BOB'S HANDYMAN & REPAIR

The price was reasonable. He messed up accidentally. He unplugged my dishwasher from the wall and he lied about it and didn't tell me about it. He was going to rig up something using an extension cord to plug it back in without taking out the dishwasher. I didn't find out til later after he left. When i replaced the dishwasher, I found out it was unplugged by him accidentally. He didn't tell me about it. I was very upset by that. I think he should be straight with me. I would not use him again. You should not ever lie to a client. We could fix it together if he said, "Hey, here's what happened." I don't know why he didn't take it out and plug it back in. It would've took a little more time and work. That really ticked me off when I found out.

Extremely easy to talk to. Didn't waste time. Had everything he needed in his van. He comes prepared and ready to work. Most important he returned calls and/or texts in a timely manner and showed up on time. I lost my regular handyman a few years ago. I've been searching since. So far, most have disappointed from not showing up to inferior work to overcharging and wasting time. I have a home and 2 rental units. Bob has earned my account!

I had an excellent experience with Bob's Handyman and Repair. He was able to schedule me within a week or so. Bob and his assistant Jeffrey did excellent work with good attitudes. When he had some extra time before the end of his 3-hour minimum, he asked what else he could fix. I would hire him again if needed.

It was easy to communicate with Bob via email and he arrive on time with his helper Jeff. They laid down floor covering on the hardwood floors and wore booties over their shoes when then went upstairs which is carpeted. Everything they worked on was done professionally and efficiently and also cleaned up the work areas when they were done. Bob and I walked my home to see if there was anything else he could fix while he was there and even gave me suggestions on some things I could do myself. Honest, hardworking, respectful with integrity is how I would describe Bob and Jeff. If I need any handyman services in the future - Bob is who I will be calling.

Very helpful! I think he's an all around good guy and a lot of people should know about him. He may not be the cheapest, but he is very reliable and honest.

We are happy with the diligent work that Bob and his colleague did. They came in and went to work quickly and was done in estimated timeframe. The case around the attic ladder was slightly damaged from shipping but Bob was able to work with it.

Amazing. I have been working with Bob since 2011 when I moved back to California. Since then we have moved twice and have always called him to get us set up in the new house. My last move included 3 mirrors hung on a curved wall along the curved staircase. Each mirror weighed around 200 pounds. They turned out perfect and flawlessly. No mess, no mistakes. Another project required Bob to custom size a 10 foot headboard to fit just below our ceiling. Solid wood headboard (side by side doors from RH) are about 3 inches thick. Bob built a "plastic tent" in my master bedroom shaved off about 2 inches off my headboard put it up securely and neatly against the wall. Not a spec of dust left after the job was done. He is a problem solver. He will get things right no matter what right then an there. No "I'll have to come back in a few days with a different part/screw etc." If I had to state a con, it would be how busy he is. Make sure to book appointments with enough time. Pricey but totally worth it. You do get what you pay for.

I did my research and obtained several proposals from other handyman companies for this work. However, after reviewing the different types of repairs that Bob's Handyman & Repairs can do coupled with all the excellent reviews, I decided to make an appointment. Bob and his assistant arrived a little early, confirmed what items they would be working and then placed protective material on the wood floors and a tarp on the floor to protect my home. They immediately went to work on the list and they continued working diligently to get all the repair items done within 3 hours. They actually finished a few minutes early and Bob offered to do other tasks like tightening the hardware, adjusting the alignment of the cabinet doors, etc. I really appreciated Bob's creative problem solving and commitment to saving me money. I bought a new bi-fold door; however, Bob was able to successfully repair the existing door saving me over $50.00! I also forgot to purchase a down rod for new the ceiling fan; however, they were able to dismantle the one from the old fan and use it for the new fan! I also liked his initiative. He saw an item that needed a minor repair and just took care of it! He also made recommendations for other maintenance items that I may want to consider doing in the future. What a great feeling it was after all these much needed repairs were completed. Bob is friendly, very professional and takes pride in his work. I will definitely hire Bob again to complete repairs around my home.

Bob was excellent. he picked up the closet door at Lowes. arrived at the house and after reviewing the work to be done. set up and got going. while there i inquired about his hooking up a wall mounted tv as well. Bob got it hung, connected and working in about 45 minutes. He also recommended a future project to hide the wiring if we wanted. The closet doors came out great. We now have a GFCI circuit in the bathroom. About 18 old wall outlets were replaced and each room now has an outlet with a USB feature included. Overall the job took 6 hours. bob had estimated 5 1/2. With the tv hanging job included he hit the time right on the mark. His rate is fair, the quality excellent. I would be remiss if i did not mention his set up work to lay down protective coverings on the floor and then completely cleaning up after the job was completed. I will use him again without a doubt.

