The crew was exceptional. They were polite, efficient, professional and very careful not to damage anything during the process of cutting it down and hauling it to the front of the house. They completed the job ahead of schedule. Kevin was amazing and a joy to work with! The price was great and we will have them back in the fall to do some trimming.

We interviewed many tree companies. Some said the job was too big for them which is okay. Others came and just rattled off a number or wrote a number on a business card Only two companies actually came timely for an estimate and gave us a legitimate written bid. Kevin Johnson came when he said he would, gave a reasonable price, applied the Angie’s list discount without prompting. He and his crew came to do the work when they were supposed to, did the job, cleaned up well and were cooperative. We would hire them again.

Johnson’s Tree Service was Amazing! Kevin gave me a competitive, fair estimate and his crew was able to come out right away. The crew was very professional. They worked great as a team and were able to take the trees down and grind the stumps in a fairly short period of time. It was a very big job and they handled it wonderfully. They also did a great job of cleaning everything up. I am pretty particular, but was very impressed with how well they cleaned everything up (physically & with the blower). I have used other tree services in the past, but highly recommend Johnson’s.

It went great! Owner and crew were on time, professional, knowledgeable and personable. I had 4 redwoods, 2 birch, 1 plum, and several very large oleanders and photinia trimmed and debris cleared. I highly recommend this company.

I called Johnson's Tree Care service in the morning and left a message on his answering service to schedule an appointment for an estimate (which they advertise as free). Kevin, the owner returned my phone call within a couple of hours and put me on his schedule for a site visit the next morning. He arrived on time and was very friendly and courteous. The redwood needed a city permit to cut and I had told him I was in the process of getting it. I got the permit a couple of weeks later and called Kevin up to schedule the work. He scheduled a day within the week that was agreeable to both of us. The Redwood, Liquidambers and the trimming of the oak was all done in 1 day. The equipment to grind the stump was at another job site so they had to reschedule that a couple days later. Payment was given AFTER all work was done. His workers were quiet, courteous and thorough. My wife commented that they left the property cleaner than when they had started. I just gave my next door neighbor the contact info for Johnson's Tree Care because he liked the work too.

Everything went as planned! We initially met with Kevin Johnson to go over our tree service needs. Kevin gave his recommendations, along with providing level set expectations. On the day of service, the three person crew showed up along with Kevin and all were on time. The tree service was performed by workers throughout the day. The workers kept the work areas tidy throughout the day. After the trimming was completed, all debris was placed into a tree shredder and all work areas were cleaned. The workers worked safely and got the job completed while focusing on attention to detail. Kevin met with us for a final inspection to ensure that the services were delivered as expected. Johnson’s Tree Care, Inc., provided excellent tree service. I look forward to having them support my future tree service needs. They are highly recommended.

From start to finish, Johnson's Tree Care was exemplary. Kevin was out to our house 3 or 4 times because of issues with city permits, neighbor's trees, etc., but he was always happy to come out and discuss the work to be done, advise how best to deal with many different issues, provide new/adjusted estimates, etc. The crew was also excellent: they did great work, were happy to explain what they were doing and why, and did an amazing job cleaning up. I sought estimates from five different companies--all with registered arborists on their staff--and Johnson's costs were comparable. In the end, Johnson's costs were right in the middle, but I felt Kevin gave me a clearer sense of what needed to be done and how and why than the other estimators; he quickly sent professional and detailed estimates via email; and he was also quick to send a copy of the company's insurance policy when I requested it. I'm sure it's possible to have tree work done more cheaply with a company that is not licensed or insured, but from my perspective, the costs were more than fair and were well worth the excellent work I received in return. I'd hire Johnson's again in an instant and would recommend them to anyone who needs tree work done.

Two large oak trees fell over in a storm. They needed to be cut up and chipped. The work was done efficiently and exactly as I asked. Great service.

Johnson's Tree Care Inc deserves an A+++++++++! My family needed a very large tree to be removed from the backyard and I found Johnson's Tree Care Inc through Angie's List. I immediately placed a quote request to them and had a quick response. Kevin was very accommodating and overall understood what we wanted. His business is in San Jose but I believe he services the entire SF Bay Area. Kevin came out to inspect the tree and gave us a quote and service details on the spot. I was under the impression that this would be a week long project but he and his team completed the service in 2 days. My family is extremely happy with his professionalism and how well he tidied up after the tree was removed. I will be referring Johnson's Tree Care Inc to anyone that is searching for an excellent, professional arborist and will reach out to them again for any future tree projects we may need. 10/10 highly recommend Johnson's Tree Care Inc.

We selected Johnson's Tree Care mainly because of 4 reasons: 1) responsive in scheduling the quote 2) polite while providing the info and the quote 3) very good price among the quotes we received 4) has the best insurance we saw among the quotes we received When the scheduled day came, they arrived on time and in about 4 hours finished everything including grinding the stump. Everyone was great to deal with and they did a good job. Highly recommended.

Removal included two very large juniper trees. Also needed the removal of some medium size trees and extensive vegetation. Stump grinding was included. Kevin was very easy to work with. His crew did a professional job. Would absolutely hire him again.

Great job. Our small backyard was totally dominated by a redwood tree which hadn't been professionally touched for years beyond an annual topping by PG and E. Kevin and his crew arrived on time and did a splendid job thinning out the tree, removing deadwood and overgrowth. They "brought in the sides" and removed branches that might bother my neighbors. They were on time, professional, thorough, competitive in their bid, carted away the debris, and did a really good clean up job. I can now see the sun!

I emailed Kevin Johnson Friday because he and his crew had done a fine job last Dec removing a huge dead Monterey pine in my mother's backyard in a similarly challenging location. The dead pine was in a corner, very close to a utility pole, and with branches overhanging 4 yards; they took it down to the ground without damaging anything and left the yard looking better than it had in years. Mr. Johnson emailed me back Friday, called Monday and came out before noon to give me an estimate, and by mid-afternoon he and his well-equipped crew had taken both trees down to the ground without damaging the picket fence they were leaning over and done such a thorough clean-up job the only signs of the work done are the (ground-level) stumps. The crew also removed an oak branch from a smaller tree that was overhanging the phone line and a dead yucca next to the gas meter that was so close to the house the trunk was touching the roof, without leaving any traces other than a stump and a stub. Highly recommended, couldn't be happier -- I look forward to using Johnson's Tree Service the next time we're ready to have some tree work done.

Both my wife and I feel that Johnson's Tree Care generally did a good job. They trimmed a large eucalyptus tree along with several other trees and removed a number of smaller ones. We did have some problems with the work that was mentioned in my original review. When the owner, Kevin Johnson, read our review he was nice enough to give us a call and offered to personally come out to our house to review the situation and fix some of the problems. I thought that was very nice of him and his offer was very much appreciated. -He was kind enough to refund the money. We were overcharged when we paid our bill with a credit card. He did a very long and complete power washing of the stains that were left on our driveway by their broken down wood chipper. He completely removed one of our three stumps but there was no removal or treatment of the other two.

Kevin and his crew of four arrived promptly at 8:30 AM. Cut down the trees while at the same time grinding them in their grinding machine, which was blowing the saw dust into a connected truck. His crew was very careful to not damage the other plants in our garden. After cutting the trees they proceeded to finely grind the stumps, mixing them into the soil and smoothing the area. They left everything very clean and, except for the fact that the trees were not there anymore, it looked like nobody had been working there! We are very happy with Kevin's work and professionalism. We'll certainly call him next time.
