All went well. Alex arrived on the front end of the estimated time, was very pleasant. We selected an energy efficient model that he went to the warehouse and got. Total time, including warehouse, just under 4 hours. From a cold shower in the morning, to great hot water now, all via a pleasant process. Also have to note that the dispatch and after-hours folks were super professional and helpful too. Price was a bit higher than the other quotes, but I think worth what we got.

My old water heater stopped working while we were away for the holidays. It looked pretty badly rusted when I inspected it. Called Water Heaters only and they were available to come and install a new one the same day (though within a 4 hour window). I was asking about energy efficient units and was told that they will try to fit such a unit and bring a regular just in case. I have an outside cabinet for the hot water boiler, so there was no need to do a super clean installation. Installer came at the end of the appointment window and did a nice job. Even dried up the water that was leaking out of the old unit. Everything went smooth. Only issue I have is that invoice was not itemized in terms of installation and price for heater and other materials. So far heater is working fine. City inspection still to occur.

WHO was a bit more expensive than others but not by much. Given the immediate response, the professional and courteous service and the amazing lack of hassle, I am happy to report I got what I paid for. I didn't have to sit around all day, wait for parts, have my water turned off for hours, etc. If you are not a do-it-yourselfer and you want a new water heater fast, these are the guys to call!

He was only 15 min. later than the end of the 4 hour window they gave us for his arrival, and when I called, they could tell me where he was and when he would be here. We were very pleased, mostly because he confirmed our suspicion that there was a serious problem with the heater. We were amazed that he did not need to return, he took care of the whole job in 3 hours. He was knowledgeable (knew the city codes), professional, and very amiable. The job was well done, he cleaned up everything and removed the old heater. The cost was comparable to our first estimate and he gladly took the Angie's List discount coupon.

Overall, we were very satisfied with the service provided. Our old water heater was 17 years old and I planned a 'preventative maintenance' replacement but a cold shower that morning accelerated the project. I was not going to invest in reparing the old unit so I called Water Heaters Only. They were able to dispatch a technician within a few hours which meant the new unit was operational before lunch. The tech was neat and efficient and answered all of our questions. Job well done!

They were wonderful. They did a lot of work for me and their bid was very reasonable. They were super people and I had a good experience with them. The price was a lot less than I thought it was going to be. They were courteous, efficient, pleasant and clean. They cleaned up after themselves. It was just one person who did the work. They called me immediately when I called to schedule an appointment and to give me an estimate. I chose them because they weren?t pushy and they were on time. I felt like they gave me the right price. Overall, they were excellent. I would recommend them and I would use their services in the future too.

The work was great but I need to follow up because they did not successfully arrange for us to get a building permit which disappoints me. The work was very well done and the pricing was exactly as quoted. Their service was perfect. I called them up, the guy came the same day, and the guy that came was professional, courteous, and clean.

Unbelievable--fast, courteous and fair. I called 4 other places, large and small, and Water Heaters Only came in with the best quote *and* the best availability. Kevin, our very experienced plumber, was on site within a couple of hours, and threw himself into the work with real passion--figuring out the best way to install, adding all sorts of extra safety features--without adding extra charges--and basically doing a perfect, professional and even creative job of getting us the best hot water installation we could hope for. And you won't find a more pleasant, enjoyable professional to work with. Just really, really extraordinary. If every provider were like Water Heaters Only, we wouldn't need an Angie's list.

Called several companies. This company a) gave us the best price, b) sent someone out within a few hours c) completed the job in an hour and a half and d) the person who performed the service was super nice and professional.

Steve B. came out the same day we called, was very prompt, and did a good job of explaining our choices for replacing our defunct water heater. He was very factual...no annoyingly aggressive sales tactics at all. Very pleasant person and did an excellent, professional job in a timely, very efficient manner. We were really happy with the service, and highly recommend the company and Steve B.

We were pleased with their service. They were very detailed with their work. They came out very quickly on a Sunday morning which was incredible. We took a whole bunch of their business cards so that we could recommend them to friends and neighbors. Their estimate was the lowest. We had estimates from 2 other companies.

The technician was worth every penny. He consulted with the city about whether the heater had to be on a stand or could be installed directly on my concrete garage floor. Happily Santa Clara allows certain models to be on the ground, so that saved me some $$. My house is small and he didn't have an appropriate size with him so he went back to San Carlos to get it. He was very tolerant of the messy garage (I was moving junk out of his way some of the time) and got right to work. It was all done in one day. A happy result of the bright shiny new pipes -- the hot water is delivered faster and stronger than before. I thought the water heater itself was expensive, but I wasn't prepared to quibble about it. At least it was on PG&Es approved list, so I can apply for a small rebate. Oh, and I had a discount from Angie's list.

Easy to reach. Talked to knowledgeable people every time I called. They returned calls. And they are big enough to be available 24x7 throughout the bay area. The installer arrived a little late, but then stayed until 11 p.m. to finish the job so we would have hot water that night and in the morning. After conferring with the office, I was able to order exactly the right water heater for me, complete with a second anode to prevent rust and extend the life of the new heater. The installer showed up with the heater and was pleasant, competent, and extremely diligent. The price was about 20% below other bids and the Rheem heater is rated higher than offerings from other vendors.

