Belman Hardscape & Pavers

The Belmans did an amazing job of installing pavers and decorative walls. They were very easy to work with, they explained everything clearly. Alexis came by to check on the crew and made sure that we were informed of the job that took about 2 weeks to complete. We looked at other companies to do the job but we were unhappy with either the pricing, the quality, or the customer service. With Belman Pavers everything went smoothly and it was an easy choice for us. I highly recommend going through them if you want quality work done!

Absolutely love my backyard!! Job included quite a bit of concrete demolition, grading, installation of pavers, including short walls, lighted pillars, a long lighted step, irrigation modifications, re-seeding lawn, etc. Victor was extremely responsive and I was very picky. He and his crews worked with me in making changes as the job went along. I was impressed with their responsiveness. Price was good, considering the amount of demo my yard needed. (I had received about 4 or 5 estimates and Belman’s bid was the most inclusive and very competitively priced.) They also warranty their work. I also appreciated his (and his daughter’s) design ideas. They added quality finishing touches I wouldn’t have thought of. Oh - the job was done on time and on budget. Overall, we are extremely satisfied.

Overall we're very happy with how the yard turned out - it looks great and it's very clear that Victor's teams only know how to do high quality work. The only issue I had with the whole project was the scheduling of the work to be done. Our project got pushed back several times from maybe November all the way to March. I understand there was an unusual amount of rain, but nonetheless, there was one point where I was told they could start mid-December, and then I never even got a call or message until I eventually reached out on my own. Other than that, it would have been helpful for the guys who came out to speak better English as we had a hard time communicating several times. As I say, in the end it worked out and we're very happy with our backyard and I believe, based on other estimates, that we got a good price.

Pricing is right in there with everybody else that is licensed, bonded and everything. Everything that most people complain about with contractors, like taking your money and never showing up or not getting done on time, He did everything on time. No big overruns, no lateness. It was a well managed job.

We left detailed phone and e-mail descriptions of the job.Telephone response was unintelligible. No response to e-mail, even though they requested it. Eventually heard from Juliana, and she said they were not interested in the job. If they don't want the job, they should respond in good time!

The job went very quickly once it started, Victors crew showed up every day on time and worked very hard through out the day. The stone wall is extremely straight and we are so pleased with our new trash can storage area. The pavers along the drive way are the talk of the neighborhood and really bring lots of attention to our home.

This was a major project for us. It was something we saved up to do and we were very fearful of being taken advantaged of since we didn't have a lot of experience in this type of endeavor. We did as much research as we could and contacted different contractors from handymen to concrete/pavers specialist to get estimates. We went with Belman Hardscape and Pavers because of  their long standing experience and I had the comfort of knowing that they would be around after the job was done. They were not the cheapest as compared with going with a handyman but not as pricey as those other contractors out there. But we are SO GLAD we did! We met with Victor who was everything we needed him to be in this endeavor. He was punctual, transparent, listened to our needs, understood we were working with a budget in mind, and was there every step of the way. We found that everything as far as costs goes fair as compared to our previous research before looking for a contractor. When the work started, his team was great! They were very independent, trustworthy, professional, and friendly. Not once in the one week of project did I have to be inconvenienced to be present for them while they worked. But the greatest thing was the results! The work was so much better than I hoped for! Not only was the backyard STUNNING, the use of the pavers made the backyard sooo much bigger. We are totally happy with our experience with Victor and Belman Hardscape and Pavers! I look forward to doing business with them again when the time comes to do the driveway!

Victor is a true professional.  At the time he gave me the quote, and again when he started the job, Victor said he would fix his work if there was ever a problem.  He did everything he said he was going to do and on time.  One year later, nature had taken it's course and the patio had settled on one side causing a large gap in the pavers.  Victor sent out a crew at his expense.  The crew removed all the pavers, backfilled the area that had settled and re-laid the pavers.  Finished in one day.  This is the type of service you hope for with a contractor.  Thank You Victor.

Nothing at all wrong with this company or their contacts.  They are based about 50 miles from us.  The contractor we hired lives about 5 miles away.  That was just a no brainer.

