We traded him a truck so he came to Arizona and put in our central vac. He had already done one for our house in Redwood City. Ralph is very good. He works very hard and he does a good job.

Ralph is top-notch on all fronts. I took my grandmother's 1962 Singer Fashionmate to Ralph because it wasn't catching thread correctly. Not only did Ralph fix the problem, but he gave the machine a much needed tune-up, and he helped me find a sewing cabinet for my prized machine—something I had been unable to do for years. Ralph and his staff are professional and friendly, and they get the job done. Their weekday hours are a little restrictive for catching them after work, so I had to make weekend trips to drop off and pick up my machine, but I'll go to Ralph's any time I need to in the future. He is the best!!!

In the middle of a sewing project, I was unable to load a new needle into my machine and thought something had broken. I took it into Ralph's and they showed me that in fact there was nothing wrong. However, they then took a look at the machine and showed me that it had never been serviced since new (I bought it used from a friend and it was at least 15 years old) and was in dire need of a service. They said it would be ready in two days and it was. Both the person I spoke with at the counter and the service man were professional and friendly. I felt very confident in their judgement and pleased with the results.

A fan of mine stopped working, so I looked for somewhere that did small motor repair. I was familiar with Ralph's, but didn't realize they fixed items other than sewing machines and vacuums. I called, they assured me that they could fix a fan- I brought it in on Sat, and it was fixed within a few hours. The price was $29.99; a pretty good deal for a fan that would have cost at least $90 to replace, and also it was nice to be able to repair something rather than throwing it away! *** NOTE this was the Redwood City location ***

After trying it at home, I was very pleased -- my carpets actually haven't looked this good in a long time. Ralph's provides a complimentary changing of the belt every six months and takes care of the vacuum's guarantee. I liked the experience of purchasing from a family business with sales people who know their products. I understand that Ralph's will soon have a new, large store at 837 Main Street in Redwood City (this store will replace both the San Carlos and current Redwood City locations).

I brought in the machine. They said $125 for a general maintenance tune up. About 10 days later they called to ask me to bring in the parts I forgot to bring (oops), and to say it would be $150 for the work I needed. It was done 2 days later. Works great and I expect to get another 20 years out of it.

They communicated very well with me on the status of my vacuum cleaner by phone. It was ready on time. When I picked it up, it looked brand new again! It also vacuums like new too!

My old vacuum wasn't working well so I took it in for service. They gently suggested that maybe I should replace it with a new vacuum (it is, admittedly, over 20 years old), but I told them that I have exactly one carpet to vacuum and I also have a canister vac, so I prefer not to replace it now. And that was that. And now that the old vac is working again, I'm good to go, at least for now.

The service was excellent. They were friendly and very knowledgeable. They also had a lot of other vacuums in there and people were going in and out, a good sign. Some of them were repeat customers. I'd definitely recommend using Ralph's. I think they also have a site in Redwood City.

THIS EXPERIENCE WAS EXTREMELY POSITIVE AND EDUCATIONAL. THE INDIVIDUAL REPAIRING MY SEWING MACHINE WAS VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE AND HELPFUL. I CAME AWAY WITH A MUCH BETTER UNDERSTANDING OF THE CAPABILITIES OF MY MACHINE.

THE WORK WAS RELIABLE. I GO THERE EVERY YEAR. THEY ARE FRIENDLY AND KNOWLEDGEABLE.

THIS WAS A SIMPLE FIX, BUT THE VACUUM CLEANER HAD SAT AT ANOTHER COMPANY FOR OVER A WEEK, AND WASN'T DONE. RALPH'S DID THE WORK AND I PICKED THE MACHINE UP THE NEXT DAY. ALSO VERY REASONABLE PRICE.
