The work was good, but when I called him some times he did not call back.

Luis and his team did a truly awesome job. He clearly has the knowledge, expertise and ability to perform, making it look easier than it is. importantly, Luis owns heavy equipment needed for big jobs like this. He did the whole thing inside of a week, and the results are beautiful. Price is very reasonable too, as a competing bid I received was exponentially higher. It was impressive to me that he was willing to do the work without a formal design plan. I had the landscape envisioned in my mind; I relayed my ideas to him and he knew what I wanted and just did it, on the fly. I appreciated his flexibility and willingness to work with me that way. He's a nice guy and very easy to deal with it. I now have the yard everybody's envious of, and I have repeatedly recommended him to all passers-by in the neighborhood. I honestly couldn't be happier with the job. And believe me, if you've seen some of my other reviews on Angie's List, then you already know that is a very high standard to live up to. Bottom line is Luis is now my go-to guy for landscape services.

Could not hire becuase I could not leave a message for a callback

He is our regular gardener. The experience has been excellent and very good. I had really bad experience with the last couple of gardeners I used. Luis Ruvalcaba is real good. I had the tree trimmed and I needed extra work done so he responded quickly because I am his customer. The first time I called him, he came out and gave me an estimate on the same day. I found him on Angie’s List. The price depends on the size of the yard and it was additional for tree trimming. I think the price was fair. He was not the cheapest but his quality was better. I never had a week where he didn’t show up. I have been using him since July. He comes every Monday on a weekly basis.

We have Luis to do our big front yard landscaping project in the middle of Dec 2012. The work included the 1000+ sqft new lawn, fixation & partially re-piping of sprinkler system, tree service and paving/fencing on the side yard. Luis is very honest to his customers and shows a profound knowledge on the related project. After we agreed with his suggestions and proposal, he and his pals did exactly what he proposed in a neat and professional way. When the project was finished in the scheduled days, they also cleaned the ground, driveway in great details and taught us patiently on how to manipulate the sprinkler timer and how to take care of lawn, roses & trees. We are very satisfied with his work and are feeling happy about our beautiful front yard now. Thanks, Luis!

Went great. I had three plumbers and a landscaper give me incorrect advice on a flooding issue. Luis took the time to figure out the problem and correct it. He drilled a hole through a block wall to let the water drain. The otlher professionals wanted to change the slope of the hill which may not have worked and was expensive.He is honest and professional. Don't waste your time calling someone else. ,

Mr. Caba was very responsive. He returned my voice mail promptly and showed up at the agreed time for an estimate. His crew arrived when promised and my yard looks wonderful. My last lawn service had flaked on me and my yard was in terrible shape

Very quick service, professional knowledge of sprinkler repair. We had a broken pipe leading to our sprinkler system producing puddlies all over our back yard. Luis came, saw the problem and returned several days and solved the problem with a very inexpensive estimate.

Great experience - team was very professional, worked very quickly, we are extremely happy with the results. The work was clean, and Luis had some great suggestions on how to improve drainage in our front yard - we have had a lot of concerns over water ending up under the house in the crawlspace due to poor landscaping decisions made by prior owner.

Excellent attention to detail, quality work assured. Luis runs a tight ship. He has a crew of 3-4 guys (maybe more?) that worked on a regular time table every day until the job was done. Unlike many contractors who send out the knowledgeable guy who gives a bid, but is never seen again, Luis was there working with his crew every day. Our old lawn was improperly sprinklerized, had lots of gopher damage and surface roots, had many bare spots, and parts of it turned into a lake in the rain: it was time for a redo. I'm pretty home improvement savvy and had a specific list of items I wanted done. Luis showed up for his appointment on time, gave me a bid, and I hired him on the spot. (The other contractors hadn't even called back yet.) Luis and his crew removed the old grass with a sod cutter and hauled it away. They installed a new sprinkler system, lawn drains, a sump pit & pump, and routed the output to the front of the house. They also brought in 20 yards of dirt to level and properly grade the yard. The soil was rototilled in and then rolled. After all was done, Luis was unhappy with the performance of the sprinklers: they seemed quite anemic. I agreed and he added in a new 1" water line to feed the sprinkler valve bank: now all is good. This bit of extra performance, where a contractor notices something that isn't up to snuff, was excellent and rare. All told, the job took about a week and ran me about $1500 more than the original quote. This additional money was due to added work (double the soil, pull/haul plants, run a water line) and well worth it. I'd hire Luis again in a heartbeat.