The job came out beautiful and their price was competitive.  Communication was good, we would use them again.

Everything went so smoothly.  From Start to finish it took 1 week.

Our house got a total makeover!  The pavers gave our house a really nice curb appeal.  Victor Belman (owner) and his crew did an excellent job!  We didn't want to install pavers at first.  But Victor really educated us with the concept of pavers.  I'm glad we decided to stick with pavers.  The project took two weeks to finish.  We needed an entryway to our house, so they have to carve out our hillside to create steps.  Even though Victor's business is all the way in Rancho Cucamonga, he still catered to us all the way in LA.  Victor was there almost everyday to check up on the progress of the work.  His foreman, Emilio, followed our instructions.  He was very cooperative, even with the minor changes that we needed. Victor always called and communicated with us for each stage of the project. Every time a decision is needed, he always make sure we approved it first before continuing.  Out of all the contractors we spoke with, Victor was the only one with a vision of how the work was going to look like. He has a very artistic eye and he didn't fail us.  We would highly recommend this company.

Everything went fantastic.  Victor (owner) came out and quickly did a bid with some great suggestions to make the space more livable.  We expressed our concerns and he took notes and provided helpful suggestions.
He said it would take 5-days and by gosh it took exactly 5-days.  He was able to move our project up at least 3-weeks ahead of schedule.  His guy (Emilio) came out on Monday morning at 8 am promptly and was a joy to have working around...absolute trust.  He worked hard and was careful about minimizing the mess as well as locking up and leaving garage space for me to park (important).  He was gone by time I got home...it was like have a elf-contractor on site.  I really never had to check up on him.  Victor was in communication via phone during this small project and came out on the final day to make sure everything was good and I was happy. 
As much crap and horror stories you hear about contractors, this was a blessing and would be glad to chat with anyone that has questions.  I can be reached at 714-335-4911.

Showed up late, although he did call several times, he was still later than his re-adjusted time.  He put down my ideas stating "I don't like palms" or "I like the DG".  I thought it was MY backyard.  He offered some ideas, but really revolved around pavers and seemed extremely high.  Wanted to talk more about the different backyards that he did in the neighborhood than what I could actually do with mine. 

We agreed to follow up the next week, but I did not want to move forward.  He never tried following up with me.

Victor Belman, owner, responded personally to meet us, listen to our "wish list," make suggestions, give ideas, and provide a quote for our pool deck/bbq area, and separate courtyard area on the opposite side of the house.  The project would entail two phases:  1) complete demo and removal of existing walkways, concrete pool decking, and brick barbecue area around the pool, replacing with pavers; and 2) removal of existing concrete pads and gravel areas on the opposite side of the house, and replace with pavers, as well as building a stucco wall, to make a new "courtyard" area.  Victor immediately seemed to understand what we wanted, and provided good ideas and suggestions.  He was able to measure and provide a preliminary quote that same day. (The "B" in pricing reflects a quote considerably higher than the other quotes we received.)  Belman Living has an excellent, beautiful web site with quality pictures.  One of Victor's strong points was his communication, keeping in touch with us, and answering our phone calls and e-mails promptly, and actually came out a second time to discuss additional ideas we had developed.   Although we ultimately chose a different company, we would not hesitate to contact Victor Belman for future projects.

The new patio and wall, simply put, are beautiful! The Belman crew quickly demolished and removed the old patio and wall and installed new in less than 2 weeks! If it weren't for the several days of rain (very rare in May in Orange County), the job would have been done in about 7 calendar days. We love how it looks and working with Victor (owner) and Hector (crew chief) was great. Both were very responsive to our questions and last minute change requests. Both also have been extremely responsive to post construction questions and requests.
I highly recommend Belman for any hardscape project you may have.

I don't think I should have to pay $49 for an estimate. The way it was written up in Angie's List, it was supposed to be they were to give me a design plan or something like that. So, I thought that was a bogus deal. I just thought that was a waste of time. They are very responsive.

He presented himself well. He was nice and he was faithful. He took my idea and knew what I was talking about.

We wanted more landscape ideas for a new backyard. What we got was lots of cement-scaping it seems.
