Jim came out and checked the unit throughout, then determined that the issue was a loose electronic thermostat losing contact with its base. The bill was $70, I paid $80 because the service was superb.
Description of Work: My A/C was cutting in and out, not running properly.

Before calling to make the appointment I had used a popular search engine entering the symptoms of my issue, the water dispensed through the freezer door slowing to a trickle over the recent few months and concluded that the most likely culprit was a bad dual inlet water valve. I mentioned this to Jim on the phone when making the appointment, and he said that although the issue could also be frozen lines inside the freezer he'd make sure to bring a compatible valve. Once he showed up he got right to work, and the first thing he checked was the valve - which sure enough turned out to be the problem (score one for the popular search engine). He quickly replaced it, and he was done 30 minutes after arriving. It seems that there is a minimum labor charge of an hour, because the labor charge was $64. This was not revealed up front. Other than that everything was great.
Description of Work: Diagnosed and remedied slow water coming through the door dispenser of our refrigerator. The serviceman (Jim, I think) got lost on the way to my house and had to call to get his bearings, but still fell within his predicted 2-hour time window.
