I'm very disappointed at the quality! In removing the tree debris they dragged branches down the slope to throw them over a retaining 15' wall onto the driveway -- and in the process tore down the climbing ivy that had taken years to grow up the retaining wall! Months later I discovered chunks of tree they just threw in the bushes. After they were done the owner/manager Racio (sp?) wanted to stop by to pick up the check, but I told him I was heading back to my office and could meet up with him in a couple days. With no provocation he turned surly and threatened to sue me! (I now realize others must have better assessed the quality of his work and withheld payment.) I'm very tolerant and slow to anger (as you may be able to tell as I recount this story) but what finally prompted me to write this review is that the bridge repair turned out to be substandard and dangerous! The screws they used to attach the planks didn't hold (either too short or broke because they didn't pre-drill the holes), and we nearly had a serious accident (twice, actually, with 2 different people) when the end planks came loose. This weekend I went up to re-secure any loose planks, and more than 70% of them came off with a light pull. My experience with Lara Landscaping was overall terrible, and guarantees I'll never again use anyone who leaves their card on my mailbox.
Description of Work: A neighbor's big oak tree fell onto my hillside property during a storm, cracking the crossbeams of a short (10') wooden bridge that spans a gulley. Lara is one of those tree services that leaves their business card attached to your mailbox. Timing was right, so I called them up for a quote to saw up & remove fallen tree. They said they could also replace the bridge supports and reattach the planks. They weren't the cheapest, but the price seemed fair.

JAIME LARA AND HIS PARTNER, MAURICIO, HAVE TAKEN CARE OF THE PRUNING/TRIMMING OF OUR TREES FOR MANY YEARS. THEY WORK VERY HARD AND DO GOOD WORK. THEY SHOW UP PROMPTLY, DO QUALITY WORK, AND CLEAN UP THOROUGHLY WHEN FINISHED. THEIR PRICES ARE VERY REASONABLE AND I TRUST THEM TO DO A GOOD JOB. THEY ARE VERY HONEST AND REPUTABLE.
Description of Work: ONCE OR TWICE A YEAR I USE LARA'S TREE SERVICE TO PRUNE OUR FRUIT TREES AND PRUNE AND TRIM THE OTHER TREES IN OUR YARD. LAST YEAR STRONG WINDS BROKE OFF A HUGE SECTION OF ONE TREE, AND IT WAS LYING ACROSS OUR BACK YARD. THEY CLEANED UP THE MESS AND ALSO REPAIRED THE TREE.
