Not well. Scott D. was the technician. Could have put in a new heater for less per quote from Lowes. Expected better advice from a professional.
Description of Work: Tenant complained that wall heater was coming on by itself, so RKM was scheduled for a repair. 11/14/16 - per their report, "Replace standing pilot Single Stage Gas Valve. New Gas valve with removal of existing. Installed new valve and wired in with gas adjusted and calibrated for proper gas pressures and safety settings. Testing for proper functioning and safety gas leak testing." This cost $663.02, more than the cost of a new wall heater. 12/5/16 -Tenant called to complain that heater still not working properly. Service report states "showed up to do diagnostics on wall heater tested new valve by jumping at valve and heater lites up .jumped at stat heater does not lite .checked continuity of wire found wire must be broken in wall due to possibly mice. need to run new wire but can not get to same location. Will need to move stat to side of wall heater." This cost an additional $161.50. When questioned about how close the thermostat was relocated to the heater, RKM stated that this location adjacent to the heater was fine. Contacted Lloyds pest control, which inspected and set multiple rodent traps, but caught no mice. (Personal note: tenants are neat and clean). 12/9/16 - Tenant called to complain that they smelled gas. Gas company confirmed gas leak and turned off all gas to tenant. Contacted RKM and scheduled repair. Per their report, "showed up to check on gas leak turned on gas put bubbles on all fittings could not find a leak .started putting bubbles on gas valve found leaking at pilot adjustment screw from factory .tightened screw stopped leak tested .found no other leaks .heater is running at this time ."

We're very sorry to hear that you had a bad experience." Is see that that we had checked your unit and called to confirmed replacement of gas valve and price before beginning repair. After repair was complete and unit tested tenant had left. While on site we called to to collect payment and you had decided not to do the repair after it was completed. . We did return a week later as you had stated that the unit was not working and we had found that the original wiring in the attic to be shorted and looks as something may have chewed through wiring in attic. Furnace is located down in living space. We confirmed price and repairs prior to to doing the work. I see that we went out to fix a gas leak and was warrantied and no charge, I understand the frustration and this is why we show complete diagnostics and confirm repairs and price before beginning any work. We offered to remove the part and refund the money at the time but it was decided you would like to keep the repair as there would be no heat if we remove the part as repair would no longer be done and tenant was not reachable as they had left. Again Im sorry your experience was no as expected and if there something more we can do please contact us. Robert K

Quoted $825.78 to replace Inducer Motor Assembly and Wheel (OEM) removal and replace. Bought parts online for $60.00 and fixed myself in forty-five minutes.

I apologize that you feel the cost was not Fair. I personally looked into your account and see that the technician quoted you for an OEM replacement form the manufacture directly. I personally called over to get pricing and the cost is significantly high that what you purchased online. Please keep in mind this is not an AFTERMARKET part but is the ORIGINAL manufacture part and is backed by up to a 3 year labor and part warranty. I do understand the time but please keep in mind our technician would have to go to the Manufacture parts house in Brea California and pick the part up, drive back to your property install the part run and further test for safety. This does add hours to job. We do not personally buy parts from internet vendors as they are not backed up and heating components can be very dangerous if its not an exact fit. We would love to have everyone business but are not willing to risk any ones safety or warranty issues over cost. Im happy to here that you were able to get it fixed and up and running yourself and wish you luck that there are no further issues with the system.

They were on time, I was really impressed. They even emailed me to confirm the appointment, and let me know the exact technician that was coming. The guy that came out was very nice, and took his time. He was able to let me know exactly what needed to be fixed.

The tech was very knowledgeable and pointed out a few things that weren't up to code. I was quoted a price in writing for those items. I was emailed a report and invoice for the work done. The filter that was installed was a higher quality than the one it replaced.

The technician was excellent! We bought a new dryer and it was not drying efficiently enough so we figured it was a clogged vent/duct. He provided and thorough and honest assessment while cleaning the duct from years of build up. He was on time and communicative the whole time. He also provided me a quote on a full overhaul of our AC system but wasn't pushy about it. Definitely will consider them for future services. Thank you.

Purchased a new LG dryer with a vent sensor, which told me there was an 80% blockage in my vent. I reached out to RKM and had them come out to clean it. They showed up on time and the tech got right to work. He cleaned out the vent and we ran the test on my dryer again, which still said there was a blockage. He had me remove the vent from the dryer and run the test again, and this time there was no blockage. He said this shows the blockage is probably at the roof vent. Although they didn't "fix" the problem, he was helpful and did the job I requested! Would definitely hire them again.

My AC was not cooling. The tech verified the cause of the problem, diagnosed the whole system & identified the cause. He gave me a choice of how we are going to proceed with the repair should I want him to do it. He replaced the failing capacitor & my AC worked. He ran another diagnostics to verify the whole system is working. before wrapping things up. Excellent job.

I have used RKM twice. Once at my house and once at my in-law's house. Peter was the service technician both times. He was thorough and professional. In addition to cleaning the HVAC unit, he went over the diagnostic test results and explained them completely. I have only one minor complaint. They're supposed to email you the diagnostic results for your records. Both times I had to call and request they be sent as I did not receive the email as promised. So, I'd say there's a little problem somewhere is their process.
