About us

Established in 1976 Bodnar Heating & Air Conditioning began with Rudy Bodnar, former Westinghouse troubleshooter, who saw a need for a residential air conditioning service company. In 1976 he opened his doors in San Carlos and became well known in the area for his expertise and excellence in service. In 1983 his son Bruce took over the company and carried on his father's legacy, over the following decades growing the company into the premier residential service provider on the mid-peninsula today. Now, Bruce's son, John is also a member of the team. Together with his father they provide sterling repair and maintenance service, indoor air quality advice and design, and assistance to HVAC installers and general contractors.

Bodnar Heating and Air Conditioning is family owned and operated. Our primary focus is to repair and maintain residential HVAC systems. Routine maintenance is the most important factor to sustaining the efficiency and long-life of your system. If equipment replacement is necessary, we use a customized approach with our clients. For the historical home we take great pride in bringing a customized approach, recognizing the need to uphold the historic integrity of the grand mid-peninsula manors.

This is a nice family business. His wife does the scheduling. He showed up promptly. He found a small part that my furnace needed, had it in the truck, installed it, and only charged me $135. He is honest and efficient.

John Bodnar, the Bodnar tech, serviced my 3 furnaces 1/17/2013 and 3/4/2013, and I will have him do their annual check next year. He arrives within the time window scheduled, comes prepared with the right equipment, knows the furnaces' technical aspects--as well as that of the ducting and air intakes, efficiently and competently goes to work performing the needed service and repairs, and is pleasant to deal with. Their pricing is within the industry standard. I recommend this company.
