Description of Work: Pipe Arts did a great job swapping out my old toilet for a dual flush toilet. I'd highly recommend them. They were in and out in about 1 hr and were professional and helpful.

They were excellent. They did a very clean job. They did not overcharge. He was very honest about piece by piece and good at explaining, so I felt comfortable. Otherwise, I don’t know about plumbing, but he explained work by work, so I liked that about them. I would rate them highly. I will use them again in the future.

This was my second time using their services. Edgar is fantastic. I have to say that I would not use anyone else for plumbing services. He does everything that he says he is going to do. He is professional, fast, knows what he is doing, and does everything right. He is the best plumber around.

I got a bunch of different quotes for the job but I chose Pipe Arts Plumbing for the work. Edger Mayer, the plumber and owner, was really good. He was not the least expensive or most expensive of the quotes I received. What was impressive about him was that he came right away to give the quote. He gave full information. The thing that was really important for me was that he told me what I absolutely had to do, how much that would cost and suggested a number of other things. He didn’t try to push me into doing the unquoted extra work. It was things that would have been advisable if I had the money but I didn’t. That was really great. After he installed the hot water heater, he also did some extra things for me for no extra money. He did a quick fix on a leak that I had.
Description of Work: I used Pipe Arts Plumbing in September to get a new hot water heater installed.

We bought an old home that the previous owner had done some not-so-good work on, in addition to various pipes just being old, corroding and leaking. Edgar was very responsive via phone, text & email (including taking calls and sending pictures while working under the house). He also had no problem re-working his bids when we decided to add a tankless water heater. He also was great at creating diagrams & plans for the City inspectors. Always on time. And best of all he cleaned up after himself and his crew so well that he ruined it for all subsequent contractors, who we judged to his standards. Every other contractor who has worked on the house has left it dirtier than when they arrived. Edgar actually cleaned up an old stained sink that wasn't even an item on his to-do list. AWESOME! His hourly rate was among the highest of the people we solicited, but he's TOTALLY worth it. He's fast yet thorough, does completely solid code-copmliant work, and pays attention to the aesthetics of his work.
Description of Work: Lots of this required going into & behind the walls, and a lot of under-house crawl space work: bathtub drain assembly, gaskets & p-trap replacement toilet reinstaall shower valve leak into crawl space kitchen faucet correct dishwasher drain configuration & airgap laundry room washer trap and stand pipe upgraded main house waste lines corroded, replaced 70 feet horizontal run to sewer line, plus 6 feet in another location remove root clog and replace 4" cast iron main sewer serving toilet removing and capping abandoned lines in crawl space and basement gas piping pressure tests, correction of leaks, insulation and fittings installation of new tankless water heater including vents and gas hook-up

Edgar did an excellent job. He was very professional, showed up on time, returned phone calls right away, communicated well, and most importantly, he was honest and cared about the work he was doing. He made sure the job was done right and that you were happy with everything before he left. The Berkeley inspector also said he did a great job and that his work was 'top notch!" The new plumbing is working great, I'm very happy with the work that Edgar did in my home and I won't be calling anyone else should I need plumbing work in the future! I highly recommend Edgar at Pipe Arts Plumbing.
Description of Work: Replaced numerous old galvanized water pipes with new copper pipes in basement and up to second story bathroom in 1905 home. Installed new main gas line from the meter, new lines to gas dryer and stove and installed new hot water heater.

This is the 3rd time that Edgar has done plumbing work at the house in the past 3 years, so we now trust him. Arrived on time, installed the dispenser and heater in 15 minutes, and cleaned up so it appeared he was never there. Edgar is very pleasant.

Both projects went well. The first (cook top gas line extension) was actually a piece of cake for any qualified plumber. He installed an extra elbow where he didn't need to, but his work was solid. He had estimated prior then arrived with all the necessary materials. The second project (extend another gas line and connect ABS waste) took one full day, separated by a lunch break. He's never heard of a recessed box gas outlet, so his wall termination was a simple plug on pipe. I later bought the recessed box from on line and connected it myself. Also, his explanation that doing the ABS waste while he's there to save me money is standard bullshit. He had to go to Home Depot to get the parts anyway, then charged me all that time getting stuck in the checkout line! Once back on the job though, his work was top-notch.
Description of Work: Edgar and his assistant completed two separate projects a few weeks apart: 1) Extend gas line to a cook top and, 2) Extend gas line to a future dryer, and connect ABS waste lines to existing cast iron lateral with appropriate testing. As a handy DIY homeowner, I had both projects well planned and prepared. I had predrilled holes for the pipes, planned the routing, lined the underfloor crawlspace, lighted all dark areas, calculated the gas pipe sizes and pulled the permits. He even described one project as "giving it to him on a spoon."
