Everything went great. Michael broke down the fence is sections, and hauled it away. The lumber was delivered, sprayed with termite and water repellant. Broken/rusted brackets were replaced. The fence went up in stages, posts, supports and then the boards - dog eared cedar. He built two custom gates, one for me and one for my neighbor. Everyday my home was left clean without debris. Michael was very pleasant to work with (and he's a Ranger fan). : ) I would recommend Dela Woodwords.

Posts were not installed properly and doors do not close firmly. Update to Provider's Response: To address the span of time prior to reporting the unsatisfactory work, I was providing you with adequate time to repair the unsatisfactory work. At that time, you acknowledged that you did not know how to repair the work properly. When we realized you were not going to repair the unsatisfactory work, we then reported it to Angie's List. We were totally surprised of the ratings that is posted as completed by your company when you appeared not to have the necessary knowledge working with vinyl. I implore Angie's list to send an inspector over to verify my claims. The shoddy work is still there for all to see. I am disappointed that Dela Woodworks did not live up to their word to repair the unsatisfactory work. We would be glad to have a 3rd party contractor to evaluate the shoddy work and post it so Angie's List could be more proactive in the resolution of this injustice.

Michael was a pleasure to do business with. He always returned phone calls and emails, and arrived on time for appointments. He was careful with our property and pet tortoise, and he cleaned up after himself. We are considering having him do another patio structure when we decide on a design.

It went very well. He did excellent work for a very reasonable price. He was very knowledgeable and used good quality materials. A pleasure to work with, even though two neighbors were involved with different requirements.

Michael was very professional. He called back when he was supposed to. He showed up when he was supposed to. He started the job when he said he would. He even accommodated special requests when we asked that the painting of the fence to be done at his location instead of ours, prior to installation. I would and have recommended him to our neighbors and I would gladly do business with him again.

Michael was very helpful in figuring our the escape route and helping me close the gap.

We found him through Angie’s List; we would not have found him otherwise, just that one contact was so valuable. He was excellent. He was very contentious, flexible, and was very easy to work with. We were able to do a brain storming with him discussing ideas. Everything was to our satisfaction. His price was fair though he had to do a lot of work. We were really happy with him; we cannot wait to have another job done by him.

The man from Dela Woodworks came out. They have been around for 15-20 years. He knew what I was talking about and we went over it pretty thoroughly. For the most part he really answered my questions. I will be asking a few more before they come out and do the work. For the most part they seemed like working guys who knew what they were doing. I got the impression that they were straight forward and honest people. It was kind of tough to them to call me back, but they are pretty busy. I had called them a couple times and when he called me back he apologized and said that they were really busy with it coming up on the rainy season. It seems they are just a hard working outfit that always has a lot of work.

We had an old decayed fence that had fallen over. Also we had an old wooden gate that was in disrepair. When I initially talked with Michael, he was very busy, but agreed to come in the evening to give me an estimate. We discussed the work and he laid out a few options as to how I wanted the fence built and how the gate should work (open in or out, latch on left, etc). He was pretty thorough and, by the time he left, I had a good understanding of what I was getting. The price seemed a bit high, but he said he could do the work quickly and I had not been able to find anyone else available. Michael did all the work himself, arriving on the scheduled day. It took 2 full days to remove the old fence & gate and to build the new ones. We are very pleased with the result. The new fence is very sturdy and looks much better. Michael treated the wood to be termite resistant and was able to add a second gate to the new fence, which makes yard access much easier. It's not easy to build a gate that works nicely. So we are very happy that both gates open easily and close firmly. I was not particularly happy that Michael did not remove all the old fence material, which we had to haul away ourselves. But it was worth it to get our fence & gates done.

Michael is great to work with. He's easy to talk to and very detailed with his explanation of what he will be doing and any options I might have. Besides the fact that he does excellent work, his estimate was less than half of the estimate I got from a vinyl fencing company. I'm very happy I chose to go with real wood and I plan on continuing to work with Michael on other projects in the future. He's a great guy, highly recommend!!

Michael and his workers showed up each day and put in a full-days work and it was really, really hot so that was pretty great. The fence is on an incline so I know it was a pain to work on but they dealt with it and tried to keep things (dirt, boulders) in place. I had 2 concerns half-way through the job, one was that our dogs would escape out the bottom since the fence was on a hillside and while the top was even the bottom had gaps due to where the fence met the dirt and second, the posts were a bit visible and so didn't look as finished as I wanted. I talked with Michael and he came up with two great fixes--the fence looks beautiful and the dogs cannot go anywhere. Michael was a pleasure to work with and he did a beautiful job. Highly recommend.

We have several projects that needed doing around our property. Michael came and spent a lot of time getting us estimates for all of them. Due to his schedule and ours, as well as our neighbor's limited budget, we ended up only doing a repair of one of the fences, which Michael was happy to do and did a wonderful job on. We still hope to have him do some of the other projects in the future!

