 + -1 moreKevin's advice for one of the fruit trees was simply to remove it, as it was in bad shape and probably would never recover to the point of bearing fruit in the future. I took his advice, and asked to have a new tree planted in its place. Kevin handled finding the replacement tree, which was helpful and appreciated. His crew was fast and professional, arriving on time on the day we had scheduled for the work. I got two walkthroughs of the work; before and after. I was very happy with the quality of the work and communication, and thought the price was quite reasonable for the work done.
Description of Work: I had several trees in bad need of trimming, plus more than needed standard trimming and care. Most of the trees are fruit trees, plus a couple of Italian cypresses.

 + -1 moreKevin was very easy to work with, responsive, and very professional. A couple of other tree companies told me that I should just prune the (dying) tree and that it will likely revive if we just cut off the infected limbs. It turns out Kevin was right and they were wrong - while waiting for a permit from the city, another huge branch just broke off on its own (sunny day, no wind) and almost fell onto the sidewalk! Kevin is a certified arborist, so that was a big help in working with San Jose city hall to get the necessary permits for the tree removal. Leading up to the work day, he also contacted all the utility companies to make sure there weren't any pipes in the vicinity of the tree. The work itself went smoothly - his team was on-time, did great work, and left the work site very clean. Could not have asked for a better experience, and will definitely hire again for future tree work.
Description of Work: A large "ordinance size" tree in our front yard was losing big branches, so Kevin from Johnson's Tree Care came out to evaluate its health. After determining that it was dying and could not be saved, Kevin and his team removed the tree, ground the stump, then planted a replacement tree. They also pruned a large street tree.

This was also the case with emails that were exchanged and even rescheduling due to us having to change the date. Kevin and his team arrived exactly when they said they would. They performed everything we asked of them in the most professional way, and left our yard actually cleaner and more tidy than when they arrived. I would not hesitate to use them again or recommend to others. A 5 star job - Thank you!

Robert Regalado, sales manager, was wonderful to work with. Communication was clear, scheduling easy, and pricing very reasonable. He returned several times to monitor the progress of the job.  + -1 moreKevin and his crew showed up on appointment day on time and ready to work. During the job, they asked me if I was satisfied with their work so far. I was. Everyone did an excellent job trimming all my trees and cleaning up afterward. They even reconnected one rain gutter to my house that had come loose months earlier. They completed the work much faster than I thought they would. I will definitely hire them again. I give them an A+.
Description of Work: I contacted Kevin at Johnson's Tree Care for an estimate. I needed 4 trees (1 huge and 3 small) trimmed on my property. When he came by to look at the trees, he asked me what I wanted to have done. After I told him, he said that he would email an estimate to me. His estimate was reasonably priced and it included the Angie's List discount for members. i contacted him to set up an appointment for his crew to do the work.

Description of Work: Johnson's Tree Care did a great job trimming an enormous ash tree in front of my house (a City-owned tree by the street-side). I had a different company come in before Johnson's Tree Care to do the work and they charged me what I thought was a good price but only trimmed the lower branches of the tree and hardly got anything towards the top of the tree. Plus, there were still lots of noticeably dead branches. They had only one worker and one supervisor doing the job. Frustrated that they wanted to charge me extra to finish the job, I looked for a different company and found Johnson's Tree Care. Johnson's was friendly and responsive and offered me a great price, given my current predicament. In contrast to the first company, Johnson's had a crew of three guys plus a project supervisor. They were able to finish the job in about an hour and took care of the upper tree limbs that had previously gone unaddressed.
