+ -1 moreSingle story residence, built 1956: When we had our chimney cleaned, we were told that it was unsafe because of a cracked tile liner. The cleaner told us that Deans Design does a lot of chimney liner replacements, so I called them. Gary Dean came out and did a chimney inspection and found the entire lining was cracked & needed replacing. I interviewed him, and got some details about his background and experience. He is a general contractor who was called upon by a developer to restore numerous chimneys after the Loma Prieta earthquake. Because of his consistent success in the field, it led him to specialize in chimney construction/repair. This man really knows chimneys! We liked him, we liked his price. Work was completed in a day and a half. The job was scheduled, performed, and finished off to our greatest satisfaction. This is a truly professional company.
Description of Work: Removed old cracked chimney liner, then replaced with new tiles, new cement chimney cap, new adjustable flue, and new, more efficient spark arrester. Hauled away all debris and cleaned up spotlessly.

+ -1 moreIt took them about 2 hours to replace the flue. You can't really see into the flue, so it is a little impossible to know if they did a very good or an excellent job. They were very prompt, actually a little early.
Description of Work: They replaced our cracked chimney flue with a new ceramic tile flue.
