Very good, very punctual, and easy to work with. We live in an older, ranch-style house with fixtures from 1935. Specifications change and metals get old, but they were able to work with them.

I'm really not sure of the date they worked for us or how much the bill was. It was quite a while ago and they were inexpensive. But we felt we were paying for high quality workmanship. They did a great job. I felt the plumber really knew what he was doing -- very professional. They came when they said they would. We were very please and wanted to have them do more work for us. It's strange that they just stopped returning our calls or answering our emails. Not sure why.

The work was good. It was fixed quickly. The workers were good. They were very prompt. I would recommend them to a friend. I have used them twice.

He was very honest with me. We've been using him for awhile. He was not able to fix it but helped me purchase a new one in the best possible way.

Response was speedy and professional. A plumber was on-site on the first day I called them and they were doing work that afternoon. The damage was much more severe then expected and the job became an involved, multi-day affair. My assigned plumber Jeff was pleasant on the phone and very communicative. About halfway through the job Tonkins rough treatment of the line cracked it in a completely different place, which caused a big problem when the tenant (who thought it was safe to continue using the line) drained the sink and flooded the sink cabinet after Tonkins' personnel had gone home for the day. This was a big mess to clean up and I had to spend several hours fixing the pipe myself. When I talked to Tonkins about this I was basically blown off and told it was "old pipes". Old pipes don't spontaneously have their slip-washers torn off or 5 inch cracks appear at their joints, so it was basically Tonkins refusing to take responsibility for it or acknowledge their carelessness in any meaningful way. After the job was over I found that Tonkins had not cleaned up the work site - they had not filled a hole that they had dug, they had not strapped the pipe, and worst of all they had dumped some cement on my property and left it there. So I had to fix and clean up all this myself. When I called them up I made it clear that I was not happy with the end result, I was told that I should have called them instead of cleaning it up myself and should not have closed up the wall but instead have called them to strap the pipe. It's not realistic to leave a 2' x 1' hole in the wall leading directly into my tenant's living space in a summer heat wave when it's over 100 degrees outside during the day. I told them I wanted a hundred bucks off my bill for my trouble (less than 5% of the total invoice) and that I would feel tremendously better if I was compensated for my time in that way (and I would - I would take their grade from a D to a B). I was told that Jeff would speak to a supervisor about it. Half an hour later, I got billed the full amount on my credit card. Ok. I guess that's not going to happen, then. I felt that Tonkins had a lot of resources and weren't flaky about showing up (which is a legitimate problem with a lot of plumbers) but were careless and inconsistent in their work.

Called Phil he said someone would come out the next day. they did and fixed it in a hour or so. It is still working

The service provider failed to respond to a message that I left, and this resulted in an extra day without hot water. It is now two days later, and I have still not received a call from them. The work was completed by another local plumber that I found on Angies's List.

He came on time and fixed what needed to be fixed.

It went great! They work very quickly but did an excellent job. They were exceptionally clean. I was very,very happy with the work done. I feel I received an excellent value for the money spent. I would call them again. Jeff and his buddy were great!

They always do their best to get someone out quickly, and they get stuff done in a timely manner. They are very professional and they treat myself and others in our neighborhood very well. They are also honest about their scheduling and they won't tell you they are going to send someone out if they are too booked up for the day. We will definitely continue to use them.

THEY ALWAYS FIX WHATEVER NEEDS FIXING. THEY ARE ALWAYS COURTEOUS AND PROFESSIONAL WHEN THEY COME TO MY HOME TO DO PLUMBING, LIKE WHEN THEY CAME TO FIX THE DRAIN.
