Both jobs went very well. Aidan has a tremendous work ethic, has a great eye for detail and is very creative when it comes to ideas to make a job look nice.
Description of Work: Rock Solid did 2 jobs for me over the course of about 4 years. First was demo and removal of an existing concrete patio, and installation of a poured, stamped concrete patio and 3 footers for a patio cover. The second project just recently completed was the installation of a stone veneer on the front of the house, and 4 constructed pillars on either side of 2 gates.

Rock Solid did a fabulous job on this small project. I worked with Aidan, Juan and Drew. They always arrived on time, got right to work, and did an excellent job. I also asked if they could repair some block wall caps on an older block wall in the yard, and they did a great job at a very small price. It was a pleasure working with them. I had several email exchanges with Aidan asking questions about different options for this job. He was incredibly patient with all my questions and always replied promptly. I highly recommend this company.
Description of Work: I hired Rock Solid Concrete to extend the height of a block wall between my house and my neighbor.

The job started on a Saturday and the contractor wasn't present, just two workers and a lead. That day's work was to apply the first, brown coat. I couldn't get a question answered by the lead worker on the job and tried to telephone the contractor. He did not respond to the message I left and, instead, telephoned the lead worker and sent him to me to answer the question. I noticed that weep holes in one section had been plastered over and pointed it out to the lead worker. He said they just hadn't gotten to it yet and soon they were opened. What I didn't notice was that they weren't opened in another section. The final coat was applied next Saturday, one week later, by the same crew. The workers left without speaking to me and I discovered the unopened weep holes in the second section. I tried reaching the contractor by phone but could only leave a message. The contractor and the lead worker showed up at the site a day later, with no advance notice, at about an hour after sundown. The contractor ended up getting a flashlight to look at the work (darkness had descended) and first alleged that weep holes weren't in the original wall anywhere and then tried to say the ones that were opened were in the footing, not the wall. They left saying they would return when light was better to continue finding out what happened. I printed what pictures I had of the wall to prove my point. The lead worker showed up the next day demanding the final payment. I showed him the pictures and he flatly denied that what I said were weep holes were, in fact, weep holes. He insisted that they were merely broken mortar. i decided to just make the final payment and re-drill the weep holes myself. I wanted no more to do with this contractor,. Except for the weep hole issue, the stucco work was well done. Since conflict resolution is important to me, I will never use this contractor again nor recommend him to others. This review has been written by my husband who was the one involved with the contractor.

To save money I purchased the materials locally and brought them home, then called Rock Solid for a quote and to arrange the work. Casey answered the remaining questions that I had, advised that I use natural colored mortar, and quoted the job at a very reasonable price. Casey then set a date that was convenient for us both. As it turned out I was called away out of town the day the work was scheduled, so I was a bit nervous not being home to watch, but I called Casey in the middle of the day and he sent me a photo on his camera phone, that set my mind at ease. The job was proceeding beautifully. When I returned home that night, the job was nearly complete, with a bit more finish mortar work to be done the next day, which Casey returned and performed. The job turned out great, and I get many complements on the work from friends and neighbors. Casey is not done yet though, the final phase of the project is to stucco clad the block wall, which I will contract Rock Solid to do once Springtime arrives.
Description of Work: Rock Solid installed the Double-Bullnose wall cap on my low garden wall, which they had built previously. Just as before, the work was professional and clean and came out beautiful, just as I had hoped.

It is important to note that the first day's work was done while I was at work, unable to be home to confirm the work was being done exactly as I had specified. Casey had asked many questions confirming my intended design goals on the day that he quoted the job, and called me several times that day at work to re-confirm his understanding. This was much appreciated, since it set my mind at ease. When I arrived home that night I saw the project about 80% complete, and exactly the way I had intended. Casey arrived the next day and completed the work without issue. The wall is straight and square and looked exactly as I had intended. He cleaned up the work area, and left it as it had been before he started. He even offered to assist in the tile and stucco work in case I run into trouble as a DIY'er.
Description of Work: I needed a 40' long garden wall built in my backyard. I purchased the materials and then found Rock Solid Concrete to do the work. Casey gave me a very fair estimate and completed the work in two days time. The final result was just as I had imagined it in my mind. The work was done quickly and professionally, and Casey cleaned up completely between the two workdays, and then completely when the job was finished. I am going to add some finishing touches to the wall in the way of adhered slate tiles and stucco, and having a sturdy and perfectly made structure will make for a perfect finished product.
