These guys are great. The yard looks great consistently. They come at or around the same time each week. I like also that each worker that I have met so far also speaks English so its easy to communicate with them. They also do a nice job feeding the plants and grass to keep it green

Luis came out to see the job & provide an estimate. A couple of days later he emailed the estimate & said "Includes Materials". I then asked if we could negotiate the price if I picked up the bulk of materials myself to save him that part of the labor. He said he could discount the original quote, & then said I had to pay for all of the materials & told me his original quote was for labor only! which was overpriced & not honest. I really tried to work with him & then he just quit replying when I reminded him about the original quote with materials included. I would not hire him for anything.

He came out for a look and gave us a price but then never came back or returned our phone calls. I would not use him ever again.

I'm going to keep this short. Luis was professional, talented, hardworking and reasonable. Everything aspect of working with Luis was truly great. I would highly recommend working with Luis!

Luis and his workers came exactly when they said they would to clean up. The worked all day ripping out bushes and trimming back dead and overgrown plants, shrubs, grasses, etc. At the end of the day, the landscaping looked tidy again. They did such a great job that we hired them to continue the weekly maintenance on the house. So far they have done a great job and addressed everything I have asked of them. A+

No problems at all.showed up at our house at 7 AM on the dot, did all I asked . No bad attitude and did not waste time .

After working with many contractors over the last year with numerous home improvement projects, there are very few who understand that basic rule. Luis is one of those few. Working with him was an absolute pleasure. Him and his crew were always professional and courteous. They always cleaned after themselves. Both our front and backyard have received numerous compliments from friends and neighbors thanks to Luis and teams great work. Luis is well on his way(if not already there) to become one of the top landscapers in the area. The only couple of things that he can work on to get the extra icing on the cake would be to hire someone to manage his calls and appts since he is so busy. This would help resolve some of the negative reviews complaining about not being on time. Keep making your customers happy Luis. You know that is the secret sauce to becoming a great business which sadly most contractors do not understand.

The rep. (not sure if owner or not) missed the original appointment, but did apologize and came in a timely manner at a second appointment date. It was obvious to me he thought the job not large enough or was too busy to even bother giving the appearance of being interested. He stood in one spot, barely asked any questions. I provided him with a plan, he promised to provide an estimate for the job. As he left, I was certain I would never hear from him again due to his obvious disinterest and I was right. I suggest that you encourage your contractors to indicate the exclusivity of the size of jobs they perform in order to save the time of Angies list clients. Or if too busy, just say so! I have since agreed to have another contractor perform the work which will begin in the next month or so. I will provide a review after that experience. BTW the date above is an approximate date.

LUIS RUVALCABA was very professional and always available by phone when he was not around. His employees always arrived on time and were very courteous and helpful.

Showed up at 8:00 a.m. with his crew of guys, were done by noon. Cleaned everything up and was very careful not to destroy other plants and shrubs. Will Definitely use him for future projects as we have already discussed.

We were concerned at first because we didn't know exactly what time to expect their arrival and when they did arrive, they left only one man to do what we thought was too much for one person. Well, boy were we wrong - on a couple of counts. 1st, the man they left went through the work like a machine!! He was amazing to watch. Then, 2nd, later in the day when the "chipper" arrived, what also arrived was the rest of the crew - they did an amazing job, did more than we even thought they were going to do - and even though the wood "chipper" broke - they still just kept working, working, working. We are SO impressed - and they are going to be providing our regular yard service from now on. The only reason I gave them a "C" for punctuality is just that we were never told what time to expect them and we even had to call to find out whether they were coming at all, since Mr Ruvalcaba had come out to see what we wanted & to give us an estimate. BTW he stayed with the original price, even though he did even more than we thought he was going to do - what a BARGAIN!! And what great work they all did! We HIGHLY recommend these folks!

Had to call twice but he came at end of his day with his workers waiting for him so I think he might have been tired and rushed so he didn't have anything to offer except a new lawn. gave me a verbal price. never heard from him again.

I haven't used Luis yet, but when I am ready to pull the trigger on the deal, I will definitely use Luis.

I called and scheduled an appointment to have our new house landscaped. Luis scheduled a consultation for Saturday morning at 9am. I rearranged my schedule to be here. I waited for four hours and he never arrived or called. Super unprofessional and a complete inconvenience to my day.

