LAVISH GARDENS LANDSCAPE

It went poorly. Incomplete and inaccurate estimate. Insufficient planning and implementation. Multiple weeks past completion date. Multiple call backs. Did not conform to provided manufacturers installation instructions. Would not consider ever using this company again.

I wanted to landscape my backyard and had some very specific ideas. Lavish Gardens was able to bring my dreams to life and I absolutely love my backyard. The front yard was an "enhancement" of a previous project and in the end, I got just what I wanted. The project manager and crew were quite professional and personable. Their crew is very hard working...working into the earlier evening to finish off an aspect of the project. There were moments when I didn't know when or if work would be done on my project and though I understand that my project wasn't the only one in the pipeline, I did get a little frustrated. The project took a bit longer than I initially understood it would take. There was an issue with a subcontractor which, at times, made the experience very unpleasant.. Communication between subcontractor, his employee and Lavish Gardens was a bit sketchy at times. What I appreciate about Lavish Gardens was their ability to take my ideas and make them a reality. Their attention to details is very good. The overall result is beautiful and exactly what I wanted. Yes, I would use them again.

Lavish Gardens was a pleasure to work with. From the beginning they were able to work within our budget to pencil out what we wanted. First they sent out a landscape designer who worked with us over several days to come up with a detailed schematic / plan set for the yard. Our designer was open and listened to our wants and needs. He came up with very creative solutions to our issues, like our dog run. Also he chose plants that looked great while were within our pet and water constraints. When our design was ready, it was time for construction! The construction crew came, laid it out with spray paint on the dirt so we could get a feel for what it should be, and then went to down. It took about 2 months of construction. During the construction process they gave us various choices as to what we wanted (for example, color and stamping design of the concrete, or what type of design we wanted on our retaining walls). We were able to go to the concrete store and hardscape stores to look at samples, or the samples were brought directly to us, like the time they left us small piles of bark to choose from, which was very nice to see in person. Whenever we needed to discuss something about the yard, either the owner (Michael Cole) or the construction lead (Steve Long) were very responsive and on site, or on the phone within minutes. They listened carefully to all our concerns and issues and provided prompt resolution. I highly recommend them. I put pictures of the final result on my blog, www.chrislott.net.

After many attempts to get a hold of them a young man came to the house and got the info he needed to draw the plans. It took a while for him to get back with me to show me the plans he had drawn. after two meetings with him, the owner of the company called and wanted to come out to finalize the plans that had been drawn. We walked around the yard and all seemed to be good, he made a few changes on the plans and said he would get a price for me and email it. I have not heard from the company since that date. Never got any prices or calls or anything!!

My experience with them was very good. I met with Mike first who came to assess the scope of the project. He set me up with Daniel who did my landscape design. I enjoyed working with Daniel. He was attentive to what I wanted and tried to incorporate the kinds of plants etc that I wanted. We met twice and communicated between. When the design was completed Mike gave the estimate. My only disappointment was that the final plan was more complex than I had really requested and the price much higher than I expected. Mike had given me a ball park figure what a renovation like mine would be in the beginning. We eliminated non essential things, like rock wall seating but the cost was still higher than my budget permitted. I enjoyed working with them. I enjoyed working with them. They were very professional.

They presented everything well. I would recommend them.

We met first with the owner, Michael Cole and did a walk around. We'd done our research on design ideas, but his suggestions were an excellent addition. We also needed to replace the entire back and side fences-Michael suggested a fellow contractor that he trusted and who could provide a lower price than Lavish. (That project turned out wonderful!) The next step was a walk around with his designer, Anthony, who did an excellent job "fleshing" out the plan. He provided us with excellent concept drawings. His knowledge and suggestions on what types of plants/trees to install were very helpful and logical for our design. The crew supervisor, Jim, arrived on time the first day and his crew worked quickly to remove all the old junk and trees we had selected to replace. As the project progressed, Jim would never hesitate to consult with me if there was some difference between the plan drawings and what we had told him- I like that- asking is good! The stucco finish and stone cap they applied to our existing cinder block planter bed was wonderful!! It looks really good. Again, Jim noticed that the specs differed a little bit from what would work better- again, he called and checked with us before going ahead. We're 99% complete now-just waiting for the water feature to be wired-but I would happly recomend Lavish Gardens for any similar project you may have. They are prompt, knowledgeable, helpful and responsive in both planning and execution. Thanks to Michael, Anthony, Jim and all the crew for a great job!!!

We had a fantastic experience with Lavish Gardens. Everyone we worked with from top to bottom was experienced, kind, and very detail oriented. Our backyard has gone from an area we used a few times a year to a true extension of our house that we use every day and night. Everyone who has come over has been blown away by the transformation. We highly recommend them.

Soooooooo professional and highly responsive. Never any surprises and did a fantastic job! Can't thank Mike, Jim and their team for taking all the stress out of our landscape project.

This was an amazing process. After getting estimates from three other landscaping providers, I decided on Lavish Gardens. They stood out from the others in that they seemed very interested in providing me the information I needed to make the right decision for me, instead of trying to sell me on their own ideas. They were incredibly professional - providing me everything in writing with detailed information on the cost of each item so I could pick and choose everything I wanted done and still be within my budget. They worked hard to help me get everything I wanted and then some! When the work began, it went so fast! Their workers worked so hard to get everything done within just a few days. And when I made last minute changes, they were happy to adjust to the new requests. I would highly recommend that if anyone wanted to get their yard landscaped, they should definitely go with Lavish Gardens. Not only do they provide you with a beautiful yard in a very short amount of time, they are friendly and professional - making the whole process a pleasure!

