S & G CARPET AND MORE

We had carpet installed in our house two weeks ago and our experience with S&G was very poor. 1. On the planned installation date, we realized that they had delivered the wrong carpet. Mistakes happen, so it's difficult to get too upset about this. The problem with this is that the communication around the next steps was horrible. The installers left our house without saying anything to us and did not let us know what to expect next. Multiple emails and calls to the Rocklin store went unanswered and their customer service team was unwilling to commit to a rescheduled date for the installation. 2. Because of my frustration, I escalated this to their Director of Customer Service (Robert Jennings) and their VP of Operations (Fernando Jacobo). Crickets. The fact that their senior leadership ignored a request for support to help get updates on the delivery and the rescheduling of the installation speaks volumes to the ineffectiveness of their organization. 3. We finally were able to get the carpet installed after multiple communication failures. The quality of the installation was decent, but there are a few areas that reflected poor workmanship: gaps between the carpet and the new baseboard (that they installed for us), trim pieces on the stairs that were removed after they had been painted and then were reinstalled crooked with no caulking, and small pieces of our old carpet that were not removed (we spent a good hour on all fours to remove the old pieces). This was a very disappointing experience for us and it turned what should have been a one-week project for the painting (other subcontractor) and carpet into a 3-week ordeal.

They didn't have the same laminate that I had used, but I had enough left over where they could come over and do it. I wasn't happy that they charged $400 when I had my own supplies. It is a small bathroom. $400 is their minimum charge. It took them a couple of hours to do the job. I think they should have given me a break.

They were punctual. When there was an issue they addressed it immediately. This was the third house that I used S&G to redo flooring. I plan on using them again on the 4th house.

S&G in Rocklin did a spectacular job from consultation to installation. The entire sales staff (Lisa, Damon, Travis and Shannon) that we worked with were patient, professional and accommodating. The installers (Jason and crew) knew exactly what they were doing and went over and above expectations to ensure an excellent job. This was a big deal for us and they really made it happen. The entire house looks amazing.

The carpet did not come when expected. The installer said that he did not have enough carpet and had to piece together the carpet with multiple seams in the hallway which were not on the original layout provided by S and G. When I called S and G they said to go ahead and have the carpet installed and they would address the issues with the seams if they became a problem. They also sent 2 different pieces of carpet with different dye lots that the installer pointed out to us. He had to strategically place the different pieces in closets that were separate from other carpeted areas. Since they had already pulled out the carpet and we were expecting family the next day, we did not have any other option than to have the carpet installed.

Their tile guys were masters and they did some custom vertical tile instead of molding and that went spectacular.

Outstanding-took a sample from my saved cutting, and patched the damaged area. Looks like it was never patched.

they never called with estimate, I had to call them, price was way out of line.

We drove to the Rocklin showroom to pick out laminate flooring and schedule a measurement for an estimate. Both the sales person and measurement tech were courteous and professional. But...that was over three weeks ago and we still don't have an estimate. They did call about a week after measuring to get my email address but they never followed through. Not very professional in my opinion.

I would recommend them to my family and friends. I will use them again in the future.

As time moved along, they answered questions but service began to slow down. They lost a competing quote I sent in and they were a bit slow to answer emails and return phone calls. I would have still used them IF they had been able to get the tile I wanted in a timely manner. They kept telling me it would take about a week to get the tile but when I finally choose one, it turned out it was going to take closer to 3 weeks to get it and finalize the job. this would have meant I would have a torn up floor when my company arrived for a month's visit! If that had not been two children, I would might not be as concerned about it all but it would have been a diaster since I was doing so much area.

The saleperson, although he admitted to me that he was new at his job, was very helpful and knowledgeable. The installation went very well and had to be the fastest installation of a floor I have ever seen in my life. The jobsite was left neat and clean and I'm left with a brand new beautiful hardwood floor!

Their service was excellent. Their installers were wonderful and the store itself gave us a lot of help in picking and choosing our laminate. Their price was competitive. I would use them again in the future if necessary.

IT WENT VERY WELL. IT WAS VERY PAINLESS FOR US BUT IT WAS A REALLY HARD JOB FOR THE CONTRACTORS WHO NEVER COMPLAINED AND DID A WONDERFUL JOB.

They did a phenomenal job. The gentleman was very polite and answered all our questions that we had. They did a wonderful job. Supposedly there is a seam but I cannot find one. The workmanship, I could not have asked for anything better.

THEY REALLY HELPED CHOOSE WHAT WAS BEST FOR US. WE HAVE SOMEONE IN THE HOME WHO USES A WHEELCHAIR AND THEY SHOWED US CARPET AND PADDING THAT WOULD LAST LONGEST. THEY REALLY SEEMED TO CARE.

WE RESPONDED TO A SALE OFFER. THEY HELPED US SELECT CARPET THAT WOULD WORK BEST FOR OUR HOME. THEY HELPED US MOVE THE LARGE FURNITURE. THE INSTALLATION LOOKS GREAT AND THEY TOOK AWAY THE OLD CARPET FOR US.
