PREMIER CONSTRUCTION

I contacted Mike Koch of Premier Construction in January of 2014. Here it is, the end of May (2014) and my project still has not started. It is nowhere near ready to start. I allowed this service provider to string me along for five months. I feel like a fool having allowed him to waste so much of my time. I was ready to get rid of him a month or so ago. I asked him why my project wasn't progressing any faster. He accepted no responsibility and blamed everything on me and my schedule. I travel a lot for work. So, I made myself more available - almost everyday. Nothing changed. He continued to miss appointments and not call to let me know he wasn't coming. I had an appointment with him on 05/20/14. I didn't hear anything from him until I called him on 05/24/14 to tell him that he's wasted enough of my time and that I would find someone else. I wouldn't recommend Mike Koch or Premier Construction to anyone. Ever. My advice: Stay away from this company! ***Update*** Mike's response is the kind of slick double talk you can expect from him and his company (Premier Construction). Pay special attention to the fact that he never addressed missing countless meetings or his failure to call to say he wasn't going to show up. Mike held himself out as a kitchen designer (he said he's done so many) and custom cabinetry designer and maker. He told me I didn't have to hire an architect to design the kitchen or other custom cabinetry that I wanted. He said he could do it all. He did nothing but waste my time. He was supposed to provide me with a cost estimate and do the work. He did neither. He never asked me what my budget was; he only said I would have to tell him at some point. Who tells a contractor their budget upfront? I had no trouble making final decisions. Mike never presented anything that required a final decision. He didn't personalize any design. He simply took something from another project and presented it as if he made it just for you - this was the case with the custom bookshelves he presented me. He also kept showing me pictures of the exterior of his home as an example of what I can do to mine. I told him countless times that I don't like river rock. He kept trying to force a Miele washer and dryer on me. I told me over and over again that they were too small. So, this wasn't about me being unable to make decisions. It's about him not listening. Toward the end when Mike knew he was about to be let go he offered to piecemeal me quotes. I wasn't interested in that. In the end, I hired an architect to put a design together for me. Your results may vary. But, in my opinion, Mike Koch is a colossal waste of time. Don't even bother calling him.

Spectacular service and excellent quality of finished piece. Would recommend without hesitation.

MIKE CAME TO OUR HOME AND SPENT A CONSIDERABLE AMOUNT OF TIME GOING OVER PICTURES AND HELPING US CREATE A CUSTOM MANTLE. IN ADDITION TO THE MANTLE, HE WAS ABLE TO CREATE MOLDING AROUND THE HEARTH OUT OF LEFT OVER FLOORING. THE WORK WAS PERFECT!!
