Advanced Home Energy sent three teams to do the jobs and the first two teams were very professional and very nice, but not for the last team. They messed with the breakers, they were very noisy and I was trying to teach classes. I was so frustrated with the last team. It was terrible. I won't use them again because of the last team that came.

They were great. They just couldn't do the Big Deal on a condo and did not make that clear at the outset when I signed up. They promptly called to tell me, because they'd already googled my residence and saw it was a condo. They were apologetic and very helpful, and had a guy come out a few days later just to give my place a quick (and free) look to see what they might be able to do for me.

The inspector gave a quote for solving the issues. I found the quote to be very high and decided to not do take the services.

The project went very well and met all of my expectations. See details in my comments above.

The staff at Advanced Home Energy were professional in every way. They respected my schedule, worked without disruping my life, did a meticulous job, and cleaned up after themselves every day. They were a congenial bunch. Very thorough. I have zero complaints about this company. It's all good.

Two people who were both very professional and thorough really gave the place a top to bottom inspection and provided helpful information.

I am very disappointed in that this "service" was merely a sales tactic for solar service and home repair. My house was brought down to the studs in 2007 and remodeled so I know everything from electrical, plumbing, flooring, wndows etc are brand new, I was concerned that my electrical bills are high eventhough I never use the heat or air. and with the new energy-saving appliances I should be running very low electrical. Anyway, I told them that I have 2 main concerns: 1) is my front door which is more beautiful than weather/air-tight and 2) I am pretty sure there is a vent that is not connected, just blows the A/C and heat underneath the house. Neither issue was addressed. The rep could not fit underneath the house to reach the vent in question. Although she said there are people in her company who can fit, it wasn't going to happen with her. The sealed my front door to do the blow test, so obviously the results could not be right. To make a long story short, I have a 2-inch gap underneath my front door and my tiled entryway and hallway (raised floor) are not insulated but their results showed my house is using "normal' amounts of energy (according to PGE I am well over 125% above the average comparable house) and the report suggested that my house is air-tight. The two inch gap and I beg to differ. It is just a sales ploy and I am not so much upset about the wasted money than I am wasting hours of my time which I will never be able to get back.

1. Made a appointment. 2. Two people showed up at the right time of appointment. 3. Brought in there equipment of blower, ladder, laser measure etc, 4. Measured the whole home. 5. Did a blower test on the home. 6. Checked gas connections to furnace and water heater. (They warned me that if they find anything wrong they will have to involve PG&E our utilities provider and our gas connection can g shutdown until we fix the problem, I took the risk and fortunately everything was ok) 7. Checked furnace and water heater, everything was ok. Major disappointment was: The main reason for the audit was to check the air conditioning and furnace duct system but they had to skip it because they found that the ducts had asbestos couplers near the vents and testing the ducts might have caused asbestos to spread in the home. So they skipped the major part. Not sure if I should have asked for a refund. They could have checked with me on the phone before they came or they could have mentioned it in the guidelines about the asbestos materials. They checked insulation in the attic. Send me a report on the whole thing.

The work was never done due to my busy schedule I had to cancel twice. They also cancelled me once or twice. I would try them again they were good in rescheduling and their other reviews were good._x000D_|I have asked for a refund and they advised it had to come through you. I expect no problems unlike Mr. Fixit who committed several times to refund my money but refused to do so or contact me. I requested Angie to change my record with Mr. Fixit to the lowest level and no I would rather have a lobotomy than use them or recommend them to anyone I liked._x000D_|Thank you,_x000D_|Jack Marks

It been a good experience. There were some delays with the work but everything worked out in the end. They are very professional. They do good work.

Never saw the "project manager"; job site "managed" by different people every day. NO QUALITY CHECK on work performed by prime or sub. Equipment problems every day. POOR Cleanup. Met requirements for CA energy program rebate.

Went ok, but did go into my kitchen cabinets to get a glass for water without asking. I felt this was very rude and invasive of my home. I was told I would have my report that evening or by the next day, but didn't get until 5 days later (Nov. 11). I have one follow-up phone call and nothing since.