Old water heater developed some kind of crack such that we woke up one morning and discovered that a) we had no hot water, and b) the garage was flooded about an inch deep. The landlady wanted to have a friend-of-a-friend do the replacement, but I persuaded her that it would be better to actually have it done professionally (the old heater had been set up on a rickety platform, not attached to the wall, and with its pressure release valve having no piping attached to it, so that if it did vent, anyone standing next to it would get scalded). WHOI sent somebody out to examine the heater that day. After I shared their initial estimate with the landlady, and she thought it was too much and wanted to go with a non-pro install, I called them back, and they agreed to knock $100 off their initial estimate and to install a somewhat larger and more-efficient (cheaper to operate) model than a straight replacement would call for. This mollified the landlady, and we scheduled the install for the next day. The plumber they sent took out the old heater, installed the new one, strapped it down tightly to the wall for stability, ran pipe around the side of the garage to an outer wall (this was in a townhouse on a hill, so two walls were shared with other units, and the back wall was underground) for venting. Got the work done in a few hours.

Service was good the technician was professional. However the price was high and the product was of lower quality. I was needing this done quickly and after the job was completed I went back and researched the product to find that I could have gotten a more efficient water heater for the same price.

I awoke this morning to no hot water. A quick examination of my basement revealed that my 10-year old B&W hot water heater was leaking. I went to Angie's List and saw Water Heaters Only with an A Rating nearby. I called them at 8 am and arranged for an estimator to come by between 10:30 am and 12:30 pm. "Steve" called at about 10:00 am and said he would be at my house in Palo Alto around 10:40 am to 11:00 am. He arrived a little before 11:00 am. I showed him the basement, we discussed options and then he prepared two written quotes... 1 for a tankless and 1 for a conventional (with tank) hot water heater. The difference was almost $3k between the two, so despite my green feelings, I opted for the conventional system. I asked when he could install it... he said "now". And sure enough, it's now 2:30 pm and the job is done. I took a quick look at the installation and it looks tip-top (with strapping for earthquake, appropriate lines, etc.) and my hot water is hot once again and my old hot water heater is gone. Nice job. Great service. And they had a $25 coupon on-line.

Installer was reasonably prompt. He looked at my old water heater and said that I needed a "short" unit in order to vent the exhaust promptly. This wound up increasing the replacement cost by $100 to $150 from what I was told when I scheduled the appointment. Unfortunately, he didn't have a short water heater in his van and had to drive to Redwood City to retrieve it.

We have an impossible location for a water heater in our old house. They modified the necessary lines and custom made a new pan to go under the heater. The servicemen literally had to wrestle the water heater to get the old one out and get the new one in. They also knew how to work with the local building inspectors who could be difficult at times. They created a situation that would make future maintenance much easier. We would use them again.

My old water heater startedleaking the night before. I called Water Heaters Only at around 9 am after researching Angie's List. I was given an estimate of costs and was told that somebody would be at my place between 2 and 6 pm. They also said that they would call 1/2 hour before they would be here. They did this and the servicman arrived at about 4 pm. Did a thorough and professional job...never rushed and he was here until after 6 pm. I've already recommended the firm to others.

I called Water Heaters Only at 8:00am and Paul had someone at my house within 2 hours to replace it. Water Heaters Only was very responsive and did a very professional job of replacing my old water heater with a new one. They were courteous on the phone, had a knowledgeable and friendly technician at my house within 2 hours, and finished the job in another 2 hours. It was a very satisfying experience to deal with a company who has great customer service and follows through on their outlined schedule. I highly recommend Water Heaters Only.

They came out to do an estimate to move our water heater to a new location. They charged $75 just to do the estimate, but their price was $3000 compared to $1800 from another well rated water heater guy on the list who came later that day (and he didn't charge us for the estimate).

The guy they sent was very professional, removed the existing water heater and the jerry-rigged fiberglass blanket, which he bundled up for us to dispose of--apparently the previous owner had wrapped our water heater with roofing insulation, which he wasn't able to take on the truck with him. Replaced the gas valve with something easier to shut off, and put the earthquake bracing together better than it was before. Only point missed was that to effect the new gas valve he shut off the gas to the furnace--it took us a day to figure that out and relight. Otherwise, would definitely recommend.

We discovered the heater was burst because we got up to shower in the morning and had no hot water; went downstairs to find the storage area behind the garage flooded. Shut off water, called landlady. She wanted to have some non-professional "friend" deal with it, I insisted on having an actual licensed contractor. WHO did the job beautifully; came out the day after the incident to evaluate and give estimate, did the job the day after that.

Very nice woman answered the phone. She gave me several options including how to try to fix the water heater if I wanted. (They would not repair such an old heater). Explained different types of water heaters available. Gave me an estimate of $850. Serviceman arrived right on time. Was friendly, neat, thorough. Answered questions. Made sure new heater worked. Hauled off old heater. 10 hours from phone call to new heater working.

Water Heaters Only went above and beyond to make sue all codes were met with the installation. Garages have one code and family rooms have another. They actually made sure they met the codes of both because we didnt know what the inspectors would require. Even though they changed the price three times to upgrade the system from a 1950s code to a current one, I feel that their reasons were acceptable.
