Merry Maids of Redlands, CA

They were hired by my tenant to do a move out clean up in a townhouse I own in Loma Linda. I were to let them inside the unit because the tenants had already left town. They called 15 min before arrival, but they showed up early & decided to enter the townhouse I left unlocked without my consent. Before they started the job, I asked if the blinds, inside cupboard & inside windows were covered. To which they replied no. When I asked how much extra it would be, they said that I had to call the office. Called the office & I spoke to the most unprofessional & rude customer service rep I have ever encountered , who ultimately hang up the phone on me. All I was trying to do is add the items they didn't cover and pay for it. I informed the crew what had transpired & due to their unprofessional staff in the office I wanted them to leave. Later I found out that they had charged the tenants credit card $375 for the service they hadn't rendered. She tried to get a refund & for couple of days her calls were not returned. Ultimately, the sales manager called her back & only refunded her $150 out of the $375. They lied about my conduct & they also lied about how long the crew was in the house. Three strikes and you're out. I have used this service many times over the past couple years, spent thousands of dollars, etc. When the maids are here, they do an acceptable job. I think they could clean a little more deeply in the corners/under things and do a better job vacuuming, and I don't like the fact that if I want them to clean the kitchen sink I have to do my own dishes ahead of time, but whatever... Recently, my biggest problem with Merry Maids isn't their lackluster cleaning, it's their bold-faced lying. I can't say I've worked with a company that insisted on lying to its customers as often as possible. Here's what's happened *three times:* 1. I make an appointment. My place is big so they always want to clean it in the morning hours 2. I take off work and wait. They don't show up, no call, no explanation. 3. I call asking why aren't the maids here?, and they tell me I got the appointment time wrong. They do this Every. Single. Time. So I decided to be extra careful, as they never give a confirmation call the day before. I started calling the day before to confirm the appointment time. Here's what happened: 1. I confirm the appointment time as with Merry Maids the day before the cleaning. 2. Day of the cleaning - no maids! 3. Call and once again I'm told I got the appointment wrong. No amount of explaining to the "supervisor" that I confirmed the appointment just the day before makes a difference. She even claims to have left a voicemail on my phone. She has the correct phone number but there is no voicemail on my phone, and of course it works fine. The lack of professionalism this company has shown our family is simply awful, and the lying is simply despicable. Unless I'm offered some kind of discount for any future cleanings, I'm done with this awful company. I suppose if you have ooodles of free time and the patience of a saint, this company would be a good fit for you. Otherwise, stay away!

Awful horrible and disgusting. The ladies that work for you smell like ashtrays and they are dirty, and look gross. Your company is incompetent and I'm warning everyone to stay far away from them. I did not sign nor did I have a binding contract. I was told what services were available to me but I never signed or agreed to anything. Not only was my card illegally charged but the cleaning people you have are severely incompetent. I've had to had my house recleaned twice due to your lame ppl. They smell, the work is awful and I am disgusted by you! Shame on you for being thieves and robbing people of their money. If your people were competent; I wouldn't have to go elsewhere. You're the worst kind of scum, and when my attorney and I get done with everyone will be either in jail for credit card fraud or without a job. Shame on you!! In addition to not being able to clean houses, you can return phone calls either. You're incompetent thieving scum!! Stay away from this company unless you want smelly dirty incompetent people Cleaning your house!!

I signed up last July for 1 year of every 2 weeks house cleaning at $116.00 each time.(By signing up for 1 year I saved the first time fee of an addl. $133. for the first time "more intense" cleaning. It was to entail mostly the floors throughout the home, the kitchen cleaning and the bathrooms cleaning. I am unable to do the bending it takes especially for the floors.Today, I agreed to pay the $133.00 to cancel the contract as my house has only been cleaned well two times out of approx. thirteen times and the corners of my bathroom are gradually getting so dirty from lack of cleaning that they may be hard to or never get clean again. I complained and even changed days in order to get the team (2 women) that cleaned it well once, but I still got different teams. I have a 2300 sq. ft. home and they would be here from 45 min. to 1 hour max. I understand fast, but cannot accept a less than thorough job.And we only live in approx. half of our home as our children are grown so some rooms only need vaccuming. When I called today(2 days after cleaning) I offered for the supervisor to come and see, but they told me that was not neccessary. They said I will have to pay the fee for early contract cancellation. So this week I have paid $249.00(116. clean and 133. cancel) and have a house that is still dirty.They use a large steam machine and do not even move the lightest of things to get under them(such as a group of TV trays on wheels) and under my bed has 1/8" of dust. The laminate floor in my bedroom is lifting at one the seams because of the steamer.For a large company I would expect more. I thought I would be better off with a large company as oposed to an independent, but I see now that they just charge more money and you get a worse job.Maybe some other Merry Maids office has better cleaning personell but I would not reccomend this office and personally will not try any of the offices again.

Quality depended on providers which change week to week. Your form asks for one date which does not include ongoing services... weekly, monthly, etc

They do a fantastic job. The maids are extremely cordial, nice, and exceptional. They do a thorough cleaning.

I request that they do a good job. We do sometimes have problems with scheduling. They are very responsible. Whenever they damage something, they replace it. They are very punctual and they do quality work. They are very responsive. They are professional and their pricing is pretty good.

AT THE BEGINNING, THEY WERE GREAT. AFTER TWO MONTHS I COULD TELL THAT THEY WERE SCREWING ME. I CALLED THEM UP AND TOLD THEM THAT I WAS NOT SATISFIED. THEY DID NOTHING TO OFFER A DISCOUNT OR OFFER TO COME BACK AND CLEAN OR FIX IT. THE NEXT TIME THEY CAME BACK IT WAS NOT RESOLVED. I JUST TOLD THEM NOT TO COME BACK.

I AM SATISFIED. I AM NOT OVERWHELMED, BUT THEY ARE DEPENDABLE. MY PARENTS HAVE SOMEONE WHO DOES THEIR HOUSE, AND THE PERSON CLEANS FOR ABOUT 5 HOURS AND CHARGES ABOUT $85. IT TAKES MERRY MAIDS ABOUT 2 HOURS TOTAL, AND THEY USE A COUPLE PEOPLE. THEY ARE HERE FROM 1 HOUR TO 1 1/2 HOURS. THAT WOULD BE 2-3 MAN HOURS. A COUPLE OF TIMES I HAVE HAD TO CALL BECAUSE THEY DIDN'T DO A GOOD JOB ON THE KITCHEN FLOOR.
