estimated, I would not be charged for the extra time. He specified 3 movers. On the day of the move, 4 movers showed up, and the lead man explained that it could cost more than the quote, if they took the full time with 4 men. I felt like that was a change in the conditions of the deal, but I was kind of stuck with it as I had to move that day. In the end, the bill was pretty close to what I had agreed to, but some items were left behind. It seemed to me that if I had them make a second trip to get the items left behind, they were going to charge me for the extra time.

They arrived on time. They were very friendly and professional. They got everything done in less time then estimated. And they came in under budget! I will definitely recomend this company!

Had contacted this company after seeing the discount online from Angie's list. After reading a number of positive Angie's list for this company, I decided to call them for an estimate. After speaking with the office staff a few times, I decide to have them come out for an estimate and get some free packing boxes at the same time. The gentleman who came by was pleasant and professional. We talked about the job, the costs and the timeframe it would take to complete the job. He gave me a lot of info and an estimate for job. Given that I was working with an owner I thought we can get a huge discount with Angie's list. Unfortunately, this was not the case. I received a bid 1000+ dollars more than the competition and he never gave me my free boxes! He told me in the beginning that he was coming from another estimate and was not able to stop by the office to pick up those boxes. He assured me that he was going to get me those boxes later. This never happened.

Auburn Moving representatives arrived at each location on time and worked diligently to get the job done. All staff were professional, friendly and top-notch. They packed everything with the utmost care. We did not pack one item. They did it all. We have some expensive and extremely fragile items. Everything arrived in excellent shape. I honestly did not think that one of my precious vases would arrive in one piece, but it did. From start to finish, we have absolutely no complaints. We recommend this firm without reservation.

The Auburn Moving Co. provided us with excellent service. The six employees who moved us were professional, courteous and in good humor throughout the long day. They worked as a team and were kind to each other as well as to our family. They went the extra mile to help us and did not say no to any request despite the challenges we presented to them. When we arrived at our new home they carefully moved the furniture and boxes to the appropriate room and took great pains to make certain that the furniture was positioned in the desired location before they left. They truly made the move much less stressful due to their positive attitudes. The example for the employees was set by Sean Minor, the owner who came to our home to give us the estimate. He was courteous and straightforward. He was honest and made us feel that he really cared about our belongings. He gave us a reasonable price and was able to schedule our move with relatively short notice. His company and employees delivered on all promises made. It went well. It took longer than I thought, but they were great. The whole crew were professional and friendly, worked at a good pace, and were very helpful. I recommend them highly. The office personnel were just as helpful. Excellent.

Very well. This was a residential move and one item was a complex office system that included two desks, bookcases, a rolling ladder and multiple electrical hookups. All was assembled perfectly along with other furniture. The crew was very courteous and accommodated our requests for furniture placement cheerfully even when we changed our mind. Their attitude made a stressful situation much easier and they get a high recommendation from us.

Our move went really, really well thanks to the outstanding support from Auburn Moving Company. We were still boxing up our own personal items when the movers arrived (15 minutes early, very nice!). They were so courteous, friendly and worked extremely well as a team. They did a walk through not only during the first time (when they provided an estimate) but walked through each room on move day, committed to memory which furnishings were designated to go where in the new house, and wrapped all furniture that needed TLC. On arrival to the new house, the team did another walk through, asked questions and made suggestions when we were unsure about whether an item would fit properly. They also re-arranged several items until we were satisfied with their location...WITHOUT complaint! These men were funny, polite, respectful and UBER hard-workers!! I would heartily recommend the Auburn Moving Company to all of my friends, family and co-workers. The owner, Rob, set the standard with his initial visit and estimate. The bill of lading came in UNDER the estimate, and though we didn't use them for transporting our boxes (probably a mistake on our part but we were trying to save money), Auburn Moving Company was more than willing to adjust their schedule and re-bid to include moving any items we couldn't move ourselves. What an amazing experience at a very stressful time in our lives. Two thumbs WAAAAAAY up for this professional, likeable team! :-)

I liked Auburn moving and I would absolutely refer them again!! I am a residential property manager and we have decided to include this company with regards to move because they did a fantastic job.