I purchased a deal on Angie's List, and it was a bad idea. They were very prompt at showing up to my house and doing the work for the audit, but they were unresponsive in getting me the actual report. I contacted them multiple times over the following 2 months, and I finally got the report 2 months later (after I had given up and started working with another firm). I am very disappointed in the quality of this company and wish I could get my money back.

I was a little disappointed because I thought they were just going to do an energy assessment but they wanted to sell all their products. I thought that they were independent testing company. They were extremely expensive in all their estimates. There were no additional costs. The energy audit they did went really well.

AHE performed an energy audit prior to submitting a bid for the work. The audit was fine but it took almost a month and repeated emails to the company to get the report and a bid with options as to the type and cost of work. One of the options included work that I told them I didn't want done this year (insulation replacement) and was more than my maximum project budget. The office was apologetic for the delay and agreed to refund my money. AHE's bid, while not the cheapest, seemed to be the most detailed. The other contractors just threw together a few numbers without clearly describing the work that would be performed. The construction manager came out to scope out the project details. The job was performed right and the guy doing the day-to-day work kept me informed as to the project status each day. The work took a day longer than expected because they don't work on Fridays (not communicated to me during the planning phase) but it didn't cause any real problems. AHE sent out an inspector to coordinate the inspection with the City of Berkeley and conduct a post-job energy audit (for tax credit purposes). Again, scheduling was an issue as I was told it would be done the week after the end of the job, but they couldn't get anyone out until 3 weeks after the end of the job. Not a big deal but yet another miscommunication. AHE does quality work but they seem to have some back office problems with communication and scheduling. You have to keep on top of them to ensure the non-construction parts of the project get done timely.

Too much emailing between the service provider. too much work to get reimbursed.

The service was pretty good. They're thorough and efficient. It's the first time I've seen the report but it looks very thorough. They follow up pretty regularly to see whether we want to follow up with some projects. I highly recommend it for somebody like us, meaning having to own the home for the first time and not knowing the overall energy structure. It was a great overview to be seen.

They checked every space in the house along with heater, fan, hot water heater, ducts, insulation, air flow, attic and crawl space, Extremely profession and communicative

It was good. I was not here but my partner was here when they did it.

They were very communicative, professional and accommodating throughout the entire process until the end. They have been friendly and personable, even willing to accommodate a credit card payment for me when my financing unexpectedly fell through at the last minute. I don't know what I would have done without that help. My only reservation in giving an A is that they have been slow to repair a piece of furniture which got scratched while being moved for construction. It's been almost a month now. There was one slight incident with my alarm system that was their fault: the alarm went off, the previous workers had the code and operated it smoothly, but somehow this message did not get to the other worker the next day. They followed up and called me immediately and all was taken care of, so I'm willing to understand that they are coordinating a lot of people and were extremely responsive and responsible in taking action once the incident occurred. I would definitely hire them again.

They were very professional and knowledgable, and not pushy in terms of follow on work. We appreciated that!

They did a pretty good job, but I feel like they missed a few things.

They did a superb job, and although having this much work done (registers in every room) was of course disruptive, the crews were punctual, always polite, cleaned up after themselves every day, and were generally extremely pleasant to have around. When the inevitable damages occurred (a broken floor tile, nicks in walls), the project coordinator sent a highly skilled repair person who fixed the problems by the next day to the point where we couldn't even tell which tile had been broken. There were no unexpected charges and from beginning to end the job was handled with professionalism.

We are probably going with them. I know the owner of the company. I have worked with him in another firm but not doing the actual work. In other words, he was sub-contracted. He came back to us on the same day that we called. We called another company for the insulation of the sub-floor because the owner of Advanced Home Energy was very upfront and he said, "We can do the energy efficiency upgrades but it might be more cost effective for you if you have the sub-floor done by another contractor." He was prompt, very efficient and extremely knowledgeable. He has a tremendous depth of knowledge on a breadth of areas including home performance, insulation and so forth. It was of course a pleasure working with him. He was very optimistic, very positive and also very logical in his approach. If I mention that I was on a budget, he was very helpful in that respect as well.
