Description of Work: My neighbor's tree was overhanging my backyard and needed to be trimmed. He came right away when I asked for a quote. Since the minimum charge for their services is $350 he recommended that a gardener could handle this and it would be was less expensive for me. He was absolutely correct and I really appreciated his looking out for my welfare. Would definitely recommend someone with this kind of integrity.

Description of Work: Asked Kevin for advice about how far I could have the mulberry tree pruned back since I felt knobs were getting too large and possibly unsafe. He provided pros and cons on cutting them off. I had them remove the knobs and it looks like the tree continues to sprout below cut line as Keith thought. While pruning, his team worked around potted plants and lawn sprinklers. Cleared all tree debris leaving work area clean.

Description of Work: Removed a large, dead oak tree in my yard. Removed all branches and debris. Swept up all sawdust and ground trunk down several inches below grade. Job was done in less than three hours; on time, on schedule and cleanly, and at significantly lower cost than another quote. Also cut several rounds of wood for fireplace fuel.

Description of Work: I contacted them for an appointment and rescheduled one email you Attley. The day before they called and said they were sick and would not be able to come. So we rescheduled, no problem. They never called again or showed up to the rescheduled appt.

Description of Work: Remove 1 problem tree, trim others. Initial contact, no response. Second contact, Quoted. Methods quoted not what actually happened. Trimmig not very effective. Paid on completion of job. He said he would email receipt. All I got was corrupted file. Later asked for receipt by snail mail. He responded that he would. Never received.

I would not say they were terrible but they were not very good. One thing that was not good was the fact that the person who did the estimate was an arborist but the arborist was not here while the work was being done.

Description of Work: Removed a Monterey Pine (about 100 foot high), and ground the stump. |I collected three estimates and the estimate from Johnson's was the lowest. They showed up on time and were efficient in the work. They also ground the stump, leaving a large mound of mulch about 3-4 feet high, 5-6 feet in width and about 12 feet in length -- which was expected. What was not expected, and only discovered after the lengthy task of removing the mulch, was to find the PG&E Christy Box demolished with iron bars protruding and live wires exposed. It was obvious they must have known about this but they said nothing. |I offered to pay by credit card at the end of the day but they insisted on a check stating that the company was now merging with Skyview Tree Service and they did not have the ability to accept a credit card payment at that time. The check was made out to Skyview. I asked, and they agreed, to hold off cashing the check for one day so that I might transfer funds. They cashed it within a couple of hours.

Description of Work: I contacted this company based on the amazing reviews on Angie's List. I reached him on the phone and he was driving, so he took down my number to call me back later. After not hearing from him for a few days, I tried calling again. We made an appointment for him to come by to provide an estimate. I took time off of work to be home and he didn't show up. No phone call, no text, no apology. I tried calling a few times and didn't get a response. To this day I haven't heard from him. This is not the type of customer service I'd expect from a company with such high reviews - this was just shockingly bad.

Description of Work: I needed several trees trimmed, one of which was a huge oak, which they thinned beautifully. Really nice job, great clean-up, reasonable price.

Description of Work: It went well. The foreman, who was very pleasant. oversaw the job and did everything I ssked.

Description of Work: Removal of 4 dead pine trees due to beetle disease. Tree work is very expensive but Johnson's is more reasonable than other companies. |We have used Johnson's for years. Robert the estimator provides a written estimate. He arrives on site to get workers started and re visits through out the day. He is professional and enjoyable to work with. Workers need to be reminded to be careful when dragging branches out to street to not scratch house or fence. Clean up is good. We will continue to use Johnson's and will recommend going through Robert one of their estimators.

Description of Work: I purchased a hillside property, which had a lot of dead trees, shrubs and weeds. The place was a mess. Jim and his team did great jobs removing dead trees, and cleaning up the property. Highly recommend them.

Description of Work: They pruned a large pine tree, pittosporum cluster and peach tree. This is the second time we have used Johnson's Tree Service. We would definitely use the again.
