Was contracted to do Crown Molding and base board. Originally said he could start in a week but then things start to change. He calls back and says the base board was more expensive that he planned so needed another dollar a foot. I told him to cancel the base board. He then said the vendor did not have enough of the crown molding so it would be another week or so. The next excuse was it would take longer than planned to paint the molding so he did not show again. Then it was supposedly raining where he is and so cannot transport the wood as it might warp so no show again. After more calls and texts he finally shows up on a Saturday and does a small amount of work. He then says he has to leave early to go to his Daughters Birthday party. After more calls and texts he gives us another date. He then no shows because his van broke down. He settles on another date and then no shows yet again this apparently due to being sick. Since then he will not respond to phone or texts He has not once called to keep us informed on any changes or cancellations it was always me that had to continue the calling and texts. This guy is clearly a dishonest individual and cannot be trusted so please do not give him any money or even consider hiring him.

Robert Sutton, owner of The Handyman Professionals was hired to remove old cabinets at a condo unit in Long Beach. He was suppossed to remove the cabinets, patch some holes, and re-install the same cabinets. Upon destroying the old cabinets during the removal, he claimed that he needed additional money in the amount of $1,500 to purchase and install new cabinets within 7 days. Upon collecting payment for this purchase, he stated that the cabinets would be ready in 7 days. After two weeks, I demanded that he provided me a copy of the purchase order and the name of the vendor where he was purchasing these cabinets. He was non-responsive. He was told to cancel the job, unless he provided proof of purchase and a final delivery date. He declined. Mr. Sutton is now being taken to court for illegal retention of funds (in other words, he stole the money). Upon an investigation conducted by a legal service, it was discovered that Mr. Sutton had multiple judgements in court against him (5 to date, excluding this one) ranging from $2,300 to $5,000. His report also found criminal records and arrests made by the Los Angeles County Sheriff Dept. These arrests were listed as Theft, Misdemeanors, and Drunk Driving. Mr. Sutton's is not a license contractor a stated on your Website under the "Licensed" section, where he claims that "Yes, I am apprpiately licensed for my trade".
