They are responsive, prompt, and have very competitive prices. We are very impressed with the workmanship and attention to detail, and very pleased with the aesthetic results. Both Rafaels are friendly and a real pleasure to do business with. Next time, I won't bother with bids. I highly recommend Rafael Torres Masonry!

+ -1 moreWe did not use them. Their pricing was way too high. They gave that bid, I would say, in early October. They were very friendly. It just basically was the pricing as well as the overall look that they provided us, in terms of photos, was not what we were looking for. They were on time for the bid. I would probably not use them again in the future, but just because we found another mason that we really liked.

+ -1 moreI have not seen such a prompt and professional masonry company as they are. The did a fantastic job and were true perfectionists. They also cleaned everything up and it looks amazing! I have a whole list of other jobs I want them to return to do--they are truly a great source!
Description of Work: They carefully cut out the stone and mortar from around our pool to release the stone and mortar that had been place over the plates that hide the pool cover. The original masonry guys had made it impossible to access the pool cover by mortaring over the plates with stone. Rafael and his son did an amazing and precise job of cutting very carefully and then fixing any mortar joints that were cracked or broken. I can now access my worn pool cover and can have it replaced!

+ -1 moreThey got they job done in one day vs. the two days his quote was based on. Due to possible rain he had planned on only himself and a helper originally doing the work over two days as they had to clean off old mortar on the old brick, etc. but he brought in another guy later in the morning to get it all done in one day. The wall looks better than it has in years. In particular straightening up the leaning wall sections would have involved doing some digging and removing dirt and some very tough rose or bougainvillea roots.
Description of Work: Repaired a short in height (12"-15" high) garden retainer wall made of brick that over the years has had a few sections come apart. In the past I have tried resetting the old bricks myself but learned that bricklaying is definitely a skill I don't have. In the past year several more sections of brick had tumbled out of the wall. Rafael and his crew arrived on time and reset all the bricks that had fallen out, pulled out and reset others that were loose and also straightened up the wall in several sections that had been caused by roots from our bougainvillea plants and/or our rose bushes having pushed out the retainer wall in sections over the years.

+ -1 moreI'm very happy with the work done by Rafael and his crew. They pulled the old bricks off a section of the house, where they were pulling away. Replaced the foundation for the bricks, reinforced the side of the house then put the old bricks, along with a few new ones, back up. They were able to re-use the old bricks, which was great since the house is 50 years old. New bricks would not have matched the rest of the house.

+ 0 moreRafael is a delight to work with. He arrives on time and works very hard. He has all the contacts to make the job go quickly and easily. He and his crew work quietly and always leave the job site clean and organized. He does a great job and I will use him again soon on the rest of the garden remodel.
Description of Work: Rafael cleared a large portion of the lot. He moved irrigation systems and removed a lot of soil and failing raised beds. He leveled the area, dug 6 drainage holes, filled the drain holes and covered the area with compacted blue rock and then gravel. He formed concrete borders along the perimeters.

Description of Work: I have used Rafael Torres Masonry several times to do stone work and cement work. The last time I used him was in August to build some low seating outside wall in cement. It cost me a couple of $1000.