He is a great guy and all the work he does is wonderful. His crew is great as well, very spot on, and addresses any problems you have.

I called Mr. Ruvalcaba on a Wednesday and left a detailed message. I didn't hear back. I called again on that Friday and he said he was busy and maybe next week. I decided to contact someone else.

It went very well. They arrived close to the exact time they were scheduled and were ready to go right to workk. I would definitely use them again.

Luis was the BEST to work with. He was always easy to contact and easy to talk to. He clearly knows his stuff when it comes to landscaping. He was able to advise my fiance and I on what would work best with our soil and climate. His team works quickly and efficiently. Because Luis is part of the team performing the work, he knows exactly what was completed and how to handle any issues, if any, that arise. His pricing was competitive and fair for the work completed. His team completed all of this work in the matter of 4 days! All other contractors quoted at least 2 weeks to complete the work. We will absolutely use his services again in the future! In fact, I'm going to give him a call for another quote today.

Luis and his team were very professional and did a great job. They showed up on time when they said they would and worked hard. Luis listened to my requests and made sure that they were taken care of. I highly recommend Luis.

Luis is the only landscaper you'll need. Period. Level-headed and even-tempered. Honest. Reasonably priced. Efficient and professional. Happy to explain his process and listen and respond to all concerns patiently. The kind of man that thinks for his customer instead of his customer thinking for him. Very detail oriented. Long term thinker in set up and execution. He wants to do it right. He wants his customer happy. That's what you want in a contractor. And just a plain nice guy and a pleasure to talk to. Having been a general contractor myself, my first thought was to do it myself. Just hire a bunch of guys and tell them what to do. I'm glad I didn't go that route. I couldn't have been more happy to pay Luis' bill. Honesty, it seemed low to me for all the effort. But he kept to the original estimate and I admire that. Even if I had the necessary knowledge (Luis has 20+ years experience - stuff you can't get off the internet) and hired my own men and rented the necessary machinery... I don't think I could have done it for less. And that's really saying something. When Luis and the Crew were there, they were THERE. Hardworking and professional. Committed to YOUR project. In other words, you never got the feeling you were being given short shrift for another job. Clearly since they just finished the work, there may be a sprinkler head or two that needs replacement down the line... But as for now... I really couldn't be more pleased. In fact, I've already talked to him about coming back in the fall for a sewer line trenching and tree planting project I have planned.

Luis was a bit tough to get a hold of - he's extremely busy - but the work he and his team did was well priced - well done and looks great.

I called Luis for a gardening service quote. He took down my information and never returned my call. Rude!

He sounded professional and nice and then he never got back to me. I will never use him in the future.

I've been using Luis for about 3 years now and have been generally happy with the job he does with regards to basic mow, blow and go that most gardeners do. He has done extra work such as replacing broken sprinkler heads, pipes and things like that for a pretty fair price. He's also planted flowers along my walkway on occasion when I've requested it for (I thought) a premium price. The problem that I have with him currently is that he stopped showing up and only his workers come now. Their command of English is marginal and it's hard to communicate with them. They also don't have the authority to do things that I may request that are extra and have to contact Luis to get approval and pricing. He's not always reachable or responsive when I want something done right away. I've asked him to plant flowers and sod in my garden a couple times now and I haven't heard back from him. It's very frustrating. I've tried many gardeners over the years and I haven't found one that I'm happy with.

Very careful, thoughtful execution of the trim and cleanup. His yard service has been one of the best I have had work on my property.

They come every week, and I pay $70 per month. They do a remarkable job. I found them on Angie's List. I didn't have to tell any of my concerns to the crew when they came out to work, because Luis had already done it. The crew got right to work when they came out. After a week and a half, there was an improvement in the way my lawn looked. I am so happy with them. They adjusted my sprinklers so it's watering my lawn properly. They are the same price as the old company I had, but are by far so much better than the people I had. They are wonderful. I recommended them to a friend. They do a great job. My flowers are blooming better. I forgot what a good lawn looked like until they started coming.

Luis is very polite. He seems knowledgeable and I would have loved for him to perform weekly maintenance on our property. He came out for an estimate-- after missing his first appointment, told me he would follow up. He never did. His voice mailbox is full. Frustrating!

It was an incredible job! Highly recommended! Luis is a very nice, really sharp guy. The whole group was very prompt and professional. The project took two weeks, which was impressive.

He is consistent. He shows up every week. His workers are friendly. I wish he would weed more and be a little more pro-active on the sprinkler maintenance.
