Henry, Kevin and crew did a fabulous job trimming my trees today. I had 5 large trees and 2 smaller trees that had not been trimmed for 10 years. They arrived promptly as scheduled, asked my input before and during the job, and cleaned up (both my yard and neighbors yards) completely. The quote was very competitive. I am recommending them to my friends and will definitely hire them again!

It went great. They contacted me the day of the service to let me know they would be delayed -- but gave me lots of notice. They arrived and were done and out of here in 2 hours --nice job!

thought I had written a review, anyway, they were very prompt Kevin came out to give us an estimate on cutting down a tree as well as trimming a tree, I have already used this tree service twice and they were punctual, did exactly what we wanted. He knows a lot about trees and gave us a little education on what we should or should not do regarding trees, which was very helpful. they are clean up all the trimmings left our backyard clean, he would keep us posted on what was going on. Explained what was going to be done and how long it would take. I wold definitely use them again, which we are going to do in a couple of months!!! This company is great and they are very friendly and professional, you can go wrong!

A good experience, and I was glad to use a local business. Team arrived in the expected time frame - between 8:30 and 9. Henry, the original estimator, introduced the team - a foreman and three others (he left on other business, but returned to supervise the final details). They had all their gear ready and they brought an appropriately sized (big) chipper/shredder. The team was hard working and well organized - working together, in tandem, or independently. Considering the size of the job, it was done much sooner than I expected! Henry returned to review the work and accept payment. I asked them to cut the fig back quite a bit more and they quickly complied. My awful avocado is now a respectable specimen, properly cleaned and trimmed so that the wind can blow through. We talked about how to maintain this tree in the future. The trimming on the arbutus met the objective of keeping it clear of my house and the neighbors'. The shape is improved and I think full balance will be reached over time as the tree grows taller and can spread a bit more. The fig is cut back and pruned and I think it will grow forward (away from the house) as planned now that the apricot is gone. The crape myrtle was cleaned out and balanced just as I hoped. I'm looking forward to seeing it bloom in the late summer!

The crew showed up on time and ready to begin, worked all day made a huge mess and cleaned up every speck. All the trees look cleaner and more open, especially the grapefruit which was a tangled mess. They even managed to trim it back from the neighbor's side of the fence without ruining the overall shape of the tree. The acacia is old and getting brittle so they thinned it to relieve some of the weight from the major branches. One of the walnuts has a large dead area but they determined the wood around it is still strong and will hold for a few years more. They took all the dead fronds from the palm tree, and cleaned up the plum trees so we can walk under them and more sunlight gets through to the plants underneath. All in all the trees all look cleaner, lighter and still completely natural. I couldn't be more pleased with the work or the crew who were all very friendly and worked very hard.

Arrived on time and performed the job well. Was professional and courteous. The rate was reasonable compared to the quote we got from another service provider. Would recommend to others.

Very well! Mr. Johnson arrived with his crew on time and completed the work in a professional and efficient manner. The yard was left in a very clean stage...all crew members friendly. Mr. Johnson was not only friendly but also responded to our needs immediately...provided a free estimation....price very reasonable. I definitely recommend Mr. Johnson's services to others as well I would hire him again for any services I might need in the future. This is the company to use for any tree services you need.

Kevin from Johnson Tree Service was most helpful and knowledgable. Instantly provided a verbal quote based on not harming the adjacent tree house structure. Followed by a written email quote. Couple weeks later a very professional crew showed up. So did Kevin. The work was exactly as hoped. Their clean up was great. They even got on the roof of the house to blow off pine needles that had been there for years. With our busy schedule it was nice to have such a big project go on time and exactly as expected. Very entertaining to watch the process on such a large tree.

Kevin Johnson and his crew were prompt and courteous. His estimate was exact and they even did a bit more work than originally. They cleaned up after the job and mulched the deadwood for my backyard. I would hire them without reservation in the future.