I had been looking for someone to come and do a complete overhaul of my front and backyard for a while now and Luis came highly recommended to me by one of my friends. Luis and his team did an amazing job and truly went above and beyond to give us everything that we wanted and even stuff we didn't know we wanted. They are obviously experts and know their business really well, but beyond that, they are incredibly professional, nice, and took the time to help us understand our options and decide how we wanted things designed. There was a lot to do and they were able to get everything done in 3 days and although the grass was just planted, the front and backyard already look amazing and my wife and I couldn't be happier. We have asked Luis to also provide us with monthly service and look forward to working with him in the future. I highly recommend him to anyone looking to have landscaping work done

Luis Ruvalcaba was a pleasure to work with and extremely responsible with good knowledge of plants and irrigation systems and great attention to detail. . Luis came and surveyed the project and provided an estimate on the day arranged. He was easy to contact by phone. On Day 1 Luis arrived at 7am with a crew of 2 and proceeded to remove all of the old plants. We discussed what plants would provide the best anchor for the hillside with deep roots, The area is shady in the afternoon and at one time had been planted with vinca, but African daisies had begun to take over. Luis said vinca would be the best choice so he purchased them for planting Day 2. I also said I wanted a hedge of shrub roses to prevent run-off onto the street. Luis suggested iceberg roses for their constant flowering and hardiness. So he purchased enough rose bushes to create a hedge at the yard's edge next to the street. He began installing the irrigation system while his crew removed plants, and moved dirt that had drifted down the hillside evenly throughout the front yard. Day 2 Luis continued installing the irrigation system, which involved knowledge of both plumbing and electricity. His crew laid down jute to hold the hillside in place and began planting the vinca evenly spaced down the hillside. Day 3 Luis and crew finished planting the rose bush hedge and fine tuned the the irrigation to carefully water the entire hillside and rose hedge. They had to replace some concrete sidewalk that they removed to place the irrigation pipes from the water source into the yard. Everything was done by 1:30.pm. We were so pleased with the work and the cleanup job that we asked Luis if he did weekly gardening and he said his cousin Jose did. We hired them on the spot and Jose is doing a great job!

We hired LR after we experienced some problems with our last gardener. We were able to schedule for every Saturday at 8am and everything was fine for over year. And then they started arriving later and later until one day, they didn't show up until about 5pm. I called a few days afterwards to inquire why and he said he had to move me to 5pm and that someone told me so. No one told me. And 5pm would've been fine, but instead of showing up at 5pm every week, they actually arrived anywhere between 3-6pm. We have dogs in the backyard so we had to sit at home and wait for the gardener to show up. We couldn't plan anything because we weren't sure when they were going to arrive. Not the best way to spend Saturday afternoons. I asked Luis if we could move our service back to Saturday mornings. He said no. I asked about Fridays at 8am. He said no, but he could do 7am. I told him I wouldn't want my neighbors to make a lot of noise at 7 in the morning and I didn't want to be that guy, but he kept insisting it was okay. Finally, I asked if we could make it Tuesday mornings. Again, his answer was no. Time to find another company.

Luis asked me to send him a txt with my address. I had never done that before with any vendor home or at work so I thought that was strange. He said he was really busy and would be able to come out the middle of the next week. I sent my txt that day. Come Wednesday I just happened to grab my phone to txt someone else and there was a txt from Luis asking if he was supposed to be at my house. I said yes, he said he would come by at 6:45 pm. That seemed late since I said at 5 pm. I asked to reschedule, he asked when I said Friday at 5 pm. I never got another txt and to this day haven't heard from him. This was my first experience with Angie's list and I'm not impressed at all!

Luis and his crew essentially cleared my backyard. It is on a slope and had about 25 oleanders which were dead or dying and many large junipers. He removed them all and ground down the stumps. He left the yard very clean. His service was fast and he was very professional. His price was actually the cheapest by far of 3 quotes I got.

My wife and I recently moved into our dream house.Everything was beautifully painted and remodeled but the backyard needed a lot of landscaping work. The backyard was hideous, in fact it was so bad that we were dreading buying the house because we knew we needed to get a lot of work done in order to complete the final look. We even considered other houses that weren?t nearly as perfect as this just because it had a nicer backyard. In the end, we decided to go with this house but we knew we had to hire someone that would do the right job and luckily for us we found ??. Before contacting luis my wife and I spend days calling and emailing a bunch of people. A lot of people came to give us an in home estimate. Some said it wasn?t possible to get the job done without certain machinery which would cost much more than we sought out to see. Others said it wasn?t possible to get it done within a month and we really needed it done in a month or less. The following month was our daughter?s graduation and we had promised we would have an fter grad party at our house. The backyard was perfect but we weren?t going to invite any guests over without fixing it up. Finally there was a tie between luis and another company. We decided to go with this wonderful company due to a few reasons. His pricing was accurate and well in our budget. He seemed like he knew exactly what he was doing and guaranteed that it would be done in a couple weeks. Although he wanted a little more than the other company that he was in a tie with, we decided to just go with it and I am glad we did. For 3 weeks- almost every other day the men worked hard to complete the project. They listened to everything we had to say and didn?t give us an attitude when we suddenly felt something needed a bit more adjusting or any changes. After 3.5 weeks it was complete. Our backyard looked beautiful. These men were hard-working and did not stop until their time was done during the day. I am so glad we hired them and I truly do recommend them to everyone out there. Trust me whether you have a humungous backyard, a few tiny bushes or just some grass cutting. These are your people. Thanks a lot for the great work.
