Description of Work: We have a service contract with Service Champions. They replaced an old (20+ years) furnace. We got a discount for having the service contract and for paying cash. So far the furnace is working well though it may need some adjustment.

I was promised phone calls from the service tech the same day of service when the heater quit working but no one called

Description of Work: Well it all went great until Christmas day when we discovered the heater wasn't working at all. They came the day after and the service technician discovered melted wires inside the heater so something was defective. He fixed it in a few minutes and all is well. The heater works great and the service was good just troubling that the brand new unit had an early defect.

Description of Work: My initial cost was $59.00 for a 21 Point Furnace Tune Up and Gift Card. However, when the inspection of my furnace was done, it needed some work. Kao cleaned up the blower motor, replaced an aging part, and put in a new, more efficient filter. I also purchased a one year maintenance contract. The final cost for this work and parts was an additional $561.40. I feel this was a bit steep, but I do know the furnace seems to be working better now. Kao was knowledgeable, polite and helpful, even when he had to return at the end of the day to install the correct size filter for my system. |As part of the system inspection, Kao went into the crawl space to view the air ducts. The end result of that inspection was not good. I need to replace the rusted out duct work. When I asked for more information, Kao was able to have someone come to the house that same day to give me an estimate on the cost of that work. Roberto explained the cost of the duct replacement, and I was shocked to hear it would be in the neighborhood of $6600! While I believe the work has to be done, I did not appreciate being pressured to sign a contract for the work that very day and have the work done during the winter months. I do not want to do work on my furnace that would leave me without heat for 2 days in the winter time. I also would not sign a contract for work costing that much without further research, including getting other bids. I asked if I signed then, could I have the work done in the spring when the weather was warmer, but Roberto was insistent that the work had to be done right away, and made comments such as, "We can't guarantee that the price won't go up in the new year," and "You can pay us or you can pay PG&E for the wasted energy," caused by the bad duct work. I did not appreciate the hard sell tactics. Needless to say, I did not sign the contract at that time. I may still use Service Champions for the duct work replacement, but not until I am comfortable with the bid and not until I can have the work done on my time schedule--not theirs.

Description of Work: To be honest, I don't know when my last service was. I am on a maintenance contract with them where I pay a $12 monthly fee. They come out twice yearly to do regular inspections and maintenance. Their customer service is EXCEPTIONAL!!! They call to schedule regular maintenance, and call when tech is on his way. Technicians are always friendly, respectful, clean cut (no long hair, tattoos, etc.) and knowledgeable.

Description of Work: They put a camera in my furnace told me it had a crack and I should not use it. When I asked is it worth doing any other test he used an inferred camera for a couple of minutes. Then called the company about a refund because he could not test the system. "they said they would send a check in 7 to 10 days" only to call back and say I had to go through angies list and was turned down.

Description of Work: Installed new 95% AFUE Amana furnace. Crew arrived on time, were courteous and professional, and answered our questions regarding the installation. They returned a week later to perform Title 24 pressure check and determined that one of the duct "Y"s had detached from the plenum. They repaired duct at no additional charge. Also installed outdoor temp sensor and Honeywell hub for remote control of the thermostat. Setup and instructed us on remote use.

Description of Work: Semi-annual service. Always do a good job. Occasionally, try to sell something additional to the service being done. Staff are usually very pleasant and always careful about covering shoes when they enter the house.

Description of Work: They inspected, serviced and cleaned the furnace/AC unit at my house and also got my UV air purifier working. Having only owned the house for ~1yr, I suspect there was some neglect of the heating, cooling, and air purifier systems that they have now been corrected, which likely accounts for the higher than expected costs for maintenance. I will really be able to evaluate the cost of service over the next couple of years. All other aspects of their service were exceptional, therefore I would recommend them to others.