I recently had Lavish Gardens come out to landscape my backyard. Since I had never worked with a landscaper before I did not know what to expect. Max came out to help me plan my backyard. I had some ideas of what I wanted and Max helped me put my plan on paper. He helped me pick the right plants for the right area and made suggestions that really helped. When the day came to start work I was really excited to see all the weeds disappear. In no time at all my yard was done. It turned our better than I expected. Everyone who worked on it came in and went right to work . It was great. Thank you Lavish Gardens for the great job you did. I am really enjoying my yard.

He arrived on time and did the job as bid. He did alittle morwe and cleand up some yard debree. Was polite and very helpful.

It did not go well. First call, the estimator did not show. Second call, estimator took measurements and made suggestions. Got back to me as promised in two weeks with a delay that turned out to be three additional weeks. The next communication was a contract that I was required to sign without seeing the plan or talking to anyone at the company. I refused to sign the contract without first seeing the plan. It was sent online and very hard to read. Pictures of plants did not match the plants listed in the plan. By this time, I was done with the company

We worked with Ken from Feb - August 2013 to complete our landscape design concept for the front, side and back yard of your home. Ken worked at the pace we were able to commit to and was always prepared for each of our meetings. He was flexible with his time and prompt. The design gave us the direction we needed so we can proceed in an efficient way with the work. We would use his services in the future.

The job was done fantastically, very professional. I couldn't have been more pleased, the yard looks fantastic.

Apparently this company is only interested in big dollar projects. Called for an appointment to give estimate on 8/19 and was called back the next day and set up appt for 8/21. The lady that made the appt said Max would come out at 3pm on the 21st. Max called on 8/21 and asked for a description of what we wanted done. I explained that we had two small area's (15 x 30 ft) and another (10 x 20) that we wanted artificial turf in one and possible a putting green in the other. He asked if we wanted any thing else such as plantings etc. I told him no just turf. His response was that they only did larger jobs and would call me with another company that would probably handle our job. Unless you have a project in the $4,000 plus bracket don't waste your time calling this company.

Went well & on time. As stated above all our expectations were met Ina timely manner.

What impressed me the most was the team of workers that came when they said they would, worked all day and with amazing teamwork. They each knew what their job was and they did it with a sense of pride. They really cared that I was happy with everything. I was out in the yard with them often, because that is how I am, and enjoyed them being there. Each team had a lead man and we communicated all the time. When I wanted to leave the house as they worked, "no problem" I would come back to find the beautiful work they had done and always cleaned up after themselves. I can't say enough about the men that worked on my project, there was never a cross word heard between them, they communicated often with Michael Cole the owner and Steve Long the project manager who stopped by to check on the progress often. It felt like a big family, I loved this part, I kind of miss all of them. Their work ethics are a shade above excellent.

This company may do good work, but they sent out an obnoxious sales associate who was looking to do things other than what we wanted to our yard and was critical of how things were done in our yard. We are DIY people normally, but wanted some possible concrete work done so we called this comapny in for an estimate and got a guy who has the people skills of a parking meter. The real joke was the estimate at the end that came a week or two later with no professional follow-up.

It didn't go well because they never responded to me.

My experience was first-rate. Right from the beginning the owner was hands-on. He worked closely with me and the designer to ensure that I received the type of landscaping plan I wanted at a price I could afford. He understood that I needed to implement my full plan over a couple of year period, and that I could only just begin the work this first year. After the design plan was completed the owner worked closely with me finalizing the work on-site at my home. The owner was always concerned to be sure I was receiving what I wanted based on his clear and helpful suggestions. When the work actually started a very good supervisor was assigned and spent his time on-site with the work team to again consult with me about any last minute details and slight changes that I desired. He closely supervised the work and ensured the highest possible quality. Following the conclusion of the work the owner called me to debrief and review my satisfaction and the overall performance of his team. All along the way there was the personal touch. Even though I had a relatively small job for this year, I was treated as if I was the most important client they had. What a distinct pleasure it was to work with the Lavish Gardens team, and I look forward to working with them in the future.

Ken came up with a lot of ideas that we really liked and better fit our needs. We wanted more plants and a natural flow to the large yard. Ken?s design included over two hundred plants, several new trees, two fountain areas and a sitting wall. After Ken created everything we wanted, he suggested carving out a potting area next to our shed. This will work out great because we had a potting bench with no place to put it. Overall, we were very happy with Ken?s design that we used for competitive bidding on the actual landscape work. Unfortunately, Lavish Gardens was not the low bidder on the project, but we would certainly recommend Ken for other landscape design projects.

It went very well. There were several points in the process where additional, unforeseen work was required, but in each instance, Mike the onsight landscape contractor, advised us of the situation, gave us his perspective and recommendation and then we made a decision. Our iron gate, separating the driveway from the backyard, was being anchored by a post that was totally rotted out. Mike and his crew assessed the situation, removed the existing gate, and reinforced the anchoring post. There were several points in the removal of the prior elements of the front yard where we wanted to do some modifications, and Ken and Mike worked with us to accomplish what we wanted, especially in the driveway area. Ken was very good about giving us plenty of lead time to get whatever plants and materials we needed, prior to them being needed for planting or setting in place. Mike and his crew spent a lot of time in and around our front yard and side yard, and they were especially sensitive to our neighbors and to any inconvenience that their work might cause. Simply put, Ken Tatarka and Mike Dewyea were the best contractors we could have hoped for and the results speak for themselves. We are very happy with the process and the end product. We love our new front yard and driveway!!

The owner contacted me pretty much immediately and after a few days of telephone confusion, assigned me to Anthony, his landscape architect. I worried that the plans would be too cookie cutter but after putting together some mood boards so he could really get a sense of my aesthetic, he had first drafts back to me pretty quickly. It took us about a month and half to finish because I threw him some changes. Anthony was always on time, totally professional and wonderful to deal with. We were actually sorry to see him go once we were done.