Thank you Bob and Jeff for the excellent work! They modified our old custom entertainment unit to fit a bigger TV and installed various entertainment devices including a sound system and a DVD player in the family room. After making sure that all devices were properly working, they also gave me a good lesson about using each device so that I can fully enjoy the renovated entertainment unit and new devices. They also installed and mounted a second TV to the bedroom wall. Additionally, they replaced the fire alarm units and certain sink parts. Before Bob started to work, he gave me useful suggestions for what I should consider to improve the entertainment unit. He explained the scope of his work. He was clear as to what he can and cannot do. He was always responsive to my questions even before I hired him. His pricing was fair and clear. Bob and his assistant Jeff were very organized. They worked efficiently and effectively throughout the project. They were courteous, friendly, and conscientious workers. I am glad that I found Bob’s Handyman & Repair service through Angie’s list. I will definitely use Bob's Handyman & Repair service again.

My experience with Bob was first rate and I would recommend his services with no hesitation. I'm currently living out of state and needed 2 new faucets, new tub doors, and other minor improvements and repairs in a condo in LH. Not being able to be on site caused me a lot of concern, but after vetting Bob through Angie's List and speaking with him by phone I felt he was the perfect handyman. He understood exactly what I was after and respected my budget limits. We agreed by phone and email, and laid out the scope of the job. Access was arranged and like clockwork, he was punctual. Bob took time to touch base with me, and offered suggestions without imposing himself. Where we originally thought something needed to be replaced, he realized it just needed a good cleaning and very conscientiously, he sided with my best interest. To say he went above and beyond sounds so trite, but given that I was unable to see anything first hand, I think it’s an understatement. He took up the project with professional pride and great attention, and all the while made my instructions and budget his own. I found him to be sincere and honest and communicated very well with me on all aspects.

We will definitely contact him again for any future work we need done. My spouse and I contacted Robert Fletcher to provide an estimate for several of our honey-do tasks. Unfortunately, he prefers not to do painting or to work outside, so for several tasks he referred us to someone else. He gave us an estimate of $700 to $800 to perform the following for our home: install two ceiling fans (one on a vaulted ceiling with a remote control), create a new attic access, and seal up and patch an area where there was an old HVAC vent that was no longer used or hooked up to our new HVAC system. And, yes, I would need to do the touch up painting myself afterward. We also had a second estimate from a different company for just installing the fans. Their estimate was over $1400 which seemed extreme (even if it did include painting) for something that should take less than a day. So, of course, we decided to try Bob. We purchased the ceiling fans and the one fan remote and then contacted Bob to schedule the work. We were extremely lucky that he had just had a last minute cancellation and was able to come out on the very next Saturday. He arrived on time with an assistant (Martin) and promptly began work, laying down protective mats and tarp. The work took about 7 hours (a little under his estimated time) with the attic access taking a bit longer than expected, but it looked wonderful (better than the main attic access that is in our master closet). For the ceiling fan on the vaulted ceiling he was able to hang the fan from the center of the vault in the room rather than of to the side of the peak. It looks so much better in the center and the fan is quiet - no clicking or extreme vibrations. He and his assistant did a great job cleaning up afterward. There was some very light dust in areas which can't be easily avoided when doing work through drywall. He had purchased supplies before arriving and gave us the receipt for the purchases. And, he applied a $50 discount for finding him via AngiesList. The total cost was $805. Just slightly over estimate, but so worthwhile. And, the quality of work was exceptional. We wish we could hire him to do all our home related fix-ups.

This is my second time hiring Bob, and it certainly will not be the last. He gets is knowledgeable and hardworking.

Bob did not do what so many do and that is drag the jobs out to get more money. He did not take an hour job and charge me three hours to do it. In fact, he agreed upon an initial 3 hour (minimum) to do some work and give me estimates and feedback on other work I was considering. He was quick to tell me up front what is and is not in his bailiwick. There are jobs he does not accept and he was clear on what I could expect the finished product to look like and if any other work by another tradesman would be needed. Bob was punctual, kept me informed of his ETA, was polite, respectful, worked hard to keep the projects clean and cleaned up afterwards. I would certainly use Bob and Martin again in the future.

Bob and his assistant arrived on time, placed a protective tarp at the entrance to the house, and explained exactly what they intended to do, the sequence of the process, and how their work would affect the availability of water, and access to the kitchen. They then went to work and continued to alert me to any issues/work they were doing, and made me feel very comfortable that the job was going as planned, and would be completed within the planned 3 hours. They actually finished 1/2 hour early, and that was when Bob offered to the cabinet and drawer service, which included tightening the hardware, adjusting the alignment of the cabinet doors, and completed the job allowing us to hang out in the kitchen and talk about our business experiences. This was an exceptional, quality, no stress, exactly as promised job but two professionals, that obviously take pride in their work!!

Bob and his assistant (Martin) were phenomenal. This is the second time I have utilized his services, and I wouldn't hesitate to reach out to him again if I need general handyman services. He and his assistant methodically went down the list of items that I prepared for them to complete, and were able to tackle every job that I had earmarked for them. In my entire adult life being a homeowner, I have never come across a contractor/handyman like Bob. First of all, his communication skills are different from others. He follows up immediately via phone or email with the customer....and shows up on time. You never have to leave a second message. Secondly, he is organized and thorough in completing the job. If he ran into issues on a particular task, his knowledge and experience gives him the ability to overcome the issues to satisfy the customer. He is very professional, knowledgeable and proud of his work. Finally, he is trustworthy and fair...which is critical when hiring a handyman/contractor
