MONA MAID

Description of Work: We met with Mona Maids owner and he explained that they clean ceiling to floor, just like they would clean their own home. He repeated this over and over. He pointed out things they clean in our house and I asked about mirrors, baseboards, etc. and he confirmed they clean those too. Their first cleaning was $275 because it was going to be "ceiling to floor" and VERY thorough. I had about 30 things they missed, plus when they cleaned our extra bathroom, the faucet wouldn't turn off and was running a very heavy stream, but they didn't tell us and just left it that way. I didn't even know it until mid-day the next day. I contacted them and they weren't apologetic and I had to pay $300 in plumbing charges. The plumbing wasn't their fault-it just broke at that time-but they didn't bother telling us they couldn't turn water off. I told them we no longer needed their service but he kept on and on asking for another chance and had me leave list of what was missed in first cleaning. Their second cleaning they arrived 2-3 hours after they said they would and were here 2 hours later than initially agreed upon; but that cleaning was very good! He did say "now that he knows what we expect..." and I felt like he was being a bit condescending like I'm a really picky, bossy person :( and that made me uncomfortable. Two more cleanings were very insufficient and at $120 a pop--just not worth it. Our home is not very dirty at all, so for the items/rooms that need to be cleaned, I expected them to be clean and they were not. We let them go after about 4 cleanings. I do have a new housekeeping service that charges $90 per cleaning and the house is absolutely spotless. I couldn't be happier! I do not want to say anything bad about Mona Maids, I see their vehicles in the neighborhood and they've been in business for years, so I'm sure they do good work in other homes. They just didn't work for us.