The manager and the crew arrived promptly as scheduled. They removed a large tree, which was located very close to the house with branches over hanging the roof. The stump was ground and all debris was removed from yard. The cleanup was thorough and the yard was left in good condition. The crew members were very courteous and considerate throughout the entire process

We got a quote from Kevin Johnson for $2340 for the removal of two trees, and the stump grinding of one (including the 10 percent Angie's List discount - greatly appreciated). Scheduled for 2/4/14 at 8:30 AM. Henry Vargas was parked in front by about 8:00 AM, and the trucks arrived on the dot at 8:30. Work was anticipated to take one and a half days, but they finished by about 5:00 PM on the first day. We added a huge pile of branches and brush to the chipper load (not part of the original estimate), and Henry had his guys chip it along with the other two trees we had removed. For adding the extra pile Henry charged only $60. The whole process was pleasant from beginning to end - Kevin Johnson and Henry Vargas are extremely personable, listen well, and are always ready to share their wealth of knowledge about trees. These guys are terrific in every way. I would not hesitate to have them do more work for us in the future. Highly recommended.

Guys showed up on schedule, cleaned up nicely after they were done, and the yard looks MUCH better. They were scheduling about 1 week out. We got other cheaper bids but these guys seemed professional. Ahead of the job, these guys called 811 to do a dig alert before digging - important step before digging in a yard to avoid utility lines. They were also familiar with the county tree ordinances. I would definitely use them again.

They had to reschedule the initial appointment, but did so courteously; including responding well when *I* forgot the time. Initailly, two guys came out to survey the place, including Henry. He was as perplexed as I as to the type of tree the big one was, but guessed pecan, which he later verified. We talked about options. Some hours later, the proposal arrived via email, including the Angie's discount, plus a package deal for all trees and removing the leaves; originally I'd only asked about the one big tree. The package made the price quite good I thought - and it was their idea. Four guys came out to do the trimming, and all was done pretty quickly. Both the original 'sales' guys returned to verify the work. All told, I'm quite pleased.

Johnson's Tree service did a good job. I received two quotes, one from Johnson's and the other from Aly's. I had much more confidence in Aly's when they reviewed and quoted the work to be done because they use trained arborists and they seemed to be more knowledgable. Aly's was also more professional in their approach, however, their price was 45% higher than Johnson's. Johnson's even at $1,200 for a team of 3 people for a few hours seemed high. I liked that Johnson's reviewed the work they did and they made some good decisions on how to cut back on the trees. During the last walk through, I discovered they missed trimming one tree, which they did immediately - although it seemed rushed. Overall, the work was good and would use them again since the price-value was there.

We had two two-story date-nut palms trimmed. Johnson's did an excellent job. Clean up after trimming was fantastic.

Christmas 2006 left us with a 3 foot living Christmas tree that ended up in the back yard which seemed OK at the time. The little pine thrived and nearly 7 years later was now about 30 feet tall and growing with up to 20 or more feet possible. It unfortunately had to go. I contacted the top 3 rated services in Angie's List for my area for quotes. Johnson's Tree Service was listed first. While one of the other services jumped quickly and provided a sooner that expected on site estimate; the $750 was much more than I anticipated. It was his very best price and he would throw in 2-3 cedars. Henry, from Johnson's Tree Service replied next and scheduled an on site estimate the following Saturday morning. Henry was very courteous and provided his assessment of the tree agreeing that it needed to go due its size and location, but was otherwise a very healthy specimen. His quote was $400 and included a cedar I asked him about. He said they would take about 1.5 hours and would clean up afterword. The third service responded a week late (too late) to schedule an on site quote. The job went to Johnson Tree Service. Henry and his efficient crew arrived a little early on the agreed day after calling me to see if that was acceptable. The tree, the cedar, along with Henry and his crew were gone in less than an hour! They did an amazing job avoiding damage to the nearby fencing and shrubs, and cleaned up debris. They even picked up and swept up the yard clippings in the street waiting for the city pick up. Henry and his crew did a great job. I don't know how they could have done a better job. Representative was on time for estimate and provided service on requested date and time. Professional supervision was on hand at all times, and discussed details of work before starting each part of job. Workers were quick and responsive to my direction. All debris was removed. Price for job was competitive with another estimate I obtained.

All went really well. Back and forth with Henry Vargas on a few questions with all being answered. Jophnson tree service was the only one I contacted that actually mentioned the possibility of needing a tree permit from the city. Henry was also the only one who knew the names of the trees! A team of 5 showed up on time. Soon after Henry and Kevin Johnson, arborist and company owner, to confirm tree removal and trimming extent. The team worked hard and flawlessly to get the job done. All areas nicely cleaned up. Henry was a fun to deal with and professional too! Would highly recommend their service.
