Castaway Pools

Description of Work: Initially the quote and contract details were fine. They were priced well, and there were no surprises or nickel and diming small items. The process and construction went fine. The pool area and wall were done well. They also poured concrete, but sloped it wrong towards the house and then tried blaming the builder for it. So far, it hasn't really been a problem with no drainage issues. Really the problems accorred towards the end of construction. They used a subcontractor for the final pool finish. Up until then, every payment was on time as per the contract. The foreman on the job ended up promising things that he didn't discuss with the owner, and when they weren't done, we wanted to withhold the last check until final completion. The foreman frequently promised to show up and didn't especially towards the end of the project. The subcontractor apparently did not get paid by this company, so they sent a threatening letter seeking legal remedies. Not sure if the company is on adequate financial footing to pay their subcontractors. They ended up getting in a shouting match with my spouse, rather unprofessionally, so we just gave up and gave them the last check. In summary, I think they do fine work for the most part (and we are happy with the pool, no problems there), but the relationship between the owner and his foreman is questionable, and really became unprofessional at the end.

Description of Work: They did a complete remodel of our pool and our entire backyard. They did a very professional job and it turned out beautiful. I would recommend them to anyone.
