I hired Milton because he listens well, explained his fees very clearly, had very reasonable rates, and -- although he hadn't worked on a project in Albany -- did research beforehand and demonstrated his understanding of the City's requirements and planning and design review and approval processes. I found Milton to be professional, organized, and efficient with his time. He is very client-oriented and focused on providing a good product. He was easy to work with and respectful of my ideas. Milton’s strengths include listening to clients’ input and incorporating it into the overall design, space utilization and planning, code compliance issues, and guiding clients through the various City approval processes. I am very pleased with my home addition. It feels like a natural extension of our existing house and has good flow and lighting. I would definitely recommend Milton for your architectural project!
Description of Work: I worked with Milton Tong of Tong Architecture in 2009-2010 to design my home addition project, which included preparing a set of plans and specifications and guiding me through the City of Albany’s planning and design review process. He guided the entire planning and design process, including schematic design, design development, and construction document plan sets. The design included a minimum of 50 "Green Points" as required by the City of Albany for sustainable design. This planning and design process included obtaining planning approval from the City of Albany, including a presentation at a public hearing, and responding to City comments during the design review stage.