Michael was very responsive in coming out to my house to look at the old fence, discuss my options and then provide me an estimate to remove the old fence and construct a new one. We discussed several options for the new fence and then he provided me with an estimate shortly thereafter. I used Michael's estimate as part of my claim to my insurance company and he was very prompt with his follow-up and responses to any of my questions. I did not begin the job until about 6 weeks after the original estimate because of the time to process the insurance claim. However, once I gave Michael the go-ahead, he was able to start shortly thereafter. He was prompt and efficient in his work and completed the entire job in about 9 days. He was very organized with his tools and the building materials and was very conscious throughout the job of not leaving a mess in my yard. Because I have a dog and one of my neighbors has a dog, he staged the work to provide the least disruption possible for our dogs. The job cost exactly what Michael said it would and provided me exactly what I expected. All in all, I was very pleased with Michael as a professional, a craftsman and a person. I would gladly use him again for carpentry work and would highly recommend him to others.

Arrived on time for initial meeting to discuss job and get estimate. Delivered estimate in a timely manner. Once we agreed to move forward with the job, began as agreed. I added some additional small items to the overall job which were performed as agreed. Project took a little longer than anticipated due to delays in obtaining materials, but not significantly. Good communication feedback as the job progressed. Job site kept clean and orderly as it progressed. Overall, very satisfied with the performance and final product. Would not hesitate to use this contractor again.

My 20 year old redwood fence was hanging on by a thread due to weather and termite damage. I contacted Michael at Dela Woodworks through Angie's list. We corresponded via email, he came by to look at the fence, provided a written estimate and gave me an approximate date of when he would be available to do the work (which was about a month wait time). True to his word, he called a week prior to confirm his start date and arrange for me to pay the 50% deposit. We walked through the work to be done and together we spoke with my neighbor to discuss the (minimal) impact the work might have on my neighbor's yard & driveway while the work was being done. I left on a business trip and when I returned, the new cedar fence was finished, it looks fabulous, very sturdy and attractive. Michael's crew also hauled away the old fence and left my yard and the surrounding area clean and neat. Michael and his workmen did a great job from start to finish.

Michael was on time and was clear with his communications throughout the process. Always confirming on any decision that could impact the initial estimate. I really appreciate it and it was a good experience overall.

Michael responded promptly after we contacted him and met with us to estimate the project. He was able to start within a week or so and met with us one additional time prior to starting to finalize details such as exact height of the enclosure and width of the boards etc. Once he started, it took 2-3 days which included the time to remove the old enclosure and railing. After removing the old enclosure and railing he found some additional termite damage to a floorboard and repaired that as well. He is very friendly and easy to work with. The quality of the work is excellent and very sturdy. We benefited from his experience and ideas for making the enclosure look more visually attractive like making one side slightly lower and leaving a space at the bottom for rain water to flow out. We would call him again for similar projects.

He meet with us to give a quote head of time and then promotly scheduled when to come build the gate, once we decided to use him. He is a honest guy who really knows his stuff! Really nice and easy to work with. The gate he built was exactly what we wanted and he did such a great job, the my aunt even hired him for a project! I will be calling him again for new projects at my place!

A written proposal (cost, schedule, performance) was difficult to get (got one before I paid the bill) but all verbal estimates were fully met. Carpenter and owner Michael De Laurentiis was easy to discuss my needs with, negotiate and was very fast/productive. Lumber and other hardware was purchased, brought to site (home), cut to fit, tongue and groove boards assembled, cross/diagonal shear boards affixed, wavy top designs copied from old gates with paper templates used to cut top of new gates, hinges and latches affixed. Gates hung and tested for clearances and locking. On site work (excluding design and wood/hardware purchase time) took less that 3 hrs per gate, about 1.5 full labor days over 3 consecutive calendar day time (including work set-up, tear-down and insect repellent spray).

It turned out well. He was willing to work with us on what we needed. He did it in a pretty timely manner.

Bid and prep were handled professionally. Michael crafted our fence (it's too beautiful to say just "built") methodically and was meticulous about clean-up as he went along (important to us since we have 2 dogs). He was responsive to our questions and concerns. Altogether, a very good experience.

I scheduled an appointment for Dela Woodworks to bid on the replacement of an old cedar fence enclosing the perimeter of the property. Michael came out to discuss the project and take measurements. He arrived on time, was professional, and explained different ways the project might be handled. The bid sent was within my expectations. The only reason Dela Woodworks was not hired is that we decided to use, after weighing the pros and cons, a vinyl fence. (We're in a coastal community, with a termite problem.) I will definitely contact Dela Woodworks if an interior woodworking job comes up.

Good experience. Michael responded positively to our particular concerns and requests at each stage of the job. Job started and ended on schedule. Only change to quote was due to additional request on our part. Job site was kept extremely clean. We would use Michael again.
