Strike One, the quickly part. After signing the contract, they did have someone out within the next few days to prep the cabinets and take the doors off (on 8/12). But after that they disappeared for almost two weeks. I had to send several emails before finally getting a response they'd be ready on 8/25. My kitchen sat idle for almost two weeks when Eric initially told us he could be in and out within a week. I gave them a deadline of 8/27, and I feel like if I didn't have to beg them to get back out here and finish up, they never would have.
Strike Two, the destruction of my kitchen floors. During the removal of our appliances, Eric's workers noticed a big hole in our wall behind our fridge. They inquired what happened and I told them the hose for the kitchen water hookup is leaky. I also showed them the hose was taped to the back of the fridge, and it should remain that way. To our surprise, days after the job was completed we noticed our wood floors were cold to the touch and in certain area's noticed water was coming through. Despite being told not to reconnect the hose, the workers still did. I politely brought this up to Eric to see if we can come to a resolution. He acknowledged that his workers confessed to being told not to but kept coming up with every excuse in the book as to why it wasn't his companies fault, even going as ridiculous as saying "its standard practice" as if that made any sense. He ultimately lived up to the reputation his workers vented about while at our house as being a hot headed selfish unprofessional person. Our floors ended up having to be completely removed because the damage was unrepairable.
Strike Three, two years later the finish is cracking. When Eric presented us with his refinishing product he went on and on about how durable his product is. Yet we're two years into his work and if someone even brushes up against our cabinets it will leave a scratch. Even worse we are noticing in some places the finish is starting to crack, almost like a dried up riverbed, we're seeing these lines (almost vein like) showing up where the old color is starting to show through.
Overall, terrible work done by Diamond Cabinet Refacing Inc. This company did a number on my Kitchen that I am still working to fix completely. I am happy to have new floors in now, but with each scratch and now veining of my refinished cabinets, I am often reminded of the shooty worksmanship and horrible ownership of Diamond Cabinet Refacing Inc
The finished product is nice, but there was absolutely no project oversight from the owner/manager. We had to call several times to make sure our project was on track and several times it seemed like they didn't even know what was going on. The tile installers were not qualified and we had them remove the backsplash time. The project was not completed in the time they promised, but they did try to finish it by working 12 hours on the day before thanksgiving.
Overall, I would not recommend this company.
"The granite is fine! it's granite and she wanted to know why there was a line spot in the counter top, she should have picked a different top if she didn't like granite. also to make her Happy we waived her final balance due. Sometimes you just can't make anyone happy. But customers should do research before posting negative comments. and next time we won't be waiving any money just to make someone happy as that doesn't work as well, and that's our lesson."
I've updated this review because it's about 6 months later and our kitchen is now finished. The two largest cabinet doors in the kitchen had to be sent back for the color to be redone about 5 times. The match is still not perfect; the clearcoat is a bit glossier than the rest of the doors but at least the color is right this time. I suppose we could have sent them back another time, but we wanted to be done with it by this point.
In the company's defense, they were very nice about trying to get the doors right and made every attempt to make us happy. I had to take the review down a bit from the enthusiastic "A" I originally gave them, but my overall experience with this company was positive, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.
"Thank you so much customer for the review, we are glad you like are work and if you ever need anything at all just let us know. President, Eric"
Diamond first sent a guy to remove all the drawers & doors, and to spray paint the interiors. The next day a crew removed the cabinet facings and replaced some of the shelves with drawers. By the end of the week they were finished, save a missing drawer front and some drawer slides. I've received many compliments on the appearance of my new cabinets.
My only compaint was with the time it took to get the project underway. I got the estimate in April, signed the contract May 1, and had the measuring done 2 days later. After 2 reschedulings, the work started June 25. It was mostly done in a week, but a workman had to come back to do a little touch-up work on July 12.
"Thank you so much customer for the review, we are glad you like are work and if you ever need anything at all just let us know. the kitchen looks awesome, nice pictures President, Eric"
